| Spain's Martinsa board meets after suspension | | 2008-07-14 16:40:00 | | MADRID, July 14 (Reuters) - Shares in Spanish property company Martinsa Fadesa were suspended on Monday after falling 25 percent on fears over its ability to meet debt obligations, which hit shares in one of its creditors. On Friday, the company said it had not been able to raise a 150 million euro ($235.7 million) loan, one of the conditions of an earlier 4 billion euro refinancing agreement, and asked its 45 banks for the deadline to be extended until Aug. 7.The stock fell 34 percent on Friday and was suspended on Monday at a historic low of 7.3 euros, valuing the whole company at 680 million euros. Its debts total 5.4 billion euros.Martinsa Fadesa, one of several Spanish property companies being pummelled by a sharp slowdown in the real estate market, began an extraordinary board meeting at 1430 GMT.

| | REPORT - Travis Henry Tests Positive...Again; Facing Suspension | | 2008-07-11 11:03:26 | | MyFox Colorado is reporting that former Broncos runningback Travis Henry has once again tested positive for marijuana and is facing a yearlong suspension.
A highly placed source in the NFL told Fox 31 sports reporter Josina Anderson that Henry failed the test that the troubled player would be "up for a suspension".
This comes after Henry had successfully appealed a positive test taken prior to last season. Claiming the test was a "false positive", Henry won his claim against the NFL, though as part of the agreement he remained in the NFL's substance abuser program.
Earlier this spring the Broncos released Henry stating that the former Bill and Titan was "too inconsistent as a person. When you're too inconsistent as a person, you usually aren't going to win championships,".
When the source was asked if Henry knew of the positive test, he replied, "“I was told this result is recent. [Henry] should already be informed. If he didn’t know, he knows now,”

The bike inside was in pretty bad shape more from a really bad packing and boxing job than from UPS. I called and Amazon was great about sending a replacement right away, and it arrived via a route that was not through Iraq. It looks and works great, with just minor adjustments, and my eight year old loves it. She is average height and it fits her well. She got the hang of the hand brakes and shifter right away too. Great value for the money.Pacific Horizon Girl's 20-Inch Dual Suspension Mountain Bike This is a nice little bike mountain bike. I would recommend this bike for anyone with a kid that has outgrown the little barbie bike and needs to pick up the pace a little or step up to the next level.Bike Review I bought this bike off a review. And it was true that the bike was easy to put together, but when it arrived there were three big gaping holes in the box and it turned out the front brake was broken. Even at its lowest position, the seat is at least 32 inches from the pedal. I contacted Schwinn but they could not help me on this issue. A 250 mm seatpost would be ideal for size small. The first of its kind, the BMX bicycle was named after bicycle motocross and was designed to fit the needs of the rough-and-tumble dirt-racing pastime that took its toll on wheels and bicycles. The heavy-duty, one-piece cast-aluminum Mongoose Motomag wheel was soon born, and it was the first competition-ready BMX bicycle available. Skip Hess, while in Australia pursuing his motor sports passion, came into contact with a strange and unusual cat-size animal--the mongoose. Known for its passive nature while unprovoked, yet vicious and aggressive enough to kill a threatening Cobra twice its size, the Mongoose impressed Hess, who quickly registered the Mongoose trademark for his new bicycle racing frame. The Expert BMX bicycle model, which is still a cornerstone of the Mongoose BMX line today, was introduced in 1980. Shortly after, Mongoose captured the first ever ABA National #1 Cruiser Title. Previously known for the 20-inch bicycle, this title signaled the re-direction of Mongoose bicycles to larger-wheeled, adult-sized models. Several years later, Mongoose continues to dominate the cruiser racing circuit with six National No. 1 Cruiser titles, leading to the introduction of adult-sized Mongoose all-terrain bicycles (ATBs).In 1992, Mongoose pioneered the full-suspension market with the introduction of the Amplifier. This design is still the most-copied suspension design in the market. Several year later, Mongoose launched the Newman adult bicycle frame, which is proven to be 15% stronger than any other bike frame in the market. The design, while functionally sound, also raised eyebrows because of its distinctive look.In the next few years, Mongoose increased its marketing focus to dominate the bicycle industry, and more important, extend beyond it. The Mongoose brand marketing initiative makes more than 100 million impressions. Mongoose's brand awareness increased by over 130% in 1999 and solidifies the No. 2 market share position in units and dollars. Mongoose was acquired by Pacific Cycle, LLC, and continues to grow and prosper with more than 40 models of BMX, mountain, trail, freestyle, jumping, comfort, road, and cyclocross bikes.Customer ReviewsPerfectly adequate given the price.I am amazed at the reviews given, not for just this bike, but for any cheap item on Amazon or elsewhere. What exactly do people expect when they are paying so little money? I just received this bike today and I'm quite satisfied with this purchase, given that I only paid less than one hundred dollars for this bike during a recent Gold Box deal.In reading many reviews of bikes purchased through Amazon, I was quite apprehensive of the assembly needed once I received delivery of the bike. But it turned out that indeed most of the bike was already pre-assembled. I'd say probably over 80% of the bike is already assembled. You only need to place the front tire on and then tighten the front handle bars. Lastly, attach on the foot pedals and that's about it. It took us about 40 minutes to install and I'm by no means adept with assembling bikes. Are their bikes out there which are better than this one? Of course. Can Mongoose improve on this bike? Absolutely. Can you use this for serious or professional outdoor mountain biking? Probably not. Do I plan to do that? No. If I did, I'd cough up $1000 and purchase a more serious bike to do that. Do I think this bike is worth the one hundred dollars I paid for it? ABSOLUTELY! Would I purchase it again for one hundred dollars? ABSOLUTELY. For the money, I think it's a great recreational bike. I will use this bike probably 5 times a week for about an hour or two at most riding around the neighborhood and nearby bike trails. So for me, it's more than adequate. I don't need anything more expensive currently. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with the bike for the money. I wholeheartedly give it 5 stars given the price I paid--less than one hundred dollars.I do have one concern with this bike. I haven't been able to raise the front handle bars to a higher level. I have to lean/hunch down too far to ride it as of now. I need to get this fixed and it should be a very nice ride given the amount I paid. This has more to do with me figuring out how to raise the handle bar than the design of the bike. I'm certain it's possible to raise the handle bar, but I haven't figured it out just yet.Not the best This bike is kind of hard to put together. Instructions are not the best. The ride quality is average. It is good for just getting around town. I would not go mountain biking with this bike. Good bike to buy on sale.Need to be an engineer to assemble!I purchased this bike a short time ago. I have been trying to assemble it for 3 days now. The pictures do not look anything like the bike. After I finally assembled it (on pure instinct), the front brake was difficult to adjust - but I managed. The back brake is broken and needs to be replaced - I think. The shifting unit was not factory assembled properly. I had to take the shifting unit apart, as well as take the back tire off of the bike, and re-assemble it for it to even function. Now that it is functioning, I am trying to adjust it to shift properly. I guess that was too much to ask, because it is still not working properly. However, the bike looks awesome. I can't wait to finally be able to ride it....although it will probably be snowing by then.....Tags: Mountain Bike, Mountain Bicycle, Mountain Bikes 2007, Mongoose Mountain Bike, Dual Suspension Mountain Bikes. | | By: Bicycle Reviews | | |

