| The Continuing Energies Of August...In The Eye Of The Storm | | 2008-08-21 19:41:41 | | By Karen BishopIn Whats Up On Planet Earth With August being a month for much celestial activity, there will be a meteor shower on August 12th. With a bit of a window around its arrival, the evening of the 12th of August and the morning of the 13th of August will bring forth the maximum of the Perseid meteor shower. Up to 80 shooting stars may be visible each hour! And then on August 16th, we will experience a full moon lunar eclipse. These celestial events will greatly support our arrival into the new and are bringing with them some awesome and very exciting energy. The total solar eclipse cleared the way for a brand new beginning. For several weeks before its arrival on August 1st, we were bottle-necked and sharing space with some very unpleasant energies indeed. The light of the new had not yet arrived, and much seemed to be going awry with seemingly out of control denser energies having their way.The solar eclipse opened the way for a new beginning. It enabled things to begin a for... | | By: Spiritual Village | | |

| Kite Surfer Dragged on Beach by Tropical Storm Fay - Videos | | 2008-08-20 18:49:00 | | Emergency officials warned everyone to find shelter during Tropical Storm Fay, but perhaps a Fort Lauderdale man decided that the warning did not apply to him.26-year-old Kevin Kearney was thrill seeking while kite surfing in the rough surf off Fort Lauderdale beach Monday when Tropical Storm Fay decided to take Kearney for a ride.A strong gust of wind from Fay hurtled down the beach and caught Kearney and his kite by surprise. The wind slammed Kearney into the sandy beach, and then just as quickly picked him up again dragging him across the beach, across the street and then smashed him into the side of a nearby building. It was almost as if the storm had a mind of its own and decided to punish the kite surfer for daring to surf while Fay was in town.Said WFOR Engineer Anthony Romano who was nearby filming the wrath of the storm, "I'm surprised he didn't get hit by a car because we have (highway) A1A right here. I think it was a miracle that he just flew over the street and into the thi... | | By: In The Spotlite | | |

| Sunset & Storm | | 2008-08-19 10:21:00 | | Yesterday I had a very odd schedule with every Pilates class or private being around 2 hours apart. As I was heading home from the spa around 7:15pm I saw this gorgeous storm at sea right in front of me.Spectacular, yes. And then I looked up a little and got the entire scenario.A few moments later I turned the corner and it was just close enough to actual sunset to produce this showy cloud production.Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remember that I am not dreaming-it's that beautiful!Tags: Photographs, Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos, Caribbean, lynda lippin

The rain started last night along with some pretty intense thunder and lightening, and the winds have been quite strong all day today. It has been raining on and off all day, and when it rains it rains hard! Below are some photos I took this morning of the sky as I was walking into work around 7:40am. Enjoy! | The Wrath of a Dust Storm | | 2008-07-13 04:51:00
In connection with yesterday's strong wind which swept the suburban parts of Tokyo, I would like to recall one of my most scary and unusual experience here in Japan last February 2008.
It was a cold afternoon in JR Musashi Takahagi Station along the Hachiko Line when I noticed that the horizon was brown. At first I just ignored it. I thought that it was just normal. From the horizon, it was as if the sky was equally divided with a straight brown line. There was no unsual strong blow of wind at that time. Everything seemed okay. After a while, the one who was scheduled to pick me up arrived. When we went on the opposite side of the station, I saw a very huge mass of brown something coming within our direction. It seemed weird. I did not recognized until the wind passed by us and it was all dust! Dust storm was pounding us. The nearby surroundings were covered in dust and it was like a scene from a real dessert with a dust storm. I was a little scared but a bit thrilled to experience... | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog

| Pay Per Click Trademark Storm Has Passed | | 2008-07-11 08:44:40 | |
As of early May 2008 Google implemented major changes to its
trademarks policies and lifted restrictions on branded keywords being used in competitor's
campaigns in the UK and Ireland. Many advertisers/agencies were displaying
apprehension and concern toward the changes and the effects on their campaigns.
As an
Ad Words professional I too had a sceptical outlook to the changes and their
effects. We are now over 2 months into the new format and as ever the decision
from the search Zeus reigned and the storm is slowly blowing over and the calm
setting back in.
Policies Overview
Previously advertisers could
submit keywords with Google that they have trademarks on, i.e. Nike, Audi and
Addidas etc and supplicate that Google prohibited other advertisers bidding on
these keyword terms without form... | | By: Sonicatu

