| *Read this story | | 2008-05-11 06:20:51 | | I read this incident and I want to share it with all my friends. Spend 2minutes to read this...A teenage girl about 17 named Aisha had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year. She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Aisha asked Allah to keep her safe from harm and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her. She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for Allah's protection. Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her. When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely. The fo | | By: Praise be to Allah | | |

The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week."The programmer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you and do anything you want." Again the programmer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess that I'll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?"The programmer said, "Look, I'm a programmer. | Gas Prices - The Real Story | | 2008-05-06 06:29:19 | | How much is enough? How much profit from the sales of gasoline to the consumer is enough? The unparalleled profits of the major oil companies is at a staggering amount. The Oil companies have found the means to close the market so there is no price competition for gasoline, diesel or heating oil. The only logical answer? There seems to be collusion, and possibly a violation of the Sherman anti-trust act.On March 5, 2008 MSNBC reported that "the 12-nation Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries said it would maintain current production levels because crude supplies are plentiful and demand is expected to weaken in the second quarter."Recently, in our local newspaper (March 9, 2008) it was reported that OPEC President Chakib Kehelil is quoted as saying "the global market is well supplied, with current commercial oil stocks standing above their 5 year average." The article continued to say that "Today's prices do not reflect market fundamentals." If the prices are high, definitely t | | By: Global Warming Articles - Information on Global Wa

| An awful story of tragedy, an incredible expression of hope: Sean Reilly | | 2008-05-05 21:40:00 | | One of the greatest mysteries I’ve ever known was finally solved tonight, in as strange a way possible. I sat down earlier to watch some television, but since the Mets were playing at 10 p.m., there wasn’t all that much I was interested in. So I decided to check the onDemand menu to see what was new. When I went to the HBO section, I pressed the documentary section — and low and behold, there was one simply called “Coma.” The description was very appealing, so I decided to watch the show. And much to my amazement, I knew of one of the coma patients who was being profiled on the show. I’ll get back to that shortly. From 2004 to 2006, I was fortunate to serve as the youth minister at St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Summit. The parish, one of the wealthiest in the Archdiocese of Newark, is also one of the largest. There were literally thousands of families. My youth program, which was handed to me on a silver platter, was also one of the largest in the state. And my years there we | | By: The Hudson Line Blog | | |

| ICT - THE VALLEY OF THE DAMNED - Story but Petpositive | | 2008-05-01 10:48:00 | | IT is often said that Information and Communications Technology helps to significantly improve our quality of life. Now, that may be true largely for able-bodied persons. But if you happen to be a person with a disability in our society like I am – along with countless others who still, sadly, stay hidden in our homes; I am sorry to say this to you: As far as such technology is concerned, you are practically screwed! The huge rainfall lately spelt disaster for me when lightning struck from nowhere whilst I was working on my computer. Luckily the electrical force was not enough to deliver a lethal blow to my computer. My phone line, however, was pulverized. My immediate reaction was to switch everything off until the storm had cleared. Then my real nightmare began. As a weekly columnist and active blogger I had urgent deadlines to meet. There was no time to waste in getting my Internet up and running again. I almost jumped for joy when a Telekom | | By: What's Up | | |

| Incredible Love Story from China | | 2008-04-30 21:36:00 | | An incredible love story has come out of China recently and managed to touch the world. It is a story of a man and an older woman who ran off to live and love each other in peace for over half a century. Over 50 years ago, Liu, a 19 year-old boy, fell in love with a 29 year-old widowed mother named Xu. At that time, it was unacceptable and immoral for a young man to love an older woman. To avoid the market gossip, the couple decided to elope and lived in a cave in Jiangjin County in Southern ChongQing area. In the beginning, they had nothing, no electricity or even food. They had to eat grass and roots they found in the mountain, and Liu made a kerosene lamp that they used to light up their lives. In the second year of living in the mountain, Liu began and continued for over 50 years, to hand-carve the steps so that his wife could get down the mountain easily. Half a century later in 2001, a group of adventurers were exploring the forest and were surprised to find the elderly couple a | | By: Jokes and Forwards | | |

