So, Sean and I are planning an upcoming vacation which is hard considering we’ve been watching Family Guy and we keep thinking of weird places TV shows have been based in or talk about. We never did the family trip to the Grand Canyon. We never went to the beach. We just didn't have the money.And, now, as an adult, I still don't have the money. | Hawaii vacations | | 2007-05-15 13:39:53 | | Hawaii is a loooong way from anywhere so the best option for most people from Europe is to include it as part of a round the world trip and, all being well, I’ll be doing that at some point in the next year or two once more.
Last time we stayed at the Waikiki Surf hotel which is a few blocks back from the beach and a teensy bit noisy as it’s on quite a major road. I think next time around it’ll probably be one facing the sea: ’tis much nicer to wake to the sound of the surf than the sound of the traffic. Incidently, be careful of the exact name of your hotel as there are untold numbers of Waikiki X hotel , Y Surf and Outrigger Z hotels!
Waikiki is on the Big Island along with Honolulu and is probably the most touristy of the islands. Having said that, this means that there are loads of things to do. | AT&T: No Vacations For You, iPhone On June 15th? | | 2007-05-07 19:14:07 | | AT&T allegedly released a memo (down the page) stating that employees should either take vacation time before, or after, June 15th.
Apparently, AT&T considers this date to be a “major sales period” and wants all staff to be on duty to handle it. Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, stated multiple times the iPhone was shipping in ‘late June’ however, but with no particular date set we’re all relying on subtle information.
