    Red Mazda in Swimming Pool
    2008-07-09 02:30:00
What an incredible accident!!! Ha! Ha!This photo released by Ashley Campasino shows a red Mazda Miata being pulled out from the bottom of the Campasino family swimming pool in Stewartstown, Pa. on June 30, 2008. Kim Taylor thought she had set the emergency brake. But her wayward red convertible nonetheless rolled downhill, crashed through a fence and plunged into her neighbors' in-ground pool.

    Swimming in Ass
    2008-06-27 06:00:00
Swimming in Ass. No, no... I'm not talking about the top four items on Hugh Hefner's "Things I Need to Do Today" list... (lucky bastard) I'm talking about my swimming pool. Pools. Now, for those of you who come here regularly, you know that I live in New England. As such, summer in New England lasts approximately a week and a half. If you take away the rainy days, this gives you about one or two days, tops, in which you can enjoy a swim in the pool. It's a great f*cking investment. My wife wanted a pool when we bought the house, SO... ...we got a pool. As part of this fantastic deal, I get to perform endless hours of labor trying to maintain the f*cking thing for said two days of swimming enjoyment. Hooray for me! For those of you in warmer climates (pricks), winter here consists: 1) shitloads of snow and ice 2) women bundled up like sherpas summiting Mt. Everest 3) horrific accidents where cars simply slide off the roads into trees, killing all inside Seriously, i

My husband did urge me to swim with him in the ocean as he was kept urging with me, so I did go with him, I suppose not to as I am somewhat scared might the shark will is there (lol). We did swim together until to the buoy, I just brought my water wing so that I do not get drown and I had fun swimming with him since it was raining too and the water is warm. After we did swim in the ocean, we swam also in our pool that was refreshing as it was a little bit cold due the rainwater. I felt glad I go with him swimming as that was good exercise for me and makes me feel good of myself.

Scarlett Johansson swimming in the nude

In this scene from her new movie, He's Just Not That Into You, Scarlett Johansson is naked, swimming in the nude, and getting you all hot and bothered. Except, she's probably not. At least not that we can see. In all likelihood, Scarlett Johansson is probably wearing some nude-coloured swimsuit or maybe something like those flesh-toned pasties we saw in those Megan Fox topless pictures. Still, as far as primitive brain knows, Scarlett Johansson is naked, and that's what I'm going to keep telling

    Swimming Pools Updated
    2008-05-25 07:34:53
Back in February, 2008 I published a post about the swimming pools in Singapore. I listed the pools around Singapore that have toddler and teaching pools. This is very useful if you don't live in a condo and need to find a convenient pool. One of the pools we like to visit is the School of Physical Education Swimming Complex on Evans Road. This pool was closed earlier in the year for renovations, so we were eager to visit again. We didn't notice any obvious 'renovations' to the complex when we visited last weekend-perhaps 'maintenance' is a better description as the tiles and paint are new. I also notices a couple of sun lounges which are definitely a new and welcome addition.Anyway, this pool is pleasant with a few palm trees and some grass surrounding the pools. It is right behind the hockey field so you can watch a game through the fence if you like. There is no toddler pool, but the teaching pool is shallow enough for my 4 year old to stand in but deep enough to have a proper swim i

    Hamachi Slowly Swimming Down Stream
    2008-03-21 15:00:00
Since the first time I posted about Hamachi Hamachi about two years ago (before Foodmayhem), I have returned several times, and they have slowly declined in my eyes. They were never amazing but a good bang-for-you-buck kind of place. After a while, the sashimi platters started getting a little sloppy and fish was sometimes tendonous. I would meet with friends for lunch there feeling like it was just ok because they had cheap and filling lunch specials.Today, I ordered-in (because I'm still sick) a Yosenabe. It will likely be my last act of patronage to Hamachi. The decision is long overdue. The soup base was boring, tasting mostly like cabbage. The piece of salmon was fishy. The bland white fish and chicken was skimpy and there was no clam although written in the menu description.I finished lunch feeling like I have felt this disappointment at Hamachi before so I need to document this to remind myself that I don't want to go again. We eat at so many places, that I often read my own blo