| Kollywood beauty Queen Asin is set to storm Hindi | | 2008-06-25 12:21:38 | |
Kollywood beauty Queen Asin is set to storm Hindi films with Ghajini opposite Aamir Khan after conquering Telugu and Tamil cinema. Ask her if she is set to become next big Bollywood’s diva from the South, and the actress giggles in embarrassment, “I’m a long way from getting anywhere near Hema, Rekha and Sridevi. But I feel hugely welcome in Mumbai. I don’t know why filmmakers are showing so much interest in me.” Asin (pronounced Ah-sin) she explains her name: “Asin is coined from Sanskrit and English. It means ‘sinless’... like ‘Amala’… without blemish. I hope I live up to my name in Mumbai.”
For now, Mumbai is her home. “But only because my immediate commitments are in Mumbai,” she clarifies. “I’m the brand ambassador for six multi-national companies and the ads need to be shot in Mumbai. Now there are Hindi films too. ”Fortunately, Asin speaks Hindi without that Southern twang that is even now so pronounced in Hema. “I’ve never used a dubbing... | | By: allmasala

| The Approaching Storm | | 2008-06-25 11:24:00 | | When my major depressive episode started I felt that it came out of no where but when I looked back I realized there was a number of signs that either I ignored or missed that may have led to a different outcome if I did something then and not waited til it was to late. This list is some of the indicators that I was about to run into a storm:
1. Sleep - Sleep became my biggest enemy for either it would take hours to actually fall asleep or once I was asleep the nightmares made me wish I was still awake.
2. Sick - I have no idea how many times I called in to work sick but the number should have been an indicator something was wrong. Seemed every week it was a new cold or bug and the bout with shingles that kept my body constantly fighting.
3. Patience - Or lack of. No matter how small the incident was it would get under my skin in a heartbeat. Too much energy was spent trying to keep my temper under control.
4. Major Events - I think my depression really started to gear up about... | | By: UNTREATABLE' S BLOG - Borderline Personality Self

| Storm tears through much of Nutley, causing extensive damage, closing many streets and prompting officials to declare town wide State of Emergency | | 2008-06-11 02:34:00 | | By Kevin Canessa Jr.The Hudson LineThe Nutley folks wake up to Wednesday morning will hardly look as it did just a day ago.A massive storm — which at least one resident says included a tornado — swept through town, downing trees, downing wires and closing streets, prompting local officials to declare a State of Emergency.Schools district wide are closed Wednesday as crews work to clean up the mess left behind by the storm.Additionally, much of the township is without power, and officials say it won't return until late Wednesday — possibly even later in some locations. There were very few streets in the entire township that didn't have at least one large tree toppled. In many areas, live electric, phone and cable wires were down and tangled in fallen trees.Police were out patrolling the streets in full force, and the fire department had trucks on stand-by, ready to roll at fire headquarters. The Nutley ShopRite was completely without power, and its burglar alarm sounded as late as 2... | | By: The Hudson Line Blog | | |

| Israeli Economy Weathers Global Storm | | 2008-05-25 14:57:00 | | The country's real estate sector also has remained strong—and largely untouched by fallout from the subprime crisis that has hit many other markets. Rents for prime office space in the Tel Aviv area rose by nearly 40% in 2007, and while that's expected to slow this year, analysts still expect gains of 10%-15%. "Our occupancy rate is approaching 100% and we've got a long waiting list," says Arnon Toren, CEO of the Azrieli Center, the largest office complex in Tel Aviv. The situation is much the same at other major office blocks in Israel's financial capital. A leading Tel Aviv real estate company searched for nearly six months to find suitable premises to house the Israeli operations of two leading foreign investment banks.Commercial real estate has been almost as strong and shows no signs of any letup. Few, if any, vacancies are being reported at any of the country's dozens of shopping malls, and rents are continuing to rise. The sole exception is residential housing, where prices ha... | | By: Israel real estate | | |