He is a former student of mine from Oratory Prep.Just three years ago, he was sitting in my religion class, and other classes, as a funny, sometimes obnoxious (in a good sense) high school senior. And now, the 20-year-old from Hillside is one of the thousands of men and women serving in the United States military in Iraq. | Another story over insurance | | 2008-04-22 12:24:27 | | A couple of days ago,I wrote about how important a term insurance is in our life. Besides this insurance, we also have an insurance where we can save money for our son. I don't know exactly how that insurance policy is called. Every month we pay 50 euro. IF something happen to us and we would BOTH not be able to pay the monthly fee anymore, our son still can go to school because the insurance company will take over the payments to save money for our son until the expiry date, meaning for example: If the money is 'locked' until his 18th birthday and we are both no longer capable of paying the fee( for whatever reason), the payments wil be done by the insurance company itself and when our son turns 18 the company will contact him :D the money is a garanteed amount.Do you have that kind of insurance for your children also??? | | By: Picturing of Life

| A Self-Deprecating Story | | 2008-04-20 14:26:53 | | This morning I wore socks that didn't match to church. And as I was putting them on I said to myself, "Well, they're close enough. They are both black and if anyone has enough time and energy to stare at my feet long enough to discover that they don't match, then they deserve the reward of discovering that they don't. I got interrupted from my train of thought, slipped on my shoes and was off to help someone find something or button something or break up a fight or some other wonderful chore I have on Sunday mornings.I made it through Sunday School and all but 10 minutes of the second service without giving another thought to my socks. After all, I had resolved the issue in my head. Until it was time for our prayer circle and I heard my usually stoic son, Leon, chuckling and looked at him and he had a big smile on his face. We were supposed to be praying, so I whispered "What's up?" at which point in time he pointed down to my feet. I looked down and realized for the first time | | By: Never a Dull Moment | | |

| Boondocks "The story of Gangstalicious pt 2" | | 2008-04-17 18:45:00 | | Ok so I'm a REALLY huge fan of this cartoon "The Boondocks". I came across it one day on a site, and weirdly enough I had never ever seen it on Adult Swim.Well, needless to say I found it hillarious... not only b/c it's entertaining and reminds me of the movie Friday (starring Ice Cube and Chris Tucker), but also the way the creators bring forth their points while being funny. The cartoon also intruiged me b/c it features the voices of John Witherspoon, Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Murphy's brother (can't remember his name right now), etc. Sometimes other entertainers have guest starred like Monique and some rappers. The Boondocks- The Story Of Gangstalicious Pt. 2Episode Detail: Much to the chagrin of Granddad, Riley starts to walk, talk, and dress like his favorite rapper, Gangstalicious. To interest others, Charlie must divide his new business into smaller pieces to give them some ownership. Charlie realizes, too, that by relinquishing some ownership, he would no longer be entitled to all the profits. However, he is willing to do this to secure the help of others. After exploring the advantages and disadvantages of the various legal forms of businesses, he decides to establish a "corporation." The principal reason for choosing a corporation rather than a partnership or any other form was financial liability. Charlie learn that no matter which legal structure is used, creditors always have first claim on the assets if the business fails. They could have deposited their money into a bank account rather than investing in the new enterprise. The money would have been safe and the bank would have paid them interest. Why would anybody be willing risk money - let alone $2 million - to start the New -Design Chair Company? The answer is simple:PROFITS.Charlie and his associates saw an opportunity to make a goood profit on each chair manufactured if the company met its business objectives. The stocjholders also saw the possibility of increasing their profits in later years if more chairs could be manufactured and sold. In short, Charlie and his associates figured they could achieve a much better on their money by investing in the new venture rather than receiving interest from the bank. Now time has passed, Charlie's projections were accurate, and the venture has been successful. | Reiki For Animals: A Padma Menon Story | | 2008-04-17 06:57:41 | | Reiki or energy healing is an alternative healing method of helping people heal by sending them universal energy. These methods are done by laying on our hands or by channeling the energy over any distance. These methods are based on principles that have been in use in the East and in other forms in the West, for thousands of years. Reiki is spiritually guided Universal Life Force Energy. The word Reiki is Japanese in origin and literally means: Rei = Universal (in the sense of spiritually guided or from the Divine); ki = Life force energy (the same as chi or prana). To "use" Reiki is to channel this energy through one's body to one's self or another for healing purposes. How did these share originate and how are the prices determined? For share to be traded from one person to another, a company must be created. How does it begin? Where does the money come from?Charlie, a young inventor, has just built a new light weight, folding chair having a superior design. Encouraged by family and friends, he decides to turn his hobby of building chairs into a full-time business rather than sell his patents to a large furniture company.Although charlie has savings that could be put into the venture, the amount is far short of the total capital necessary. He estimates the total cost of the factory, machinery, and initial money needed for product inventory to be approximately $2 million. These "assets" (the factory, machinery, inventory, and remaining capital) would be used to produce the chairs and maintain the new business. Lets look at a situation. You are through with the painting, curtains and décor and some accessories, and suddenly, you look at the picture perfect room and wonder, where is the punch..how do you break the color even..add that something which balances off the accent color and adds a lively vibrancy to the room. A big dasssssh of your personality to a décor wont look too bad either.or else the room will end up looking like a great remake of the perfect bedroom, without any personal touch
Well, I always say the smallest thing done in a thoughtful and creative way can do the wonder. A vase with a single tulip, a picture frame in accent color, a few complimentary or contrasting decorative pillows.all can just do great to bring in life to your décor.talking of pillow covers.must say they make a whole lot of difference when you know how to use them.take a look at a few of these beauties.

