| | Will you be travelling this Summer? | | 2008-06-13 08:11:27 | | I must say that our desires to visit our families started looking dimmer and dimmer a few months ago.

| Ultimate travelling kit | | 2008-06-11 12:00:03 | | I've been doing some research lately on how to better protect my data when traveling and how to be able to carry my favorite software and use it from a USB flash drive.I'm a strong adept of the saying "Paranoia keeps me alive".First, I looked for a flash drive that provided encryption without having to install additional software... I found something even better coming with hardware encryption provided by a cryptochip that prevents encryption keys from being transferred and stored onto PCs:IronKey flash drive available in 1,2,4 and 8GB capacities, waterproof, with metal casing, self destructs after 10 failed password-guessing attempts.Data will be completely unrecoverable after that.Ships with Firefox installed and optionally a user can use IronKey's dedicated TOR network for anonymous surfing.IronKey's official website: www.ironkey.comI then wanted a hardware firewall on a USB interface.I found several ones from Yoggie. Prices from $119 to $249 depending on the device's ability. These ... | | By: E-business Ideas | | |

| | My other travelling dreams | | 2008-05-30 00:51:44 | | Some of my traveling dream's are to have a great vacation to England, Scotland and Ireland, someday :D. As I know, there are lots of beautiful views in their country. I don't know when but I believe someday I can visit Edinburgh Castle, Windsor Castle, London's Parliament, etc. But I have already been browsing for some UK Hotels hi hi hi.... to find out how much of a budget I need to have for a great vacation in United Kingdom area.In the Hotel UK site, there are facilities to make it very easy to find great hotels using "UK by city" or "UK by country" features. Example : If you click UK by country, there are lists of England, Scotland, Nothern Ireland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland. If you need to go to Scotland, then there are lists of star hotels in Scotland (1 Star hotels to 5 Star hotels).Oh boy....I wish we could go there this Christmas holiday hi hi hi hi....

| | Travelling to the UK from abroad | | 2008-05-20 23:01:26 | | If your journey isn't too great a distance, for example you are visiting from Europe, you might want to consider a variety of travel options. But if your journey is a long one, plane fares are now so competitive that in terms of speed, comfort and cost you should probably just look at flights.

| | How To Control Your Pet While Travelling | | 2008-02-01 11:03:00 | | While we are going to long journies we cant leave pets in our house. So we will take them with us. But while we are taking them to different places then we need to follow some instructions(precautions) to make the journey more peaceful. Last time we went for South India tour. As the tour is about 30 days, we could not leave our dog in our house. So we had to take him with us. Before leaving, we just checked for some precautions, that are needed while those pets are travelling with us. So while searching in the google, I came across a site which accepts pets. Generally those hotels are called pet friendly hotels. So in that site, they provided some precautions we need to take while we are taking our pets to other places. After reading that I just checked whether the hotel we are staying allows pets or not. To my surprise, they don't accept pets. So I have cancelled the registration and choose another hotel which accepts pets. Hence with the timely advice I read in this site I could mana... | | By: Online Earning Opportunities | | |

