| Self-Improvement, The Real Reason People Go On Vacation | | 2008-07-11 16:51:00 | | People say they want a vacation; that they need a vacation to rest their nerves. They say a vacation or trip will give them a break from the hussle and bussle of their day-to-day lives, esp. their work lives. But they never really get to the issues of why they need a break from work. The reasons they say don’t get to the core of the vacation dilemma - the why of the vacation equation - why they feel they need this detour from regular life.I think I know the true reason for vacations, people want a vacation to install a new way of living and to bring about another way of living an thinking, even if just for a few days or weeks - it’s for there self-improvement. | A San Francisco Vacation | | 2008-06-29 18:59:29 | | I remember when I first went to San Francisco, California. It was about two summers ago. The weather was always beautiful and the views were amazing. I remember going across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was just awesome. The traffic isn't always the greatest, especially when trying to get back to Oakland, but overall, the trip was very fun.My favorite part about San Francisco has to be Fisherman's Wharf. Fisherman's Warf is full of all different things. You can go there and enjoy a nice Giant's baseball game. After the game you can walk around the Wharf and I can guarantee there will be at least something that will interest you. There are all kinds of shops and all kinds of street performances always going on.After enjoying a walk through the Wharf, you can go to a nice restaurant. If you like seafood, then the Wharf is a great place to be, although you can enjoy a nice steak or hamburger among other things if you'd like.If you're interested in all of this and more, then be sure to check | | By: Ultimate Perfect Pushup Review | | |

| Baby Boomers! Cant wait for that perfect vacation | | 2008-06-25 21:23:00 | | With the first baby boomers now officially reaching retirement age, many are looking at life settlements as an alternative to surrendering or letting their insurance policies lapse. Whether because of their inability or desire to continue to pay rising premiums, or because of the lack of need for the policy, they are realizing the benefits of having the option to sell. For those that qualify, life settlements can provide a cash infusion greater than the surrender value of a policy. They can also be used as an alternative investment. Term policies, which have no underlying cash value and typically disappear once surrendered, often have some value. Keep in mind that life settlements are not appropriate for everyone and it is estimated that 1 in 5 policyholders over age 65 are eligible. Prior to the rise of life settlements about ten years ago, the only option the insured had when they could not or did not want to make payments was to surrender the policy. My dad and stepmom had unfortunately already heard the news of my pregnancy, but we still got to surprise them with the news of it being a girl. They were really glad for that. For once, we never heard any unkind words from any of our family about the new baby. I think #5 has been the magic number where everyone has seemed to accept that this is just how we are. The only thing we did hear was from a couple people talking about my "health" and my "body" etc. but other than that, we got no bad comments. I'm in perfect health and my body is doing what it was made for--thanks for asking Isaiah got a "boo boo". We never got the full story because all he was able to say was "David. | I need a vacation! | | 2008-06-12 07:46:00 | | I did not realize that life would be busier once school let out. It seems like I don't have any time left at the end of the day to do anything, and I feel like I have neglected my blog. Maybe its because the weather is nicer and we've been spending more and more time outside. Natalie's garden is coming along nicely. Her tomatoes are coming along great! Natalie is starting to get back in the swim mode. But its really all about the horse riding right now. We have made several trips to the stable just to give carrots and apple treats to Duke & Golly. I'm still wondering if this is a phase or a real deal!Well since I've been neglecting the blog, I have been working on a website for Natalie and her new hobby. It's still under construction, but I think its coming along well. Click here to view.We leave for vacation on Saturday, we are going up north and there is no wi-fi where we are going. There are also no phones. It will be tough, but I will suffer through :) | | By: Living in the Moment | | |

| Take a vacation, for your health's sake | | 2008-06-11 07:08:00 | | Take a vacation, for your health's sakeBy Alina Tugend Gas prices are going up, the economy is going down, and it seems hard to justify a vacation when many of us are glad just to have jobs. But now, more than ever, we need to take a break — a real break, not just a long weekend — from our stressed-out lives. But, it turns out, even before the downturn, a lot of Americans were working through their vacation time, taking fewer and shorter holidays.A global study by Expedia.com found that about a third of employed Americans usually do not take all the vacation days that they are entitled to, leaving an average of three days on the table. This is not so unusual. About a quarter of the workers in Britain do not take all their vacation time, and in France a little less. The only difference is that the British get an average of 26 days of vacation and the French about 37 — compared with 14 days for Americans, Expedia.com said.According to John de Graaf, executive director of Take Back Yo | | By: Nerdy Eddy | | |