In the United States, which has the highest level of anxiety in the world, nearly 29 per cent of the population will experience a major episode of anxiety during their life. This anxiety is driven, Pearson believes, by our lack of a sense of place in the world. "To have a sense of place is to have some sense of what your purpose is, what your options are," she said in an interview in Montreal in a stop on her book tour. And many of us don't have that.

| The Musa Smith Story: Waiting to Exhale | | 2008-04-04 09:28:55 | | It has been over a full month since former Ravens RB Musa Smith hit the free agency. Personally, I expected him to make a big splash. I expected owners to look past his injuries that have come off from serious hits and falls, and not Donovanesque-run-out-of-bounds injuries. I expected owners to check the stats (2007: [...] | | By: NFL GridIron Gab | | |

| Story #72: "With apologies to John Lennon...The Long and Winding Road" | | 2008-04-02 17:55:00 | | (Via Sean Boyd)As a youngster, moving frequently and seemingly without purpose, I probably felt more tied to what my parents believed than a lot of kids, even when those things didn't necessarily make sense to me. It was an element of stability for me, I suppose. So I had a smattering of Sunday School here and there, and my mother in particular was always looking for the One Big Thing that would change all our lives for the better (Eckankar, anyone?) So, sophomore year of high school, my parents discovered the Seventh Day Adventist church. I was only 13, and still didn't really question them about a lot of things, and they seemed to think it was a great thing, and I jumped in head first along with them. And it was great...for about a week or two. Turns out, I saw many inconsistencies that no one else was willing to address. Aside from the whole disregarding science when it was convenient to do so attitude, these self-proclaimed "chosen people of God" (and they do believe that) were ea | | By: Coming Out Godless | | |

| Greatest Story Ever Told | | 2008-04-01 10:53:00 | | Last week on Monday, while I was just keeping changing the channel, I end up this movie “Greatest Story Ever Told.” I really liked the movie, because it is story of Jesus Christ and by watching that movie makes me really feel scared especially when the scene He was praying and His face shined and the clouds coming down and there was a voice said “this is my beloved son” and other scene also one of his Apostles asking and suddenly there is a voice “this is my son, you should listen to him,” by watching that movie makes me become not doubtful that there is God. As being a human being, we asked and wonder if there is really “God” and make us doubtful. I believed that there is God, because how could He talked to people by saying about humbleness, being good to others and Jesus Christ teaching goodness while living in this world. I liked this “Greatest Story Ever Told” movie since I liked stories about Jesus Christ. I planned to watch this movie again and will buy a DVD. | | By: My Trails In Life | | |

| Story #71: "It doesn't make any sense..." | | 2008-03-31 15:39:00 | | (Via Jennifer Curtis)I never really bought the whole "god" thing. From an early age my family went to mass on special occasions, or to participate in family functions. My mother and father only took us to church out of some weird traditional obligation, and the first memories of youth services were of choreographed song and dances with oppressive themes like spelling out the word "obey" and lame music. Around 13 or so my mother threatened me with private catholic school and I told her I'd drop out if she did (there were no music programs in this private school). When I reached high school I made friends with a bunch of nice girls who all attended a Methodist church across the street from my house. Since it was right next door, and all my friends went there and my parents supported me in this, I went regularly. The people there were all very nice and helped the community out quite a bit, but I never felt any different than before. I never experienced any presence in my life, nothing got | | By: Coming Out Godless | | |

