Our Windows department at work recently begin upgrading individual workstations to this new version and Blue screen errors began almost immediately. | Symantec: Windows ist das sicherste Betriebssystem | | 2007-03-23 04:55:28 | | Häufig wird dem Softwareriesen Microsoft nachgesagt, man würde unsichere Produkte mit Sicherheitslücken und Schwachstellen auf den Markt bringen. Die Sicherheitsexperten der Firma Symantec räumen nun mit diesen Vorwürfen auf. "Im Vergleich zu seinen kommerziellen Konkurrenten, ist Windows das sicherste Betriebssystem", so Symantec. Schon seit dem zweiten Halbjahr 2006 beschäftigt sich Symantec mit dem "Internet Security Threat Report". Hierbei geht es unter anderem um die Sicherheit von Betriebssystemen.In diesem Beobachtungszeitraum fiel das Betriebssystem Windows aus dem Hause Microsoft vor allem durch die kurzen Reaktionszeiten bei Sicherheitslücken und die gerinige Anzahl von Schwachstellen positiv auf. Während dieser Zeit wurden in Windows 39 Sicherheitslücken entdeckt, von 12 Lücken ging ein hohes Risiko aus. Im Schnitt brauchte Microsoft rund 21 Tage um einen Patch zu veröffentlichen. Damit hat sich Microsoft zwar im Vergleich zum ersten Halbjahr verschlechtert, ist aber dennoch das sicherste Betriebssystem gegenüber den anderen vier Mitstreitern im Test.Immerhin auf den zweiten Platz hat es die Linux-Distribution Red Hat geschafft. Dort brauchte man im Schnitt 58 Tage um eine Anzahl von 208 Sicherheitslücken zu schließen. Auch Red Hat musste eine Verschlechterung gegenüber dem ersten Halbjahr hinnehmen. So hat das Unternehmen ein halbes Jahr zuvor durchschnittlich lediglich 13 Tage gebraucht, um 42 Sicherheitslücken auszubessern.Die weiteren Plätze gingen an Mac OS X mit 43 Sicherheitslücken in durchschnittlich 66 Tagen, HP-UX mit 98 Sicherheitslücken in rund 101 Tagen und Solaris mit 63 Sicherheitslücken in satten 122 Tagen. | | By: Manu's Blog | | |
