| Takeshi Nii | | 2008-06-09 21:06:00 | | Takeshi Nii designed the Ny Rocking Chair and Ottoman in 1958, after he was inspired by an ad for a director’s chair in an archival magazine from the 1930s. Using the same basic structure – a simple folding frame wrapped with durable canvas – he designed Ny to be a lounge chair. Ny, which is pronounced nee and is the Danish word for “new,” remains an innovative concept in folding chairs 50 years after its introduction. At only 14.5 lbs, the Ny folds into a compact 5.5" form that can stand on its own discreetly in the corner, or be easily picked up and moved wherever an extra lounge chair needed. Said Nii of the design, “I wanted to produce a chair where one can just sit and relax after eating a nice meal.” The Ny Rocking Chair is included in the permanent collection at MoMA. What looks to be a simple cubic form to start out with turns into an organizers absolute dream. With drawers on every side and no space wasted, there are plenty of areas to place items of any size and shape. The fractal 23 bureau is not in full out production but I really wish it was because it would definitely solve some of my storage needs.takeshi miyakawavia core77

| RTL 2: “Takeshi’s Castle” kehrt ins deutsche Fernsehen zurück | | 2007-05-23 19:29:04 | | Unglaublich, aber wahr! “Takeshi’s Castle” ist eine Action-Spielshow, die ursprünglich in den 80er Jahren in Japan ausgestrahlt wurde. 100 Kandidaten haben die Aufgabe, die Burg von Fürst Takeshi einzunehmen. Zuvor müssen sie verschiedene Herausforderungen meistern.
In Deutschland wurde das Format in den Jahren 1999 bis 2001 vom DSF ausgestrahlt. Nun kehrt die Show ins deutsche Fernsehen zurück. RTL 2 zeigt die neu geschnittenen Folgen ab dem 3. Juli 2007 im Nachmittagsprogramm um 16.05 Uhr.
