I have to confess to not knowing a thing about it when I purchased it several years ago. It is a type of White Spruce that is native to South Dakota. The final height is listed anywhere from 20 to 100 feet but if it is ever going to get there it better start growing a little faster. It has grown maybe 2 feet in the 5 to 7 years it has been in the garden. It is a handsome tree with a nice bluish-green color and interesting branching structure. I would recommend it as something a little different in the evergreen department. I wanted to spend some time here but with going to the airport the night before and having to leave early the next morning it didn’t happen. I have been working on a house in Darien that has been slowly upgrading and adding some garden areas. There is a lot of construction going on inside the house and I had to remove some of the landscaping in the front of the house earlier this year.