    Wandsworth Swimming pools
    2008-03-06 09:30:14
The Daily Telegraph report last week into swimming pool closures highlighted just how important swimming pools are to local communities. Not only for pleasure, for children, for health, they play an active part in local life. The odd Olympian may also be unearthed from time to time. Which is why it is important to keep the Borough's pools alive and this includes lidos, too. The Wandsworth lido in St George's Park was shut down in the mid-90s, at a time when local authorites were denouncing swimming pools over lack of funds and other baloney excuses.Swimming pools SW11 and WandsworthThe Tooting lido is one that has faced its struggles in the past, while others remain a threat. The Telegraph's investigation only served the significance and what can be done if Wandsworth, or for arguement's sake Clapham Leisure Centre (pictured), is ever faced with similar woes.Take a look at one of these for examples of campaigning:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/poolingresourceshttp://www.londonpoolscampa

How to find a swimming pool builder.
    2008-03-01 07:14:00
Finding a pool builder used to be one of two ways, the phone book or the guy your friend used. That was then, this is now.I have been telling my fellow pool industry associates for years the people they want to serve are online. My own website has been around longer than Google and thanks to Google and others like Yahoo I get all the business I can do.The Internet has changed everything about how people shop for swimming pools and pool products.I made a point some time ago about how a lot of pool companies have good websites and still don't do well in the online search results. That is one of the reasons I have my directory site. I have discovered another way for both swimming pool builders and potential pool buyers to connect. It looks like one of those "Win - Win" things. I don't see a downside at all. There is a website that will send you up to five pool builders who all want your business. These pool builders must meet certain guidelines to enroll. Not only do they pay to be included but

    Automatic Swimming Pool Cleaners
    2008-02-28 20:13:00
There a lot of things about caring for swimming pools that the old saying "there's more than one way to skin a cat" applies.Automatic Swimming pool Cleaners fit that to a tee, I know another saying...Generally speaking I have learned that like there are two basic types of pool cleaners, pressure side and suction side. There are two types of pool owners when it comes to some automatic cleaners. Those with greater scientific and mechanical aptitude and the time to take care of their pool. Then there are others who because of time or not being scientific or mechanical don't do as well or need more help.I clean pools each week. I have for years and years.I have learned some pool owners, those with the time and aptitude to adjust and monitor, love suction side cleaners like the Kreepy Krauly. I don't see this unit often because my customers don't have the time to work with a suction side cleaner. They don't want to deal with chemicals, cleaners or anything they don't have to. I have seen th

Swimming pool light blown, light won't work.
    2008-02-22 11:47:00
Today my routine for checking out a swimming pool light.Just like the one in the image to above. The tools, if you can't use these tools you should not try to work on your own pool light.Screw drivers, medium size straight and slotted, voltage meter/tester, electrical tape, needle nose pliers, thick towel, sharpie pen, safety glasses and gloves.First I look at the pool light. If it has water in the fixture, that's a problem.A new fixture may be in order, often after being wet inside they are ruined. If I see no water in the fixture and the bulb is not clearly blown. Blown looks like a dark spot one the bulb if you can see past the lens. When I arrive I ask to see the pool light switch. I always start there. Pulling out a light to find a tripped circuit breaker is not a good thing.I test the switch both on and off for voltage. If I have power and voltage the switch and breaker are good.No transformer skip down to next section.Next the transformer (low voltage 12 volts systems). When you turn

    Opening a swimming pool
    2008-02-18 22:18:00
I opened a pool today.!8x36 liner vinyl liner.Opened it by myself in about an hour and a half.It had a solid safety cover. The cover was clean and ready to come off.I loosened the spring straps all the way around. Lowered the strap anchors around the shallow end deck. So I wouldn't snag the cover. I just pulled it back about five feet, then folded every other seam to seam. It was a lot of back and forth grabbing the seams where you can. Worked the wrinkles out, rolled it up, pulled the bag over it, tipped it on my two wheeler and down to the shed.I brought the rails back from the shed, placed the stair panel rail then the deep end ladder. Tightened them down with a half inch wrench. Don't forget the ladder bumpers.Removed the gizmo's from skimmers and placed the baskets.Installed plug in the filter, site glass and pressure gauge.Small plug 1/8", in the Polaris pump. Two plugs in the main Hayward pump.Prime the pump and go.Tested the water, added some shock. The pool was a little cloudy a

