When I lived there years ago I used to go inside to sit down and enjoy the cool darkness and the quiet. Recently when I visit Paris, I still visit Notre Dame at least once, to go listen to the soprano singing vespers and just to Be there. It has nothing to do with religion, and everything to do with the amazing beauty of this structure, and the energy there that has grown over the centuries as people of all faiths and walks of life have gone inside to connect with something ineffable but tangible, and greater than themselves. Just a fantastic space!! And if you have a chance to be there around 5:30 or 6:00 PM sit down and wait for the soprano to come sing solo accompanied by the organ, and let the sound wash through you. It is exquisitely beautiful....although I don't understand the Latin words, the feeling is so very very sincere and moving. Here in New York, it was a staple on Channel 11 WPIX for many years, but the Sci-Fi Channel picked it up a while back, and now it is on weeknights at 1 AM. Since I am a night owl, I rarely miss it. It is a show I will never, ever get tired of watching.The Sci-Fi Channel does a 48-hour marathon of episodes every New Year's, and I find myself watching my most favorite episodes then. But this past New Year's I got to thinking that it might be time to write something on my site about "The Twilight Zone," so I sat down and composed a list of my favorite episodes. Originally it was going to be a Top 10 list, but I found it really hard to try to narrow it down to that, so I am putting together a Top 20 list. There are 156 total episodes, so it wasn't easy.I will list the shows in the order they were originally shown, with the number next to it being the overall number show it was. I will also write a short synopsis of each. So without further ado, here we go:#7 "The Lonely": A man convicted of murder is sentenced to spend 50 years alone on an asteroid, and as he's about to lose his mind, he's given a robot in the form of a woman, who keeps him going. But once he gets his pardon and goes home, she can't return with him.#8 "Time Enough at Last": A man who loves books and little else is the lone survivor of an atomic war and thinks he finally has all the time he finally needs with his books, until the worst possible thing happens to him: he breaks his glasses. It cost me around $52 including tax, which totally depleted my gaming fund. Best Buy gave me reward points though, which is cool, I guess.Review:Even though this game came out for the Gamecube, I still find it necessary to play on the Wii. The control scheme is fun, having you swing the controller to actually swing Link's sword. I find myself being laughed at by my parents and my brother when playing this game, but hey, I'm having a blast. The story is what you'd expect from a Zelda title, deep and inviting. The game is long. Extremely long. I've had the game for a week and am barely half way through it. There's a lot to explore, side quests, and fishing. Fishing with the Wii Mote is enjoyable, though it does look funny in real life.It's the latest installment to the Zelda series, so a lot of Nintendo fan boys and gals will enjoy the game no matter what. You just have try it out for yourself to see how fun it truly is.Most gaming sites give this a perfect 10 out of 10, but I don't. Don't get me wrong, I like the game, but it's not as addictive as previous Zelda classics like Ocarina of Time. It's fun to an extent, but I'm able to let go of the controller to rest rather than play for six hours straight like other games.Graphics:Being a Gamecube port, you can't really expect to see the next-gen graphics that the big 3 consoles are capable of. The shadow effects and lush atmospheres are nice, but don't play out to what I believe the Wii is capable of.Gameplay:Using the Wii Mote and Nunchuck is really fun. It requires you to actually move a muscle other than your thumbs to play the game! Furthermore, the idea of switching from being a human to wolf form throughout the game gives it a feeling of freshness.