Enjoy.Diesel's Summer VacationDiesel was the prettiest little girl I ever did see. Despite her dirty face, impossibly short hair, and the fact she wore dingy dungarees over a torn tee shirt, I could tell from the moment I shoved her inside my car that she was a child worth investing time, money, and bath salts on. And believe you me, I went about doing just that during the summer young Diesel spent with me on the ancestral family farm, located on the outskirts of Pixley, California.Like all children in new surroundings, Diesel -- or Dee Dee, as I preferred to call her -- was initially timid, and just a tad terrified. | Cadiz Beaches of Spain Vacation Best Destination Rentals | | 2008-06-01 13:21:10 | | Cadiz city (La Victoria, Cortadura and La Caleta)** Much can be said about the funds city's chronicle and customs – arguably the oldest lingering in Europe – but I'll thrust to the beaches. La Victoria and Cortadura are best if you want immense stretches of nothing but smooth, whereas La Caleta is more in the historic divide of urban, flanked by two castles. While your in city, be confident to prize up a free city lead from a tourist workforce: the streets have blush-coordinated routes painted on them so you simply trek around. Parking can be tough on festival years, so propose your tumble with a calendar of Spanish and regional holidays in hand.Chiclana / Novo Sancti Petri (La Barrosa)** Given the ample series of variables in play for different tourists, this shoreline has much to proffer. Think of it as a mini-Punta Cana: long, sweeping white beaches of sunny polish nestled in the plot of a twine of top resort hotels. | Camping: A fun and inexpensive vacation | | 2008-06-01 05:53:00 | | There is nothing more enjoyable than going to bed to the sound of crickets in the evening and then waking up in the morning to the sound of birds chirping outside your tent.Teaching a youngster how to roast a marshmallow over an open fire will be a fond memory for years to come and looking for shooting stars in a sky bright with stars is an experience that cannot be fully appreciated in the city. But the best news is that the cost of camping is still a bargain compared to staying in a hotel, motel or a rental cabin at a resort.

Well, if that “something” from which one is taking a respite is “peace and quiet” then I would have to agree with the definer. Otherwise, gathering from my 2 recent “vacations” (one to Disneyland, one [working] vacation to Las Vegas [...] | | By: Our Fourpence Worth | | |

| Our Vacation Trip To Brazil | | 2008-05-30 06:46:00 | | By: Aoureliou TelevkoTo be honest with you, before going to Ceara, Brazil, my husband and I did not know what to expect there. We were conscious that it could be both, unbelievably good or bad. To our surprise, what we discovered for ourselves was a very pleasant weather, lots of sun, and superb beaches. All of the above make Ceara one of the main tourist destinations of Northeast in Brazil. It is located right below the line of the Equator, and has 573 km of coast along the Atlantic Ocean. The sea breeze softens the temperature, making the air to be about between 23C at night and 30C during the day all year around, and has a typical tropical climate.Based on some dates and historians, Spanish expeditions arrived in Ceara in 1500, at Ponta Grossa Cape, but for some reasons the discovery was never officially recorded. Ceara's occupation began in 1603 with Pero Coelho de Sousa's expedition. In 1649, the Dutchman Matthias Beck built fort Schoonenborch, that some years later would be calle | | By: Best Countries | | |

