In national parks, off-road driving is prohibited so wildlife can be easily approached. We traveled by 18-foot flat-bottom boat on the Rifiji River in the Selous Game Reserve as an alternative way to see elephant, cape buffalo, hippo, crocodile, waterbuck and numerous birds.

| | Travel to Tanzania | | 2008-04-05 17:09:00 | | Tanzania, that east African nation with the beautiful, exotic name is a new travel destination for many. The nation’s rich cultural heritage and diverse landscape makes for a once in a lifetime adventure to this land of cerulean hued waters, snowed capped mountain peaks and thrilling safaris on the plains of the Serengeti. This nation, roughly twice the size of the state of California is also home to the famous Masai tribe, some of the world’s most strikingly statuesque people.Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak often called the roof of Africa at 15,100 feet and enjoy the view of the surrounding plains or travel to the heart of Masai country, also in northern Tanzania to visit Ol Donyo Lengai. This active volcano, measuring close to 10,000 feet in height is located in the Rift Valley. The view from its north from its summit looks over the sweltering yet extraordinary salt flats of Lake Natron where few animals live but the flamingo makes its home.

Kenia y Tanzania | | 2008-03-11 03:43:16 | | Siempre he querido ir a África.

| | On safari in Tanzania | | 2007-07-02 05:06:00 | | The young Masai warrior who is with us begins to laugh, long and deep. This is clearly the funniest thing he’s heard in a while. It’s like a Masai telling us he would survive in London by asking a passer-by for £100.

| | Agathon Rwasa demands $12 million to stop killing people - Tanzania admits bankrolling the FNL | | 2007-01-30 17:28:00 | | From the East AfricanThe growing restlessness of the rebel leaders drove the countries involved in the regional initiative to arrange a meeting in Dar-es-Salaam last week in which the FNL leaders were persuaded to fulfil their obligations under the ceasefire agreement and return to Bujumbura. Sources close to the process told The EastAfrican that it was made specifically clear to the rebels that their $12 million claim to, among others, clear war debts, would not be honoured under the terms of the deal. Another source in the Tanzanian government also revealed to The EastAfrican that “it was made clear to the rebel leaders that they could not continue to lounge in the hotels here, while we paid all their bills and gave them a per diem.” | | By: Agathon Rwasa | | |
