Hooray disorganization (double hooray made up words)!* First of all - seeing Tom Cruise having fun and turning off the intense-o-meter is a welcoming, funny change. Whether or not the role itself would be half as funny without Cruise, I leave for you to decide. One thing that was decidedly unfunny, though, was the "wild and carazy" love of hip-hop and dancing. Less offensive than just plain lazy, it showed a real weakness in the film's writing, where it was otherwise strong.* With that said, of course I found Matthew McConnaghey's role to be much more of a career booster and more interesting than Cruise's. | Cumulonimbus Thunder-storm Cloud at Sunset | | 2007-07-20 09:04:00 | | Huge Cumulonimbus Thunder-head and Storm Front at SunsetStorm Clouds at SunsetI've been browsing through my old photos lately, and this is one of the shots that turned up. This photo depicts a cumulonimbus cloud heading a storm front, with the main thunder-head rendered in a pinkish hue due to the late evening sun reflecting off it. The storm clouds themselves are a threatening deep blue, and the black silhouette formed by the treeline and rooftops at the bottom of the image only serves to intensify the general atmosphere of foreboding. This photo, I think, truly imparts a sense of awe at the great power of creation.Moving on to a lighter note, this photo again uses a rough approach to the "rule of thirds". The silhouette forms the lower one-third of the image, the blue clouds another third, and the pink "anvil" of the cumulonimbus cloud rises toward the top of the frame.The focus seems to be divided between two areas of this picture - the pink thunder-head is the primary subject, and the blue clouds below it form the secondary subject.The main "breaking-up" devices in this picture are the two thin aerials rising toward the center of the photo - they direct the eye again from the lower section of the picture back up to the top again.But don't let the composition of this photo distract you from enjoying it's awe-inspiring effect. | Thunder Cat on the big screen | | 2007-06-07 18:59:00 | | Thunder Cats are another Cartoon that will make its way to the big screen. The Thunder Cats was a popular 80’s cartoon. It was about these human like cat beings that crash land in an earth like planet along with the evil Mumm-Ra and his gang of mutants. I enjoyed this cartoon when I was young. It was a very violent cartoon for it’s time. I could not find if this will be a live action or a cartoon or a 3d type.If I was to vote they should not do the Cartoon or the live action. We have seen the 2d cartoon and that is done so why try to make it better. I don’t think live action will be good because most of the characters would have to be done with special effects. I guess they could do a cross live action and 3d. Something like Dave Jones in the Pirates of the CaribbeanThe 80’s really produced a lot of great cartoon and most of the ones we enjoyed on Saturday morning are becoming movies.