| | | Gingerbread for Voyages or Travelling. | | 2007-11-16 19:32:00 | | There are so many gingerbread recipes now in the Through the Ages with Gingerbread archive that it is getting to be quite a challenge to find variations with a different spin. This one seems to meet the challenge. It is a fruity version with almonds which is twice-baked in the manner of biscotti, making it suitable to take on long seafaring voyages. Gingerbread for Voyages or Travelling.Three pounds of treacle, four pounds of flour, half a pound of sugar, both well sifted, two ounces of pounded ginger, a quarter of an ounce of allspice, a quarter of a pound of orange-peel, two ounces of caraway-seeds, a quarter of a pound of citron, a quarter of a pound of almonds, a pound of butter; let the almonds be blanched and cut with the citron and orange-peel; it ought not to be much handled, but well mixed ; bake it in small cakes or nuts; give it a quick oven. This bread, baked with the fruit pounded, is to be very well dried in a cool oven, and then to be rasped, and again kneaded, with as muc... | | By: The Old Foodie | | |
| | Travelling to Spain | | 2007-11-09 17:39:00 | | I have always been impressed with the south of Spain (Andalusia) the Arab influence on architecture there are breath taking.During our 2006 trip, I was very impressed with the Basque Region, amazing food, mountains, ocean beaches and hill top walled villages (like Laguardia) can be found within its borders. The north and east of Spain has its own special appeal. The north, central and north east of Spain, in the areas of Castile and Aragon are where the "Catholic Monarchs", Isabel the 1st and Fernando the 2nd of Aragon, ruled and engaged in the "Reconquest of Spain".The east of Spain holds the modernistic architecture of Barcelona, the ultra modern architecture of Valencia and the upcoming community of Zaragoza, not to mention numerous walled cities that retain much of their middle age character. My top recommendation for touring Spain is, do not be in a rush.Spain is best experienced slowly and as much as possible, try to match your activity to the life rhythms of the natives. Take time to linger at an outside cafe and do a little people watching. Buy some wine, cheese, bread and fruit, have a picnic while watching the sunset; even better watch the sun set with a mountain and/or Mediterranean view. Spend multiple nights at the same hotel and as much as possible limit the time you spend actually traveling. Shopping hours, with some variation, run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, reopening around 5 PM to then close at 8 PM. Large department stores usually stay open over the lunch period. Most shops will be closed on Sunday. I find it best to get to the tourist sites in the morning and leaving the shopping to the evening, my wife on the other hand thinks mornings are an excellent time to shop. This article breaks down the main Spanish travel options by region. Northern Spain – The easiest way to access this region is by plane from one of the main UK airports flying directly to Bilbao or from the US to Malaga with transfer to Bilbao. It’s possible to con... | | By: The Professional Travellers | | |
| | The Mishaps of Travelling via Train | | 2007-10-15 12:34:00 | | Japan's train system is very efficient unlike in the Philippines. Everyday, I consume about 3 hours of back-and-forth train ride going to the office and back to my home in Kunitachi. I wake up around 6:00am and leave the house not later than 7:30 am. Well, here is the taxing part, the chaos inside the train. From Kunitachi to Shinjuku, I take the Chuo Line, which is colored orange and to which it came from Toyoda, a further city to the west of Tokyo. When the train arrives in Kunitachi, you don't have a choice but to stand and wait for someone to get off and take their place, which in turn, rarely happens. If it happens, he/she gets off in Shinjuku, which the station I also have my norikaemasu/乗りæ›ãˆã¾ã™ (change ride/trains). Friday last week, along Mitaka City, the conductor of the train suddenly made the train stop. All of the passengers inside, including me were like pins in a bowling game. Strike!!! All fell and piled up into the floor. Everybody's poise was lost. Even in neckties, suits and skirts, everybody was feeling like, AAaarrggghhh!!!!. Anyway, the lady driver said that a man's shoe was caught in between the doors of the densha/電車 (train). Whew! We thought that someone jumped into the railway and comitted suicide. Well, it always happen here in Japan. Every train delay which is tagged as "accident" is a confirmed suicide. The most annoying thing about riding the train is when people try to squeeze themselves into the coach wherein fact its already too tight inside. So the tendency is, you have to crample to whatever space left. You are luck if a beautiful woman is beside, near or infront of you. But you are quite unlucky if you are beside an unlikeable person.Well, a sudden gush of human-river flows out in any of the stations like Mitaka, Nakano, and of course, my favorite Shinjuku eki/駅(where people flow like a jetstream of water). Afterwhich, another mayhem awaits me in the Yamanote/å±±ã®æ‰‹ line. Same scenario. Far more worst in MRT Edsa 1 in the Philippines. The only difference is its cold here. Anyway, after 30 minutes, I finally arrive in Tamachi eki/田町駅, which my office is at the nearest station in the Yamanote line. But it is still an efficient way of commuting Tokyo East area. Thanks to JR East Railways for this post and I have experienced remarkable and memorable things which I will bring back in the Philippines.... | | By: Rey Ian\\\\\\\'s Personal Blog | | |

| | South of France Travelling Tips | | 2007-08-03 03:23:00 | | Blue and red parasols, sailing ships, a light breeze and a cloudless blue sky - the Cote d'Azure, or Azure Coast as it is literally translated, lives up to its name. It is a good idea to plan your trip to the South of France for early September to avoid the madness of the Cannes film festival in May, and the sweltering heat and the crowded coastal highways that besiege vacationers in July and August. As the high season ends, the hoards clear out and you can truly appreciate the charm of these classy seaside resorts.

| | | Travelling jazz festival | | 2007-06-03 16:14:39 | | Jazz is particularly popular in the Perpignan area with the three week long Jazzebre starting on September 29th this year but in addition to that there are also numerous smaller scale jazz festivals throughout the year.
Today for instance Mas Camps winery hosted one stop on the route of the travelling jazz festival which is basically an upmarket pub crawl taking in a number of the local wineries during the day. The busload of participants are currently sampling the produce whilst the group heads on to set up again at the next winery on the route.
Fete de la Musique on June 21st is the next major music festival and is celebrated all over France.

| | Travelling Budget Calculator | | 2007-02-15 03:25:00 | | I'm often asked how much will it cost for six months budget travel in Asia, or to travel around South America.Of course every traveller has a different budget. One person's budget for a fortnight in Egypt might well run to a couple of thousand dollars, for others it would only be a few hundred.Prices are dependent on where you like to stay, your prefered mode of transport and whether you eat regularly at street markets or prefer an air-conditioned restaurant.I class myself as a 'budget traveller' but that doesn't mean I don't stay in the occassional five-star hotel.Even on a really tight budget - in a traffic-swarming, sweaty country - visiting an international hotel offers some sort of respite from the heat and noise; if only for a cold beer and a change of scenery. The toilets are cleaner too.Another thing to affect the total 'budget' cost is which countries you'll intend to visit; as some are cheaper to get around than others. Some travellers also like to buy 'souvenirs' ... | | By: Travel Notes Blog | | |
