    French Development Agency Gives Loan to Vietnam Resort Towns

    France's Development Agency gave a 22 million euro ($34 million) loan and 800,000 euro grant to resort towns in Vietnam's Lao Cai province to develop tourism, roads and water systems. The seven-year loan is to improve living conditions in Sapa and Bac Ha towns and Hoang Lien National Park, popular tourism spots in Viet Nam, according to a statement from the French Embassy in Hanoi today....

    Scandinavian investors are expected to invest up to Bt16.2 billion in residential developments in Thailand this year and the next. This money will flow into tourist destinations such as Rayong, Hua Hin, Koh Samui and Phuket, according to research by Colliers International (Thailand).The company's managing director, Patima Jeerapaet, said Swedish investors figure most prominently in the list, followed by Finns.The main residential projects developed by Scandinavian investors include villas, resorts and condominiums at tourist hotspots. ...

    Last year, 113 Massachusetts communities - including, in this area, Acton, Ayer, Bedford, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Groton, Harvard, Lexington, North Andover, Tewksbury, Tyngsborough, and Westford - received a 100 percent match from the state.This year, 127 communities will be eligible for a state match.
