From the Mouths of Babes….(True Story)
    2008-08-07 00:00:00
I was in the kitchen Had dishes too clean When it got quiet Perhaps too serene This was not normal For my son of three Who bounced off the walls And screamed with such glee I chuckled to myself He was so much like me Always getting into trouble... Oh crap!… Where in the hell is he?! Fear running thru me I called out his name But it remained silent No response my way came I yelled for him again “Spenser?” again “SPENSER!!” My mind was now alert My ears just like sensors I heard a faint voice Coming from the back There in the master bedroom The door open, just a crack I entered the room Yelled his name again Wanting this too cruel game Of hide and seek to end Then to my surprise I heard “WHAT IS IT?!!!” Ah! He was in the master bath and he said “I’M TAKING A SHIP!!!” I dropped right to the damn floor Couldn’t contain my laughter On that day "my" boy really proved It was his dad he takes after! :P...

A True Story And Healthy Skin
    2008-07-17 20:59:59
If your goals include achieving optimal health, a more youthful appearance and a better quality of life, wouldn’t it be great to know some of the best skincare solutions that can reclaim your smooth, fresh, youthful complexion and have you waking up every morning looking your best? Here’s a true story. On a recent visit to my hometown in Lithuania, I was reminded by my half sister about a woman we used to know who one day went to her old family doctor complaining of a stomachache. After she described her symptoms, the old doctor peered over his glasses and simply said: “Go see an eye doctor”. The woman was stunned. “But, doctor,” she said, “I have a stomachache. There’s nothing wrong with my eyes.” The doctor was adamant. “I am telling you,” he said. “Go and see optician.” When the woman asked why, the doctor replied: “You have to see an eye doctor in order to see better what you are eating!” His advice is a good lesson for all of us. If we all looked re...

Quick Humor Moment and 100% True Story
    2007-12-11 10:55:00
The scene: a hallway in my officeThe characters: myself and a female co-workerFemale: Brad, I need to know where to find…what’s it called?Brad: I don’t knowFemale: It’s that thing you put more things on…Brad: Ok…Female: Do you know where to find a….you put songs and stuff on it…Brad: A MP3 player?Female: No, it’s for your computer. Do you know where to find a… fuck?Brad: If I knew where to find a fuck, I would be much happier person. The words she was struggling for were “external hard drive.”The moral of the story: I have a very quick and fairly dirty mind most days so be careful what exactly you ask me.PS- You may have noticed nothing here about the Colorado Church shootings yet. There is a simple reason for this- I cannot find the names of the victims anywhere. I can find the name of the shooter in about 1,000 different places, but not one name of those who matter; the dead. Policy here at the Lemming House is to never print the name of a murdering fame seeking prick who should have used the first bullet on himself. My prayers to everyone who suffered a loss by this asshole. A place of worship is supposed to be a refuge from the threats of daily life....

Bodily Functions As You Age: A True Story.
    2007-07-18 20:59:47
I’m 34 years old. I don’t feel my age in the least- in fact I still have the mindset of a 20 year old, although I’m not sure if that’s good or bad. Having the mind of a young person is one thing- the body lets you down when you least expect it. For the women out there, picture this: You’re sitting in traffic, singing to an 80s song on the radio and you sneeze. And you feel it. That little trickle- not coming from your nose, but from, well, the one thing that makes you a woman. You ask yourself, “Did I have to pee? No, no I didn’t.” You sneeze again. “What the hell?” By this point you’re just hoping to get through traffic and make it home before you’re floating in a puddle. Forget the stop at the convenience store for gas- you have a bigger problem on your hands. Once you’re home it hits you- holy hell I’m getting old. This is the kind of crap my mom complained about when I was 10. You deal with it, wea...

Write Back Weekend "Based On A True Story"
    2007-05-27 15:12:00
Last week's question was the following...If they were to make a movie of your life, who do you think should play you and why? And in part two of this question, what title would you give your biopic?Sometimes I wonder how people who have had movies made about their lives feel about the depictions. Was the real Erin Brokovich honored to be portrayed by Julia Roberts? Did Muhammad Ali feel Will Smith got him down right when he played him in Ali? Which Elvis impersonator would the real Elvis have given his stamp of approval to? I guess it just goes to show, some questions are out there, never meant to be answered.Of course I'm not dumb. I know what Hollywood is all about. Because of this, I know I don't have a snowball's chance in hell of getting a movie made about the life I'm living now. As Rockwell once said, "I'm just an average man, with an average life..." Only instead of man, you insert the word woman and presto! You have me.No, in order to get noticed by Hollywood's standard...
