In terms of investments, new cars are one of the worst; as soon as you drive it off the showroom floor - you've just lost 20% of its value. In real terms, this means that if you've just spent £20,000, you can kiss £4000 goodbye almost straight away! [ finance , credit , debt]Used cars generally offer a far better deal; the price of a car that is over two years old will have already dropped considerably, a car which is six or more years old can be up to 75% cheaper than when it was new. But of course there can be more risk when buying a used car. When buying new, a car tends to come with all sorts of warranties and guarantees that will cover the costs of any problems should they occur during the firs... | | By: FINANCE.

| | Used Car Parts Can Have Great Value | | 2007-12-22 09:46:13 | | Doing occasional tune ups and taking care of your car and your auto parts is nothing new. You will always need to maintain your car even if it’s old or brand new, with oil changes and checking the engine. So it would be better for you financially to choose good quality second hand parts. Getting used car parts is like looking around for a second hand car. You should look for the parts in the same places you would normally to get a second hand car. You can look for the parts in the classified ads, check different shops that would sell the parts or the easier way would be to go and surf on the internet. It would save you time and effort. There was time when these parts could only be found at the dealerships and mechanic stores. Now searching for used parts isn’t that’s hard as long as you remember a few things. You should know exactly what you need, what part goes with your car etc….Once you know what part you need you can figure out how much you are willing to pay for the part. Some parts don't have to be the original. There are parts that can be bought at surplus or a compatible part from another car make and model enabling can be used making a person save money for other things. Once you get all the information you need you can check out either local shops or dealers, let say to find some good ford auto parts. You can also go check out junk yards, because a lot of parts there can be used again. Or searching the internet where you could also order the parts and it would be delivered. So don’t make excuses about fixing something on your car, the faster you do it the better the outcome. Don’t wait till its too late.

| | Mini remains as the top used car performer says Lex | | 2007-07-21 01:07:18 | |
Lex has published its top 20 used cars list which reveals the models that are going to be worth the most in the second hand market.
In 2007 not surprisingly those new models that are in current short supply have the best future residual value.
Top of the used car pile is the MINI, continuing where it left off in 2006. Lex reckons that Cowley’s finest will be worth 54% of its original cost new price based on a typical three year/60,000 mile contract.
In the second and third place are the stylish TT and A5, which together with the A3, Q7 and Cabriolet put more Audis in the Lex list than any other car maker.
Surprisingly the Lex list shows the anti-4×4 lobby has not hit residual value predictions, with no less than seven in the top 20, including the new Land Rover Freelander, Honda CRV and Mercedes M Class.
Bread and butter fleet cars have struggled to get anywhere near the top 20, but the nearest are the Audi A3 (7th) and the BMW 3 series (18th) which between them enjoy strong f... | | By: Car O Focus

What should we believe? If sellers are looking to get the highest price for the car they’re selling, and the buyer wants to get the best deal possible, is there such thing as a fair used car price for both parties? The answer is yes, but both parties have to be on the same page. We’ll call this “page” Fair Market Value. That being said, how do we interpret the market to determine fair market value? Since most sellers and buyers are going to try to interpret the market to his or her advantage, let’s even the playing field. One of the most profound remarks I’ve heard to estab... | | By: Car Buying Tips To Save You Money
