But for a tuning house that regularly takes the fastest cars around and tinkers with them just for kicks, time – say, production dates and acceleration numbers – might not hold the same meaning as it does for the rest of us mere mortals.
Never minding that Lamborghini has ceased production of the Gallardo Superleggera to make way for the new LP560-4, German uber-tuners EDO competition has come out with a package for the stripped-out Raging Bull. With a simple twist of the ECU, a new catalytic converter and a carbon fiber air box, power is pumped up to 560 horses and torque to 398 lb-ft, dropping the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time down to 3.7 seconds and the top speed nudging 320 km/h (199 mph). EDO's also installed a variable-noise exhaust and dropped the right height by 15 mm and can outfit any of the 172 Superleggeras produced with custom-painted 19" three-piece modular rims.

After we had the privilege to post a Gallardo Superleggera spotted on the streets which is always pleasant to see, yet another has been spotted. I really can't get enough of its astonishing appaerance. The combonation with its dark grey color, dark rims and carbon fibre/alcantara materials is perfect in my eyes. More pictures? | | | 2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera…oh joy! | | 2007-06-12 18:25:32 | | While at the New York International Auto show (NYIAS) I was lucky enough to gaze upon the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Now, not only is the name a mouthful but just looking at the car made my mouth agape. The Gallardo Superleggera at the NYIAS was in a Borealis orange with dark gun metal gray wheels. The car is powered Lamborghini’s latest version of the 530HP V10 that revs all the way up to 8,000 rpm.
The Gallardo Superleggera is 154lbs lighter than the standard version of the Gallardo. The results of the weight reduction and improved engine is a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds than the standard model. An all suede interior only assists in making the Gallardo Superleggera even more of a luxury sports car. One aspect that helped reduce the weight of the car was a large incorporation of carbon fiber. As I said in my Lexus IS-F post ; if I won the lottery, the Gallardo Superleggera would be one of my first purchases.

Parece ser que estos días se esta cociendo todo el bacalao en Nurburgring, Alemania. De ahí nos llegan las terceras fotos espía en 2 días. Es este caso, según dicen las fuentes, estas son las imágenes del que será el Lamborghini Murcielago Superleggera, una versión que seguirá las pautas del Gallardo Superleggera y será ultraligero, con multiples paneles de fibra de carbono. No se sabe la potencia que alcanzará su motor, pero las apuestas indican que estará muy cerca de los 700cv. En breve conoceremos más detalles de este promrtedor modelo de Lamborghini.
