| Toothbrush Fence | | 2008-05-22 17:09:00 | | So I've decided to plan a trip to New Zealand in the next month or two. The reason I've made this decision is pictured to the right. It appears New Zealand is home to a unique attraction like no other - a toothbrush fence! There's a string of over fifty toothbrushes tied to a wire fence in Te Pahu, New Zealand. Local man Laird McGillicuddy Graeme Cairns decided to start stringing toothbrushes up on the fence to attract tourism. It seems so obviously obvious to me now that a few dozen toothbrushes strung up on a fence is the instant cure to lack of tourist money. When asked about the idea, Cairns said, "I noticed toothbrushes were like tropical fish as they come in a bewildering range of colors and shapes. Toothbrushes are something you don't usually display but they're actually quite pretty."I can't wait to visit the toothbrush fence! | | By: Sunrise on the Sufferbus | | |
| | | New Colgate whitening toothbrush | | 2008-05-08 21:32:00 | | I didn't only get deodorant.. Nope.. I went and got me a new brush to keep up my pearly whites..:) (Ok.. the real reason I needed one badly is b/c I was cheap the last time, and figured a cheap one would be just as good for the time being. Big faux pas! I ended up with bristles in my mouth everytime I brushed. :/ Learn from my mistake lol.) And I guess this week I was lucky b/c I got the right new toothbrush too which I also plan to stick to for a long time to come: Colgates new Whitening toothbrush (Doh! What will they come up with next to save us money when it comes to laser whitening).I hope I never have to get my teeth lasered so I just do my best to keep em white as much as I can and I think everyone should. I mean your smile is one of the most attractive things. The mouth and eyes, but I'll leave that for another post. You use it to talk/communicate, eat, flirt... To make it short and sweet: 5 star rating! Teeth have never felt cleaner. (Oh did I mention it has this builtin "polis | | By: ~*Come Share My Fashion Addictions*~ | | |

| | Sustainable Toothbrush for the eco-friendly mouth | | 2007-07-16 16:48:00 | | Today, I want to look at a product that is essential to daily modern life: the toothbrush. The average American replaces his or her toothbrush 1.5 times per year. This translates into about 50 million pounds of toothbrush trash going into landfills each year. But we can eliminate or significantly reduce this amount. A little research turned up these results:Recycled (and recyclable) Materials:1. My favorite toothbrush out of all that I looked at must be Recyline's Preserve. Made from recycled polypropylene (aka old yogurt cups), the toothbrush can be returned to the Recyline to be reused in other products! A near perfect product. The Preserve is sold at many retailers all around the country. Click here to find one near you. Watch a video profile of the company here. Click here for a more in depth analysis from the blog Sustainableisgood. 2. Another cool toothbrush brand is Radius. The Original toothbrush is as innovative in its design as its cellulose based handle made from sustainable yield timber. Furthermore the Radius claims that the toothbrush lasts longer then conventional ones. Also, Radius offers the Source toothbrush with replaceable heads and a renewable handle. And another plus is that Radius manufactures all their products in the US!Replaceable heads: 1. Eco-Dent offers a full line of environmentally friendly (and often vegan friendly) mouth care products. Just saving the body of the toothbrush reduces waste by 3/4! Their products can be found in some stores (leave a comment if you know where in your community) and online. 2. Smile Britefrom Lotus Brands also offers toothbrushes with replaceable heads, and furthermore, you can opt for natural boar bristles instead of synthetic ones.3. Natural Collection offers some certified organic toothpaste and more toothbrushes with replaceable heads. But shipping from oversees has its climate implications. | | Oral-B Triumph intelligent toothbrush makes sure you brush correctly | | 2007-06-15 15:20:05 | |
Proving that adding an LCD screen and a radio transmitter are sure-fire ways to improve even the lowliest of products, Oral-B has unveiled the latest in its Triumph line of intelligent toothbrushes. The multi-head brush, which has 4 programmable cleaning patterns, communicates with a mirror-mounted LCD display that instructs you on where and how long to brush, and warns you if you’re brushing too hard — just like mom. The handle keeps track of data if you step out of range of the dispay and re-syncs when you come back to spit, so you’ll never miss a stroke. Apparently these go on sale in September for $150, but we’re going to stick with our Tooth Tunes — what’s a little less polish when you can brush up to The Clash?

| | Toothbrush | | 2007-04-14 23:32:09 | | I was going to write about my trip to Cleveland or other such interesting matters. But then I brushed my teeth.
Toothbrushes are actually really weird, if you think about it (which I made the mistake of doing). They’re plastic sticks with bristles stuck in one end, and you squeeze daubs of paste on them and put them in your mouth and rub them on your teeth. In fact, they’re one of the few things you intentionally put in your mouth without ingesting them. Assuming you’re past the teething stage, of course.
And as good supporters of dental health, this is a ritual we go through at least once and more typically twice a day.
Tune in next week for April’s Observations on Everyday Life, Episode 2: Nail Clippers.*
*Not really. Unless you want me to write about them. Nail clippers are kind of bizarre, aren’t they…
