| | | | iPhone beta indicate stereo Bluetooth GPS | | 2008-04-11 15:06:27 | | According to the Greek iPhone unlocking site, the Text strings in the latest beta of Apple's iPhone 2.0 firmware indicate towards multiple new features plus extra measures to prevent unlocking. References to 3G chipsets have been made; the code also adds A2DP and "HeadphoneBT" entries, suggesting support for stereo Bluetooth audio, in addition to the "HeadsetBT" mention for existing mono Bluetooth headset support. Apparently there will be a Bluetooth remote control. Hardware references include a hint to "RoleGps," implying GPS navigation, plus unknown reference to printers. Earlier references towards Nike+ equipment have been dropped for the moment but speculations for it being integrated at a later date are still there. A new, clearly expressive "BRICKED_AND_SIM_LOCKED_STRING" point towards, that the phone may ultimately refuse to unlock itself for use with unofficial carriers if it detects either it's restricted from normal functions. component for Safari has also been speculated, ho | | By: Unique Gift Idea | | |

| | Car Stereo Installation Guide part 4 | | 2008-02-20 09:20:29 | | Dealing with "Premium" factory systems If your vehicle has a Premium sound system or an integrated stereo/climate control panel, you will probably need a special "OEM integration" adapter in order to install a new stereo. The appropriate adapter can be purchased from . An adapter allows you to use a new stereo with your existing speaker system. EvaluationBy now you should have some idea of what is involved in replacing your factory stereo with a new, better, aftermarket stereo. The next step is to see if Crutchfield has a MasterSheetâ„¢ for your vehicle. That's a set of installation instructions custom designed for your specific vehicle. It will describe every step of the process and tell you where to find every screw you need to remove for the installation. A MasterSheetâ„¢ takes all the guesswork out of the installation.Even without a Crutchfield MasterSheetâ„¢, most people can install an in-dash stereo without much trouble, using just the tips in this article. | | Car Stereo Installation Guide part 3 | | 2008-02-20 09:16:48 | | Installing the new stereo If the original stereo was bolted into the dash, you might need to remove the mounting brackets from the sides of it and attach them to the sides of your new stereo. More likely, you will need a mounting kit (which may include a trim ring, a dash insert, brackets, a faceplate, and/or a metal mounting sleeve) to install the stereo (Figure 1).If a mounting kit is required, install it first. Then slide the new stereo's metal mounting sleeve (if included) into the kit. Secure the metal sleeve by using a screwdriver to bend the sleeve's metal tabs into place (Figure 2).Once the dash opening is ready for the new stereo, hold the stereo near the opening. Connect the stereo wiring adapter to the vehicle's wiring harness and plug in the antenna cable.Slide the stereo into the dash opening, but don't fasten it down just yet. First, test the stereo to make sure everything is working properly. It's easier to fix a problem while everything is still exposed. Turn on the pow | | By: Car audio and cd players | | |
| | Car Stereo Installation Guide part 2 | | 2008-02-20 09:14:23 | | Prepping the new stereo If Crutchfield carries a custom wiring harness for your vehicle, you can use it to connect your new stereo to your vehicle's factory wiring harnesses. This will ensure that everything works seamlessly, just like the factory stereo did. If a harness is not available for your vehicle or if the factory stereo plug was cut off, you'll need to identify each of the stereo wires and connect them to the corresponding wires of your new stereo. If you purchased your new stereo from Crutchfield, our Tech Department may be able to tell you the colors and functions of your car's stereo wires.Crimping and SolderingDecide whether you want to crimp or solder the wires together. Crimping is faster and easier. If you crimp the wires together, be sure to use the correct size crimp connector — typical in-dash stereo wires are 18-gauge, but a few use heavier gauge power and ground wires. There are several types of crimp connectors, including bullet connectors, butt connectors, or | | By: Car audio and cd players | | |

Pay close attention to the steps involved, for the process for installing your new stereo will be the same, but in reverse.Removing the factory stereoFor detailed information on how to remove the factory stereo in a specific vehicle, refer to your Crutchfield MasterSheetâ„¢ instructions, if available. They will walk you through the process step-by-step. Otherwise, you may use the general guidelines below. Before you begin, start by setting the parking brake and removing the negative cable from the car battery to prevent accidently short circuiting something.Your factory stereo will be mounted in one of two ways: secured in a metal mounting sleeve by spring clips bolted to the dash with brackets Spring clip mountingIf the stereo is held in by spring clips, you'll need a pair of DIN tools. | | I bought a new stereo | | 2007-11-16 19:14:49 | | I bought a new stereo, and I am happy to find one that I can afford. It works great and I am happy. Anyway, most of my days have been spent running around, spending my molah on every little things in sight. But really, I am always busy shopping for our children's clothes. Our daughter is going to school and well, since she is a public school. She doesn't wear a uniform which is quite costly. I guess the beauty of going to a public school in America is that you don't need to wear any uniform, and you are able to dress however you want as long as in a decent way. Kids here can show off they latest styles and wardrobes. So I bet the kids born in the rich families are into it big time. The leader in wearing different designer clothes to school. That is cool, but kinda sad for the poor people that can hardly afford to buy any clothes unless they shop at the second hand stores. | | Things to look for when buying car stereo speakers. | | 2007-07-09 19:34:00 | | By Roger Charles 1. How is the speaker's power measured?Pay close attention to the amount of power the speaker can handle. This is particularly important when dealing with woofers, since they require more power to play loudly. Look out for models where the manufacturers exaggerate power. Ensure that power is measures in RMS. Be very wary of terms like "music power" and "peak power". These terms mean nothing when it comes to measuring power.2. How sensitive is the speaker? The more sensitive a speaker is, the less power required to play it. If a speaker is insensitive it will require a lot more power to play at the same volume. If you're using an amplifier you don't have much to worry about. But sensitivity becomes a bigger issue when you're using your head unit to power your speakers. Head units have less power so they require speakers that are more sensitive.3. Are you buying the right size speakers? The size of your sp | | By: Automotive - SageBlog | | |
