    Thieves Target Online Travel Sites
    2008-06-11 03:46:00
Online travel sites and airplane parts manufacturers are among the biggest victims of cybersquatting, false association, pay-per-click abuse and domain kiting, according to a new report from security vendor MarkMonitor. The vendor points to the increased risk in those business sectors in its newly released Brandjacking Index for the spring. The findings reflect a trend observed by other security experts who have found, among other things, that the bad guys are using search-engine optimization (SEO) tricks to get their bogus sites higher in the search rankings. Trends noted in the report included: The rise of online auctions for fraudulent travel vouchers. The average discount for the more than 150 listings analyzed was 80 percent under face value. With the recent airline industry bankruptcies, increased cases of online fraud related to refunds, credits and vouchers are likely. The growing success of search engine optimization tactics. Through higher search rankings, scammers divert Int...

    THIEVES AND DETECTIVES
    2008-04-02 11:25:51
All the players are given the sheets of paper with the figure (1 or 2). The number of the sheets of paper with the figure 1 is equal to the number of sheets of paper with the figure 2. The players choose the leader - the main thief. He/she goes out of the room. The players who are in the room hide any object there. The leader's task is to find it. He/she tries to find the object with the help of the players-thieves (they have figure 1 on their sheets of paper). The players-thieves show place where the object is hidden by their eyes. The task of the detectives (they have figure 2 on their sheets of paper) is to watch the players and find the thieves among them. The game is over when the hidden object is found or when all the thieves are "caught" by the detectives.DETERMINE THE LENGTHCLAPSFAMILIAR NOISES...

    Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves

CRACK, COKE & EXTORTIONHere at The Pink Flamingo, I’ve never been shy about dealing with subjects that other more important blogs might hesitate to tackle.  I guess the reason is I just don’t care.  I’m going to say what I think and what I see as provable fact which isn’t necessarily “truth” – which is a variable.  This being the case, I am going to tackle the Larry Sinclair allegations about Barack Obama.I don’t care about his ‘sexual’ antics. That is his wife’s problem. It doesn’t bother me a bit. What does bother me, considering the fact that ......

Catalytic Converters: Thieves target the pod of precious metal
    2008-02-16 14:02:21
Filed under: Garage, Maintenance, SUVs, Trucks/Pickups Bulging in the exhaust system like a rabbit deep in the belly of a boa, the catalytic converter cleans engine fumes before they are released into the air. To the inexperienced, the oversized metal cylinder looks rather uninteresting. To a thief, it is a pod of precious metal worth nearly [...]...

Dirty grubby thieves (I want my fishing gear back)
    2008-01-27 03:29:21
I am grumpy, no scratch that, really really angry. Dad and I had planned a nice Australia Day holiday fishing trip all week. However, when I turned up Dads house today to prepare the boat (ie. tie all the rigs and make sure Dad has put the bungs in) I found out that all my Penn and Okuma rods and reels (some almost new) have been stolen - leaving me with only a couple of $20 supermarket special combos. So not only am I out of pocket for rods I can't really afford to re-buy at the moment - it's a holiday tomorrow so I can't get to the shops to replace the stolen rods anyway!!So all that means - NO fishing tomorrow!!Even worse is the feeling that someone grubby has been in your stuff and gone through your personal items - it really does feel like you have been violated! Not a happy Australia Day really! However, putting everything back in perspective I must say I live in a great country and have lots more than many others in the world. If the person who stole my rods and reels ever reads ...

    Women, Stop Identity Thieves!
    2008-01-11 21:40:08
Identity theft is rising every day around the world. There are thousands – maybe even millions of scammers sitting in scrunched up offices, executing their plans to steal your identity and profit from it. Women are the most vulnerable because we are the most trusting. My good friend, Mo, passed this on to me, and now I pass it on to you. I do hope you will print it out and take the advice of her...

    Thieves, rapists, killers… immigrants?
    2007-07-02 18:12:03
Here in the United States, and in many other nations as well, it is difficult to avoid the debate over immigration and immigration reform. I have, however, mostly avoided posting on the topic. The term shows up in a few posts, true, but mostly it is peripheral. Among the issues related to immigration are health care costs, public service costs, and immigration’s effect on such things as tax revenue, jobs, business, and crime. This latter particularly grates at me. I realize that it simply isn’t possible to have unrestricted borders, however ideologically appealing that might be to some. Still, the argument from crime annoys me. It annoys me because this is not my experience with immigrants. My experience, while not conclusive in any sense, is much the opposite. My experience is that immigrants are ridiculously hard workers. I wouldn’t even enter that contest. This, obviously, might mean that there is something to arguments revolving around jobs and business. It does...