Swimming pool salt systems, chlorine generators, saltwater pools, salt water pools, sws
    2008-02-10 13:25:00
Swimming pool salt systems, chlorine generators, saltwater pools, salt water pools, sws, no matter how you say it, I don't think I want one.It seems to me the potential for problems are too great.I've read enough on my fellow bloggers page, The Pool Biz, to wonder why anyone would want one.Assuming all he says is true, and I believe it is, because it all makes sense, not only makes sense, he backs it up with data to prove his points. So much information it would take hours and hours to read it all, so far I've come close to reading it all.Not one of his points has been challenged in a way to make me think he is wrong.I don't know who he is beyond "The Pool Guy" at his blog.He is, in my opinion, a champion of the swimming pool owner. He has no ads on his page, does not promote his own pool service business. The only thing he does on his blog is explain why salt is bad for you and your pool. Here is a short list of the things I have learned.Salt pools can cause some very bad staining.Salt po

    Swimming in public pools
    2008-02-09 07:32:00
Personally I am all swimed out. There is little or no chance I would be swimming in a public swimming pool.I am talking about apartment, condo, hotel or motel pools. If you plan to swim in a public swimming pool, for the protection of you and your family there is one thing I would do.Every time without fail, test the water myself. Each day before any swimming starts, I would use my own test to see how the pH and disinfectant was reading.I would not under any condition swim in a pool that uses anything other than chlorine for the disinfectant, period. You can still get sick swimming in a pool that is perfectly balanced, the risk is much lower if it is in balance however. I would not swim in a pool that has small children swimming, those still using diapers. I don't care what kind of rubber pants or other method is being used to contain their accidents. You should buy and learn to use a pool test kit.The test strips would be my choice in this case. The directions are clearly marked on how to u

Swimming Pool Fence - Yes, you need one.
    2008-02-05 19:51:00
Through the years I have been over the fencing issue many times. With customers, face to face.Their best answer to NOT get one is always the same. They are ugly. Some of you may not like what I say here or how I say it.When I get this I just want to shake them!My reply is always as standard as their protest of ugly.No sir... I'll tell you what ugly is.Ugly is watching a dead body pulled from your swimming pool.Ugly is being blamed, ugly is looking into every eye you see knowing they blame you.The people who sell these won't talk to you like this. But I will, If you do not lock your swimming pool area some how...Shame on you!I will now take the time to thank you for installing a fence.THANK YOU!I thank you and the life you may have saved thanks you. That's it, that's all you get for doing it. YEAH!If you don't, you may spend the rest of your days asking why?Why didn't I install a fence?OK lecture over...Some nice easy to install pool fencing.Just take it down when you don't want to see it.Pu

Brand new swimming pool liner ripped.
    2008-02-03 13:17:00
The company I worked for installed a new liner once.We had it filled, water balanced and running. We handed the pool over, said goodbye,That was friday morning.Monday morning she was calling about water loss. YIKES! we hate to hear those words.I was the lucky tech assigned to the case.I got there and as I walked through the gate I could see the pool.It looked very strange from this far angle. As I got closer the sides seemed to be moving in waves.I couldn't hardly believe my eyes. I ran to turn off the pumps and water hose.Back to the pool, as the motion of the water calmed down I could see it all.About every foot, running in vertical lines on the walls there was a slice in the liner. Here and there accross the floor the same thing. Some of them were only an inch or two, others a foot or two.I was shocked, how could this have happened?Vandals? Those damn Vandals! But why such even cuts? And why so many? They were all the way around, spaced very evenly. This was too strange... I pulled up a ch