I'm coming to ruin your team and steal your women (and possibly the men too)! HaHA!
So apparently Jim Edmonds is officially a Cub. This is quite terrible. No one really has a good explanation. The only fun thing is that Jim Edmonds has banded the Cubs blogosphere together for the first time in Interweb history, which is really a feat unto itself.
I'm so mad you're getting an abbreviated game thread tonight. It's Lilly, who has been awesome of late, against Peavy, who is awesome all the time.
I was working on rewriting 'Twas the Night Before Christmas," calling it "Night Before Edmonds," but good gosh, that poem is long. Perhaps if I had more time and/or Jack Daniels. But here were some of the better excerpts:
Things were going great, winning four in a row
Laughing at the Brewers and Cards down below
When what to my wondering eyes should appear

| A spring storm | | 2008-05-12 15:58:19 | | They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but I think Charles Dickens and his outstanding imagery are just about half way there, at least...''A blight had fallen on the trees and shrubs; and the wind, at length beginning to break the unnatural stillness that had prevailed all day, sighed heavily from time to time, as though foretelling in grief the ravages of the coming storm. The bat skimmed in fantastic flights through the heavy air, and the ground was alive with crawling things, whose instinct brought them forth to swell and fatten in the rain.''''The wind began to moan in hollow murmurs, as the sun went down carrying glad day elsewhere; and a train of dull clouds coming up against it, menaced thunder and lightning. Large drops of rain soon began to fall, and, as the storm clouds came sailing onward, others supplied the void they left behind and spread over all the sky. Then was heard the low rumbling of distant thunder, then the lightning quivered, and then the darkness of an h... | | By: Lady Greenthumb's garden | | |

| Operation Beijing storm: rockets target rain | | 2008-04-15 19:45:00 | | BEIJING (Reuters) - China is preparing an arsenal of rockets and aircraft to protect the Olympics opening ceremony from rain, hoping to disperse clouds before they can drench dignitaries at the roofless "bird's nest" stadium.Officials believe there is a 47 percent probability of rain during the August 8 opening ceremony and a 6 percent chance of a heavy downpour and will try to drain humidity from clouds before they reach Beijing.More than 100 staff at 21 stations surrounding the city will have 10 minutes' notice to fire rockets or cannons containing silver iodide at approaching clouds in the hope of making them rain before they reach the stadium. Three aircraft will also be on stand-by to drop catalysts to unleash rain from the clouds."We've worked with neighboring provinces on a contingency plan for rainstorm and other weather risks during the ceremonies," said Wang Yubin, the deputy chief of China's meteorological service assigned to the Olympics. The government has spent $500,000 t... | | By: Pro Pinoy | | |

| Navigating the storm: Asia’s real estate | | 2008-04-14 09:54:00 | | The resilience of Asian economies and the real estate market will be truly tested in 2008. Buoyant domestic consumption is expected to help the region weather a substantial economic slowdown as weaker global demand impacts Asian exports.Overall, despite the risks inherent in the region, we believe opportunities remain in Asia’s real estate market, mainly in grade-A office space, driven by sound GDP growth (projected at 8% y-o-y) underpinned by sustained private consumption, higher public and private investments; a re-rating of property as an asset class, sustained domestic demand and on-going infrastructure development. We remain bullish on India and Vietnam, with a cautious view on China, Malaysia and Singapore.

| The storm of Souls has ceased... | | 2008-03-23 01:08:00 | | Black Consuls Assault! Inserito originariamente da Abriael First of all, happy Easter to everyone that's reading. Secondarily, Tonight i finally won Soulstorm's single player campaign. It was just a matter of time, since none can withstand the righteous power of the might Blood Ravens space marines (even if my allegiance normally stays with another chapter, the Black Consuls, whom I play in the tabletop games since before than i can remember)My feelings about the game (or better, the expansion) are definately mixed. The gameplay itself is absolutely astounding, and leaves me with good hopes about Dawn of War 2. Given my absolute and utter hate for Blizzard and their lack of creativity (it's easily noticeable that the Warcraft IP was openly copied from Warhammer, while Starcraft was copied from Warhammer 40000), I would love for Dawn of War 2 to utterly beat Starcraft 2 back into the oblivion it deserves (just as much as I'd love to see Warhammer online deal the same well deserv... | | By: Classy Gamer | | |