The move means that the starter will be back on the field for the teams home opener on September 23rd vs the Vikings, and the bigger game the next week at home vs the rival Chargers. Allen was suspended for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. Allen earned two DUI charges, which lead the league to hand down the punishment.

| | Steering and Suspension System - Auto Parts | | 2007-07-09 19:52:00 | | By Terry Brown Most car owners and drivers do not know a lot about their car's steering and suspension system. Suspension, when discussing cars, refers to the use of front and rear springs to suspend a vehicle's "sprung" weight. The springs used on today's cars and trucks are constructed in a variety of types, shapes, sizes, rates, and capacities. Types include leaf springs, coil springs, air springs, and torsion bars. These are used in sets of four for each vehicle, or they may be paired off in various combinations and are attached by several different mounting techniques. The suspension system also includes shocks and/or struts, and sway bars. Back in the earliest days of automobile development, when most of the car's weight (including the engine) was on the rear axle, steering was a simple matter of turning a tiller that pivoted the entire front axle. When the engine was moved to the front of the car, complex steeri | | By: Automotive - SageBlog | | |
| | Bucs CB Cox Appealing Four-Game Suspension | | 2007-07-06 14:33:20 | | Buccaneers cornerback and special teams standout Torrie Cox has appealed his four game suspension that was handed down on Tuesday. The agent for Cox, Peter Schaffer stated that “there were some serious issues of the due process violations.” Cox was suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. The suspension is due to start on August 31st, meaning that he would be able to play in the teams preseason games, but would have to miss the first four games of the regular season.
Reports state that Cox’s violation has something to do with alcohol, and the league’s rules are less specific about alcohol, while they are very laid out when it comes to narcotics or drugs. That is where Schaffer may feel he has a case with the league when it comes to appealing the suspension. If the appeal process for Cox lingers into the season, he would still be able to play until a ruling has been handed down.

ESPN reports that while still waiting on the facts on the latest incident in which Adam “Pacman” Jones is alleged to have been involved, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said here Tuesday that it is too soon to say if the Tennessee Titans cornerback violated the terms of his suspension. Jones is being sought for questioning by DeKalb County, Ga., police following an alleged verbal altercation inside an Atlanta-area strip club early Monday morning. The altercation allegedly led to a shooting a few blocks away from the club.
“I would prefer to wait until I know everything that went on before I comment specifically on the incident,” said Goodell, who is attending the NFL player health and safety conference dealing with concussions. “So I don’t know if ‘disappointed’ is a fair term to describe how I feel. | | Bears’ Johnson Draws Eight-Game Suspension | | 2007-06-05 00:11:10 | | Tank Johnson of the Chicago Bears was suspended by the NFL for the first eight games of the 2007 season for violating the league’s new personal conduct policy. The defensive tackle recently served a two-month jail sentence on a probation violation on gun charges. He is the third player suspended by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in just over a month for off-field behavior.
Goodell stated that Johnson’s suspension could be reduced to six games if he has no further involvement with law enforcement and undergoes counseling. After meeting with Goodell last month upon his release from jail, Johnson said that he was prepared to accept whatever punishment Goddell handed down and that his goal was to become the NFL’s “Man Of The Year”, the player who is considered the league’s “best citizen”.

| | Pronger Suspension: A Major Blow For Head-Elbow Relations? | | 2007-06-03 21:22:00 | | Despite Chris Pronger's best efforts to help his elbow become better acquainted with the heads of his opponents, the NHL decided to suspend him for game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. The reason? Dean McAmmond's selfish refusal to be over six feet tall. It's not Chris Pronger's fault that his elbows are naturally seven feet off the ground, or his fault that other player's heads keep getting in the way of them. He was just finishing his check. Sure, it might have been an illegal check, but he was just finishing it. Can't blame a guy for that, right? No word yet on the impact the suspension will have on ongoing skull/elbow peace talks, but the Ducks should be fine regardless. They beat Detroit the last time Pronger got suspended for being too tall---the Western Conference Finals. Three weeks ago. This is just more evidence that the NHL's recent rule change to crack down on players with a natural height advantage is working. | | By: Dear Lord Stanley | | |
