Tr2n (a.k.a. Tron 2), complete with Light Cycles, headed to theaters
    2008-07-27 13:10:00
Disney is planning a sequel to its cult classic, Tron. Jeff Bridges reprises his role as Flynn, though the character may take on a more menacing tone in part two. Teaser footage was unveiled just yesterday at the San Diego Comic Con. While Tron was just moderately successful at the box office, the film's legend has grown along with its 80s-era fans, enough to earn itself a sequel over two decades later. The Light Cycles starred in what was perhaps the original film's most iconic scene, and they make a grand comeback in Tr2n, the tentative (and very unfortunate) name of the sequel.Seriously, watch the crappy, clandestinely-obtained footage from the convention panel after the break. Color us super excited based on this early teaser. When we see a proper copy of this, we'll likely be even more stoked. Seriously, how cool are the new Light Cycles? We think they look awesome in their new uncovered form, and the updated graphics make us hope that the new story, said to be written by Edward K...

    Giant Hulk Statue Invades Theaters!
    2008-05-03 18:39:10
If you went to see Iron Man this weekend, it's very likely you saw the new "life size" Hulk statue sitting in the lobby somewhere.I always admire (and critique) the in-theater marketing efforts that the studios send out, and this time this one is worth mentioning. Like The Simpsons Movie couch and Silver Surfer statue last year, this is becoming the "talk of the town," at least when it comes to marketing material. The statue is for this summer's upcoming Incredible Hulk movie. I suppose Univer...

    Children In Movie Theaters
    2008-02-07 14:00:05
The hell is up with parents taking their kids to R-rated movies after 10pm? There’s a reason people go to the theater that late, and it isn’t for the jacked up ticket prices - it’s to avoid children. A couple years ago, some friends and I decided to see the worst movie ever, The Hills Have [...]...

Best Home Theaters Money Can Buy
    2008-02-05 14:45:00
Just as time goes by there seems to be a growing trend amongst those people lucky enough to afford it / mental enough to spend all available cash on it: home cinemas. huge screens, incredible sound systems and luxurious seats are popping up in seemingly spare rooms and basements larger than my entire flat. however this is also giving a few movie geeks a real chance to shine and it seems they’re...

    Hitman the Movie in theaters
    2007-11-22 20:08:16
A gun-for-hire known only as Agent 47 is ensnared in a political conspiracy, which finds him pursued by both Interpol and the Russian military as he treks across Eastern Europe. hired by a group known as "The Agency" to kill targets for cash.As we are all well aware of most film adaptations of video games are usually very poor. This is not the case with Hitman. Hitman has done something that no other video game film has been able to pull off before. It is entertaining to the general audience who has not plaid the video game, by use of witty remarks, dark humor, and excellent action scenes. On the other hand fans of the video game series will be pleasantly surprised that Hollywood has not butchered the concept of the video games. There has been much debate over the actor who played 47; all actors did an excellent job. I was very pleased.Bottom line: If you enjoy the video games – see it. If you don't know anything about the video games but want to see a movie similar to Bourn Identit...

Oddworld is Coming to Theaters and TV
    2007-11-19 16:41:00
Oddworld Inhabitants' action/puzzler is coming to both theaters and television. GameIndustry.biz talked with Lorne Lanning from Oddworld Inhabitants and he told them there are currently four Oddworld projects in the works; a CG movie, a TV series and two unknown projects. Lanning also mentioned all four projects will use game technology, whatever that means.I liked Abe's Oddysee (1997, PS1), but only played demos of Munch's Oddysee (2001, Xbox) and Stranger's Wrath (2005, Xbox). Overall I really like the Oddworld universe, maybe because there are plenty of alien farts and burps. I look forward to more game titles as well as the movie and TV series....

September Dawn opens in theaters Friday, August 24th
    2007-08-31 21:25:24
I know I've got to see this movie. When something "ticks off" the Hollywood critics this big, I personally can't wait to get a seat and watch it!September Dawn, the controversial and much-maligned film by respected film director Christopher Cain (Young Guns, The Principal), is getting panned and slapped by critics like few movies have of late. Why? Because they don't like the subject matter maybe? Or they don't feel it's politically correct enough? Or who knows? If indeed it's just a "bad film" then that's what should be said. But I'm not reading a lot about the quality of the film...I'm reading a lot of mean-spirited name calling. Yet the people from the film, from crew to stars, are not stooping to that level or rolling in the gutter. That makes me lean in their direction.I, for one, will definitely see September Dawn. Hope you see it, too, then write your own reviews. Let's hear what movie-goers and ticket-buying American audiences think of it, not just what some biased "industry cr...

In Theaters May 4th - September Dawn, by Christopher Cain. Starring Jon Voight, Terence Stamp and Dean Cain
    2007-04-09 19:11:34
Filmed last year, this big screen action epic film by acclaimed producer, director and screenwriter Christopher Cain (YOUNG GUNS, THE PRINCIPAL) is coming to theaters May 4, 2007. September Dawn boasts impressive talent in the form of actors Terence Stamp, Jon Voight and Dean Cain, co-starring Lolita Davidovich and Jon Gries.September Dawn is a fictional love story set against the backdrop of the somewhat controversial Mountain Meadows Massacre that occured September 7-11, 1857. "The film brings up some very significant questions," said Dean Cain.Though the film's story is fiction, the historic story behind it is based on fact. "I was a history major in college and I read a lot about it," said Dean. "I do know that everything said by Brigham Young in the film is taken from historical records."PLOT DESCRIPTION: Director Christopher Cain takes an up-close look at the devastation wrought by religious fanaticism with this romantic drama set against the backdrop of the 1857 Mountain Meadows...