Swimming pool FAQ, message board and blog help pages. The internet is loaded with places to find tips, tricks and free advice for your swimming pool. The answers to swimming pool questions found there are often as varied as those who run those sites. Some of the swimming pool FAQ's are part of a site that has FAQ's on hundreds of topics.Frequently asked questions is what FAQ stands for, it could as well mean frequently answered questions.Often the mix of answers is as varied as the users who visit there.A simple question often has hundreds of answers, from the correct to the down right silly. Many of these sites should adapt the wiki method and just let everyone fine tune one answer.Message boards are another place where getting good answers is a hit or miss affair. They try to have a conversation using short questions with short replies.Often the message boards are run by true swimming pool experts who monitor those pages closely.Others are run by someone who has had a week or two experien

    Swimming with the Fishes
    2008-01-24 17:59:00
Taste, if you can survive it and are not on a save the species diet, fish could be a fabulous way to attack the fat.Rich in omega-3 and a natural source, fish are fantastic. Don't be scared! Oil ridden these critters might be, but fattening they are not. Unless scrambling your brain, and eating fried Catfish, Sablefish, Pompano or Atlantic Mackerel, is common practise for you, the fatty fish myth would be real. Saturated in vitamins, these will help maintain a balanced diet.Protein packed, muscle building will be made easy. Needless to say what that will do, I'll say it anyway. Fat will be burnt and your metabolism will be raised. Research on protein has found that it aids in the consumption of fat in the liver and creates a "thermic" effect increasing metabolism.Far from chocolate cake, but none the less exotic tasting, fish will fight the flab. If you like fish, read no further here (and read another post), but for those with limited or inquisitive palettes, I must urge that you read

Had Lots Of Fun Swimming With The Dolphin
    2007-10-20 23:47:00
My husband and I went Discovery Cove, I had lots of fun here, and we come here during my birthday. The price to get in here is somewhat expensive $$, but you will not regret if you like to swim with the dolphin and to do snorkel. In addition, they have also some interesting to do in here and you will not be get bored, besides the food is included, snacks and drinks too and you will get admission for SeaWorld, it is not bad at all. The customer service was excellent. It was always my dream to swim with the dolphin and it came true as we come here and I did swim with the dolphin and kissed too. :) When we were here, we did snorkel. The water was cold but it was okay, because I wore a wetsuit and it is fun to swim with the fishes with different colors. I never saw a huge stingray before and this is the only place where I saw big stingrays, it was amazing and I did touch some small stingrays’ too. We had great time in Discovery Cove.

Swimming with Dolphins in Great Exuma
    2007-10-20 15:45:00
=Nowhere in the world is swimming freely with dolphins an easier and more exciting adventure than in The Bahamas. It is where countless visitors travel to relax on unspoiled beaches, take in stunning scenery, enjoy warm people, and of course, swim in the wild with dolphins. It has become a popular attraction in Great Exuma Bahamas.Numerous diving programs are offered throughout The Bahamas, making swimming with dolphins a comfortable and wonderful activity for tourists and locals alike. Part of the amazement lies in observing them in their natural habitat, as you dive into open waters along coral reefs. Swimming with Dolphins Thirty years ago, swimming with dolphins was less common an event than it is today. At the time, a diver would spot one, maybe two, dolphins. Now, the experience can include an entire family unit. Dolphin encounters take place around the globe, but The Bahamas is recognized as one of the great centers where swimming with dolphins is possible.Much can be attributed to the natural beauty of the countless islands and cays in The Bahamas. Wild dolphin encounters occur regularly in Bimini, Grand Bahama, the Abacos and Great Exuma Bahamas, just to name a few. You can touch, interact, and even hand-feed these amazing mammals in their natural habitat. But before you start swimming with dolphins, you might want to learn some facts about them. Dolphin 101 · Most dolphins have acute eyesight· They have a sense of hearing superior to that of humans· They have a well-developed sense of touch· They range in length from 1.2 m (4 ft) to 9.5 m (30 ft)· They can weigh anywhere from 40 kg (88 lb) to ten tons· They are social, living in pods (also called “schools”) of up to a dozen mammals· They are found mostly in the shallower seas of the continental shelves· They are carnivores that eat mostly fish and squid· They use their sonar to communicate with each other· There are almost forty species of dolphin worldwideDolphins and Humans Dolp