| A Bahamas Vacation Travel Guide | | 2008-05-30 06:31:00 | | A Bahamas Vacation has always sounded like paradise on earth, but did you know that when you travel to the Bahamas you aren't just going to one island, but many.Travelling from one end of the Bahamas to the other, not only are there the well known islands like Grand Bahama, The Abacos, Eleuthera, and Exuma, but the Bahamas is in fact a country of 700 islands, of which 23 are inhabited but there are many many unpopulated islets and cays. The differences to be found between different islands is also extreme, when you take cosmopolitan Nassau and compare it to the desert like Inagua. As you can imagine being only fifty miles off the Florida Coast, the Bahamas are very much an American playground, indeed on a lot of the islands the tiny villages could almost be the same as ones found on the coast of Massachusetts, only the palms, and sands are different.A Bahamas Vacation has long been popular with sailors because the sea is calm, there are cooling tradewinds and this is the home of the Gul | | By: Best Countries | | |

| An Unspoiled Vacation When Travel to Vietnam | | 2008-05-30 02:44:00 | | By: Henry DirectoryThe boys buzzed around on their motorcycles on this warm, drizzly Saturday night hoping to run out of gas. Or so the tour guide said. If the floods of motorcycles were all cars the streets would be jammed. The traffic lights and lines on the road are merely there for decorations. No one abides by them. I found myself in the middle of the road and all of a sudden loads of traffic came my way. I just stood there and let the traffic go around me.I'm fortunate to have experienced Nha Trang Vietnam before tourism spoils this popular seaside resort, forecasted to be another Cancun. We had the boat to ourselves on the day cruise. Shaped like a silkworm, Tam Island is a quiet, picture perfect get-away-from-it-all. But who knows how it'll be five years from now.Cruising closer to Temple Island the clutter of colourful fishing boats came to view. I couldn't believe my ears when told the 1.5 sq. km. island could be destroyed in 10 years to make way for condos.Progress has not m | | By: Best Countries | | |

| Rickey's Vacation Retrospective, Part I | | 2008-05-28 06:56:00 | | Please accept Rickey's profound apologies for his long leave of absence--we promise that we will never abandon you again. And now that Rickey's has returned from vacation and is back, (back!), back in the New York groove, we figured we'd spend some time discussing a person whom Rickey and Ms. Henderson had the distinct pleasure of visiting during their stay in sunny Florida. We'll preface this by saying that when you’re a member of that magnanimous group of people whom Tom Brokaw referred to as The Greatest Generation, you feel a certain sense of entitlement. A certain confidence in your tone of voice when you recount war stories of storming Normandy and leading a daring five man incursion to steal Hitler’s shoehorn. A certain braggadocio whilst you blast your big band music, break wind uncontrollably at a Denny’s, or fall asleep in the library. And quite frankly, we as a society don’t posses the balls to call you on any of it, because you belong to that Greatest Generation whic | | By: Riding With Rickey | | |

| Going on vacation | | 2008-05-20 07:18:12 | | It is summertime, and if I were not doing my hospital training I would have gone for the summertime vacation. Going to a beach would be on top priority, as it has been a year already since my last visit to a beach, and I am dearly missing the sand, the sun, and the splashes.
If not to a beach, it would be lovely to be visiting many provinces too, especially to our relatives’ area, to experience

| My Wildest Vacation in New York | | 2008-05-20 05:36:00 | | While browsing the Internet I recently remembered one really great vacation I had in New York. I went there in order to visit a bodybuilding contest some years back and had a really great time. It was really special because that was also my first trip to the big Apple and I never expected it to be so entertaining. Besides the tremendous atmosphere in the clubs at night and the many places that one can visit, the greatest part of it all was that nobody really cared about what me and my friends did, nobody bothered us and we were able to run the clubs at night and a whole lot more. We did a lot of things in just one weekend then and I did want to stay more, too bad I had a meeting on Tuesday so I had to go. The clubs are great and the sightseeing opportunities are really worth taking into account. It is true that I spent most of the time in Manhattan, but that did not really stop anyone. So many languages around us and so many things we could have done. Hey, we even went to a GYM there a | | By: Great Bodies | | |

| Looking for a great vacation spot | | 2008-05-18 23:35:00 | | What a great way to find a vacation spot. What I mean is, finding a place to stay is not so complicated and expensive because I discovered a way to save. Imagine people can actually book direct, which means booking it through the property owners. It saves a lot of money because it cuts off the cost that the agent usually gets when they are in the middle. So for those who of you out there | | By: Simply Me | | |