| My Unpleasant Story with the Cube | | 2008-03-30 03:26:00 | | My 13 years old brother saw a video on youtube about the world record holder in 3X3 rubik's cube. This guy can solve it in 9.18 seconds. My brother was really amazed. So i decided to buy him one so he can play with it and improve his problem solving skills :)Once i finished work on Thursday, i went to a big toy shop in Madina Street. To my surprise, they told me that "we don't sell it here. No one asks for such toys". I nodded my head and headed to the next big toy shop in the same street and again i received the same answer. And the guys at the shop were staring to each other as if i am kinda freak with some social issues. At that moment, i realized that there's something wrong and i thought that maybe i am overrating this stupid rubik's cube.I continued my quest and roamed Amman's biggest toy shops (including 4 huge toy shops in Mecca Mall) in a desperate attempt to find that damn cube, but with no use. At CenterPoint Toy shop, 3 guys (2 Jordanian and an Indian) gathered around me tr | | By: Adel Blog | | |

| Tragic story of PSP stolen | | 2008-03-29 17:07:00 | | What is the world coming to? This next story of PSP theft is a true tearjerker. Kyle Springs, a seven year old cancer patient on his way to a chemotherapy appointment in Dallas gets his PSP stolen. Not only that, but his school homework, medicine, and medical records were also taken. Worst of all, it happened the day before his birthday. Tragic. There is some good news, however. Officers from the Dallas Police Department presented Kyle with a new PSP, and also raised more than $1,000 to pay for the lost medication. The PSP was important to Kyle; his mother stated that videogames helped alleviate the pain her son's condition inflicted. While Kyle's story is heartbreaking, it does raise some valid questions. Why is PSP theft seemingly on the rise? And most of all, is there really anything we can do to stop it?[Via PSP FB] | | By: X-Intelligence Krew | | |

| Revisiting the India story | | 2008-03-29 07:02:00 | | Indian stock markets have corrected by more than 15% YTDin sympathy with the global equity markets, as marketparticipants expected the US deceleration to also negativelyimpact Indian corporates. As a result, we are re-examining theIndia growth story and its growth prospects in light of slowingexternal demand and also the equity market outlook. In thefollowing section, we conclude that while economicfundamentals are partially decoupled from the external events, the stock markets might not decouple in the short term. Can India sustain its growth rate?India's economy has shown another year of remarkablestrength, with GDP growing at around 9% in FY 03/2008.Since growth seems to be slowing down everywhere else, theonly question is whether it will last. As global growth slows, theexternal impetus for the Indian economy will decline but, as weexplain below, the exposure of the Indian economy to globaltrade and thus the downside risks to growth in this regard arestill fairly limited.Low share of | | By: Indian stock markets | | |

| Sinbad Debunks Clinton Sniper Story | | 2008-03-26 01:08:58 | | Senator Clinton ducks from sniper fire behind a small child at Bosnian airstrip. The last time I saw Sinbad in a movie it was while flipping through Saturday afternoon television. His starring role was a secret service agent responsible for guarding the president’s son. The comedian has re-emerged in a new role as a Barack Obama supporter. Why is this important? Sinbad has some information that may help to debunk a statement told by Senator Clinton about their trip to Bosnia. In 1996, Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Sinbad, and others made a trip to Bosnia on behalf of the United States. Earlier this week Senator Clinton recalled her trip to Bosnia by saying, “There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.” Video from Bosnia in 1996 shows Senator Clinton being greeted by an 8 year old girl with flowers in her hand for the First L | | By: The Mersman Political Blog | | |

| Story #68: "Prayer didn't work" | | 2008-03-24 16:29:00 | | (Via Csaba)My mother was a caring parent. Hard-working and always ready to kiss the forehead of any of her two sons if he made a mistake and say "It's okay, Mom loves you no matter what".She had breast cancer once and somehow made it through, when I was a small kid, with support from my father. Then, after a few years, it appeared again and this time, she knew she couldn't survive the chemotherapy. She cried in front of me because she knew she was going to die. I prayed and I prayed and she still died bereft of her dignity because she was a completely different (eventually half-) person by the time the cancer had spread to her brain. She died weighing 90 lbs. (40 kg) at 5' 8'' (172 cm), almost having no hair at age 41. Our prayer didn't work.My father supported my mother as much as he could and although he eventually became an incurable alcoholic, he never laid his hand on any of us.