    Chinese Child Abuse: Swimming Lessons?
    2007-10-04 15:23:00
China will host the 2008 Summer Olympics this year-- a high recognition for a country embattled in human rights abuses. As of late, China has been struggling with a different kind of abuse. No, it's not religious or political persecution. It's a form of child abuse and exploitation: over-zealous sports training.A 10 year old Chinese girl swam in a river for three hours with her hands and feet bound. Her parents watched from land as she struggled in what her parents called "training. Swimming lessons? Hardly! A parent who wants to see a Chinese swimming victory should get in the pool himself! In June, a Chinese Olympic firm that makes products for the upcoming games event admitted to using child labor! China is up to its neck in wrong-doing allegations which infringe on basic human rights. Does this mighty country deserve the Olympics? No-- it's people deserve a massive revamp of the right to unexploited life.

So you were swimming? In the center of Prague?
    2007-10-02 01:02:00
Well, there is no chance to use this right in the center of Prague. In the old building full of offices. Unless he was diving in the nearby Vltava river. But still, this is strange. On Thursday there was a girl drinking her coffee right here sitting in this window. But she was gone seconds before I found my camera.

CD Review: Lumatic - Swimming to the Hook
    2007-09-20 23:24:00
CD Review:   Artist: LumaticTitle: Swimming to the HookWebsite: http://wwwlumaticmusic.comStyle: Alternative / Rock / IndieBy Staff Writer L. Anne Carrington   Escape to the bottom of a dark blue ocean and hear the gentle sounds and see the beautiful sights drifting there.   This is what best describes Swimming to the Hook, the debut CD from the New York-based group Lumatic.   The band was formed by Katherine Miller (singer/ keyboards/ laptop) after she graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with a degree in music composition. Performing Mozart for the first time at the age of 5, followed by years of writing abstract electronic and instrumental music, Miller made the decision to go toward more "user-friendly" musical aspects.   Lumatic plays music that is both sweet and edgy, fusing ambient pop and experimental rock. There is not a false moment on this CD, and Miller's range and artistic restraint hint at all of her capabilities for even more musi

Mum, we're going swimming (to Podoli, Prague's best swimming pool :)
    2007-07-17 21:25:00
Podoli is part of Prague with the best (and the biggest) swimming pool. There were tens of cars parked everywhere and trams were full of *going to* and *going from* swimmers of every age.And there is more! Zlute lazne ("Yellow baths") is a place at the Vltava river with a beach and all you can have near a typical tourists driven beach (they have a little ski slope in winter here, too :). Zlute lazne is very trendy. They must have great marketing/PR team because they had a tv reality show here last year, all of the fashion magazines do their summer shooting here. And I love that inflatable thing the girl has. Is it a centipede? :)

Hot swimming pools are new attractions to tourists in Tuba town Baluda
    2007-06-17 01:50:01
TUBA, Benguet - The swimming pools with hot water established by private investors in recent years in this town adjacent to Baguio City have started as an attraction to local and foreign tourists, according to outgoing municipal mayor Jose Baluda. He said that the increase of tourists only started early this year as a result of the eco-tourism campaign done by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the past five years in this western part of the Cordillera mountain ranges in northern Luzon. Records show that prior to these swimming pools, the main attraction of the town some 230 kilometers north of Manila had been the world-famous Asin hotsprings and the Brown Madonna on the Rock cave chapel. How Safe is YOUR Swimming Pool?
    2007-05-25 21:47:00
Whether or not you have a swimming pool, if you live in the United States of America, I want to let you know that there are children dying because our pools are not fenced in. I just learned that 85% of the apartment buildings in Los Angeles County are not required by law to have a fence. This is completely and utterly outrageous and we need to get busy writing letters and making phone calls to the officials we've elected!!!!!! For your convenience, here is a website to help us contact our local officials within our country. All you need to do is type in your zip code and their names will come right up: Find Your Elected Officials It's not up to he or she to do this, it's up to you and me, my dears. READ ABOUT THIS HEREPractice non-violence in your lives. You will be leaving your children a beautiful legacy.
