The Bills also know Peters as a person. He’s a polite, soft-spoken, team-first guy who they know won’t go all Terrell Owens on them. The fact that the public hasn’t heard so much as a whisper of complaint out of Peters isn’t surprising to those who know him best. In fact, there’s a line of thinking from sources close to the team that Peters never wanted to hold out in the first place, and that everything’s being orchestrated by his agent, Eugene Parker. It only stands to reason that eventually, Peters is bound to override his overzealous agent’s advice, and report. The Bills show resolve by not caving in to meet Peters' demands - PFW...

Treine a leitura e compreensão do inglês na Wikipedia Spoken Articles
    2008-07-29 23:00:22

the power of the spoken word.
    2008-07-21 23:16:34
one of the things I like to talk about is - BUFFETS. bangkok has so many different ones. you could spend everyday of the month at a different one if you so desire. naturally, I talk about buffets all the time with my fellow lounge lizards.it didn't occur to me that talking about buffets would influence others to want to join me at some of these places.as it turns out, this actual scenario happened to me yesterday. the shadow wanted to go to a buffet with me. we were not sure which one to go to. so, I decided on the "shabusushi" over at the siam center mall. we got there late and pigged out. the waitresses there were so nice. they even asked us which sushi they could make for us special order. we ordered the equivalent of 15 trays - 2 pieces to a tray. plus the stuff off the conveyor belt, we were pretty much in heaven. buffet heaven.after the buffet, we went back to the lobby. da brain told me earlier that he and beautiful would be hanging out there later. ..sure enough, w...

Have already spoken 50,000 words today
    2008-07-09 09:33:34
Two things happened this morning that resulted in me using way more than my alloted words for the morning.First thing was Salinda texting me at the Y at 6:50 that she needed a ride to work crew at 7:30. My morning was already over packed. Bart called and needed me to stop and get milk and Sadie and Tony were both with me and they needed to shower and go to summer school. So, I finally agree to get her there by 7:30 but not without a rant. Now I realize that I had three parenting choices:1) Love and logic -- tell her that I couldn't possibly get it done this morning, and that she would either have to walk or miss it.2) Agree, explain my difficult situation to her calmly, and hope that it registered that she needed to plan better; or3) Agree reluctantly to pick her up and then yell and lecture her for a long time.Of course, of the three choices, I picked the worst one. But it felt good. She got a real lecture on the phone, but by the time I picked her up she was in an OK mood and...

Keeping it in context: It's a disgrace what the mainstream media does to the spoken word
    2008-06-23 22:25:00
For crying out loud, America: Can anyone say anything without it being taken out of context? I had planned not to address this situation, but because it goes well beyond the arena of Don Imus, I feel I have no other choice. Today, in a discussion with sports reporter Warner Wolf about Pacman Jones, Imus asked Wolf what color Jones was. Wolf responded: "African-American." On the surface, it might seem like Imus was getting himself into trouble again, right? Wrong. What many media outlets — including MSNBC, Drudge, CNN, Sports Illustrated, ESPN and many others — failed to mention when they reported this non-story today was that Imus had been discussing the notion that the police often give more trouble to African-Americans because their skin color is black. To illustrate his point, Imus asked Wolf what Jones' skin color was. When Wolf responded, Imus said: "There you go. Now we know." Again, when read out of context, it seems pretty bad. But it's not. It's not because, as u...

And the hooker has spoken …
    2008-04-06 01:38:58
As expected, The News Of The World came up with further story on Max Mosley today. Max Mosley said yesterday he did nothing wrong and he keeps denying any Nazi theme in his orgy. One of the ladies involved has her side of story. Someone is not telling the truth. Whatever the truth is the way [...]...

It's None Of Your Business: Chelsea Has Spoken... Again.
    2008-04-01 11:32:00
Far be it from me to be able to determine between when a personal question is being asked, and a campaign relevant question is being asked. Apparently, Chelsea still can't tell the difference either. Now, for a second time a question of whether the "Lewinsky" incident may be tarnishing Hillary's chances at the Presidency has been asked. And once again, Chelsea has replied with a, "It's none of your business," angle. At least this time she attempted (albeit badly) to somewhat sugarcoat it. Spinning it into a "I'm sure there's private things about your family that you wouldn't want asked," when she addressed the questioner.Fortunately, the questioner was later able to make a statement regarding his reasoning of the question. The student, posed his query to Chelsea because in his opinion, Bill Clinton as President is supposed to be the #1 Citizen in America. An understandable train of thought. And if Billy boy is off romping around with an intern while Hillary is in the other room, what doe...

    Malaysians have spoken
    2008-03-09 01:45:00
What a shocking General Election it has been for Malaysians! In a good way that is. Last night, at 9pm, when my husband and I checked the unofficial results on MalaysiaKini website, news has it that Penang has fallen to the opposition with DAP taking significant number of seats. That was enough to send our adrenaline [...]...