| Storm Deep Thunderstick | | 2008-03-14 19:34:00 | | Deep Thunderstick vs contour trollingIn the summertime, walleyes tend to spread out along rock structure, reefs or shoreline. They are not crowded anymore like they are during the spawn season. They aren't hanging out in predictable places like cups and tips but are dispersed along the whole structure. You will need some good fishing skills and a good fishfinder to find them. Trolling a Storm Deep Thunderstick over structure in water 20 feet deep or less is a great way to catch these scattered fish. This unique method of fishing is called "contour trolling" because you want to keep the lure at one depth -- typically right off a rocky bottom, or reef edge. This is the favorite fishing strategy of by good fishing partner "Pat Malservisi".While "contour trolling", make sure you follow this excellent fishing tips: let out enough line so that the Deep Thunderstick starts to tick the bottom, then reel up a few feet until the lure is 1-2 feet off the bottom. Once the lure is running rig... | | By: Walleye blog by Mike | | |

| Weather forecast - storm battle | | 2008-03-10 10:24:00 | | Yesterday it became apparent that we were in for heavy storms and violent winds with gusts between 70 and 80 miles per hour. The worst affected areas would be in the west and south of Britain. I looked at the maps that kept appearing at the end of news items and saw that the line that they had drawn for this bombardment of wind and rain was well in the area where I live.
During the night you could hear the rattling of items outside and the sound of heavy rainfall but to my relief in the morning it had quelled quite a lot. However, we were more fortunate than some. In parts of Wales in coastal areas the wind and waves were very violent. There has been flooding in some areas, power lines are down in a few districts and there are currently warnings advising people not to take to the roads.
There is more bad weather due later on.... | | By: Random Ramblings

| Winter Storm Christopher Is About To BOP Us... | | 2008-01-13 05:31:00 | | Hello...it's me, just a few minutes after my last post on this still dark Sunday morning, a morning to go to the supermarket and stock up. That's what everybody's mindset will be, because when a big storm is forecast to hit in the nighttime hours and every school in the state will be closed tomorrow, people MUST GO OUT AND BUY MILK. Milk? Why, will the cows not make it through this storm? Moo to my bovine readers! Oh, another item that will be on people's shopping lists...BREAD. Milk and bread. All I know is that I will be one of those who will be at the market when they open up at 8AM. But I was going anyways, and milk and bread are NOT on my list. Does that make me different in any way? No, I'll just be another person waiting in the checkout line, chatting about the weather to come with my fellow friends and neighbors while waiting for my items to be lucky enough to be scanned by a trained professional. Just one of the masses. I'll be back early tomorrow morning, with a link to the northeast radar so that you, like me, can follow the expected foot of snow AS it falls! There's nothing like the school boy feeling of waking up in the morning, and prying open sleep-encrusted eyes with wonderment as the snow falls quickly and wonderfully. Comments are always welcome and always responded to here...so feel free. BE WELL. And enjoy your Sunday!... | | By: Peter's Red Sox Forever | | |

| Twitter's Usefulness Underscored During San Francisco Storm | | 2008-01-04 18:18:00 | | Since I signed up with Twitter I have experienced a wide array of emotion while experiencing the lives of the people I follow; sad because someone I follow was struggling with depression, frustrated due to repetitive useless tweets, and amazed and excited by the timely news I am often privy too. Obviously I prefer to be excited and amazed and today happens to be one of those days.In this case, San Francisco and much of California is currently being rocked by a highly irregular storm that has raised severe weather alerts such as flash floods, and high surf/coastal floods. Well it just so happens that a few of the people I follow on Twitter are from this area and their tweets provide proof that Twitter (the community-based text messaging platform) has a value above my expectation.I caught a tweet from Michael Dorausch of Planet Chiropractic that provided a resource of links to the latest California weather news and travel info. The posting appears quite helpful to Californians because it provides alternative sites for those who find the most obvious ones too busy to access. How it Helped: This is weather posting is a great resource for friends and family in California - pass it on to those who may not know how to navigate the Net well - it could save a lot of headache for anyone travelling or planning to travel.Evan Williams kindly posted a driving warning for his Twitter network: "Driving thru town in the storm. Brannan blocked at 8th by fallen tree. Multiple traffic lights out."How it Helped: Stay away from Brannan and 8th and keep the heck of the roads if you have any choice in the matter.Jeremiah Owyang posted that his home was without power and he was bailing water as his garage flooded. He posted a few times on this over the past 10 hours. Poor guy sounds miserable! I wish I was in the area to help - if I were I could thanks to Twitter. How it Helped: Monitor your basement and garage for water and prepare for outages if you haven't already. | A storm in a beer cup (part 2) and Australian Open Day 2 Wrap | | 2007-12-14 04:43:13 | | If you are a regular reader you might remember a couple of days ago I talked about how Robert Allenby wasn't too happy about the bar on the 11th hole of the Australian open. This was his response: Robert Allenby produced some rare theatrics at the $1.75 million Australian Open, donning bright red earmuffs and pumping up the crowd before putting himself in contention for another Stonehaven Cup. Allenby fired a two-under par 70 at The Australian course to move to seven under overall, one shot behind West Australians Nick O'Hern (66) and Kim Felton (69). Defending champion John Senden missed the cut, joining Mark Hensby, Brett Rumford and struggling former US Open champion Michael Campbell on the sidelines this weekend. But all the talk was about Allenby's colourful display, the likes of which is rarely witnessed on professional golf's pristine fairways. Speculation was rife all week that Allenby, who is chasing a third Open to add to his 1994 and 2005 victories, would cop an earfu... | | By: The Golf Blog | | |

| Golf News: On course bars and the storm in a beer cup | | 2007-12-12 19:32:28 | | Two weeks ago Robert Allenby threatened not to play in his native country again after being heckled by three drunken fans during the Australian Masters. His comments since would hardly have helped matters. Stuart Appleby reckons his Victorian counterpart Robert Allenby would have been better off keeping his mouth shut about the galleries at this week's $1.75 million Australian Open. Allenby all-but guaranteed he would be heckled at The Australian course in Sydney, saying he has his earplugs ready for the 11th hole, which will come complete with its own bar. Not all players would have made a similar stance. Appleby, for one, would have kept his mouth firmly closed. "There's a lot of players out there, I'm not sure if the public's trying to target Robert," Appleby said. "It sounds like Robert's saying they will, which only heightens it. "You drop a piece of meat on the ground, you don't have to yell out 'piece of meat' to the flies, they work out where it is pretty quick. ... | | By: The Golf Blog | | |

| Carbon Credits and Kyoto Treaty Caused Winter Ice Storm, Let’s Sue | | 2007-12-12 00:05:13 | | If litigious attorneys backed by environmentalist wackos can sue oil companies for causing hurricane Katrina, then we can sue Carbon Credit companies, Al Gore and bureaucrats who supported the Kyoto treaty for causing this week’s ice storm. In fact, suing these people will finally prove that Al Gore is lying about everything. Follow my logic.
The bureaucrats who support carbon credits,...

| Storm Lando | | 2007-11-20 03:34:00 | | Came earlier than forecasted and lashed out strong winds and rains. At around 3:00 P.M. to 4:00, Lando played around uprooting trees, stripping billboards, battering structures that lays on roofs, poured rain until we could not see what is in front of us, and left howling like someone from hell. It lasted for about 2 hours, then it calmed down. That was yesterday, November 19, Monday. The Cebuanos of course were shocked. Because even with storms raging in Manila or some other parts of the country, our island is usually spared. We just lay there bright and sunny. The worst that we would get for tailends are gloomy skies or slight showers. But yesterday, we got a signal #2 storm that suddenly just came out of nowhere. That is why, the people got real mad with PAG-ASA (the weather forecaster) for not being able to tell exactly Lando's arrival. People and kids were drenched. Parents suffered anxiety fearing safety for their kids, and traffic took hours to unravel. Flights were canceled and inter-island ferries were not allowed to leave the docks. And then, there were blackouts...Today, we are now back to normal. ... | | By: Must Be That Girl! | | |
