| | Pattinson not to blame for defeat says Vaughan | | 2008-07-23 15:11:00 | |

England captain Michael Vaughan said controversial debutant Darren Pattinson had "tried his guts out" as he cleared him of blame for the team's 10-wicket second Test thrashing by South Africa.
However, Vaughan admitted England's selection policy appeared "confused" after the Proteas went 1-0 up in the four-Test series, with two to play, after the drawn opener at Lord's.
Pace bowler Pattinson, born in the east coast English port town of Grimsby but brought up in Australia, was all set to take his family to an amusement park when he found himself thrust onto a rollercoaster of a different kind as England handed him a shock debut.
"It does look a confused selection - but the selection of one person does not lose you a Test match," said Vaughan, who saw his | | By: BrightCricket

South Africa coach Mickey Arthur said England captain Michael Vaughan had got what he deserved from "Mother Cricket" after the first day of the second Test here at Headingley was overshadowed by two controversial examples of disputed catches.
Before lunch, South Africa third slip AB de Villiers claimed he'd caught Andrew Strauss on 23 but the England opener stood his ground and replays showed de Villiers had dropped the ball.
Strauss was out soon afterwards, caught behind having added just four more runs, but that didn't stop, according to Arthur, Vaughan from giving de Villiers a piece of his mind at lunchtime.
Then late in the day, Vaughan - diving forward at mid-off - claimed a low catch off the bowling of the recalled Andrew Flintoff which would have seen the in-form H | | By: BrightCricket

Andrew Flintoff marked his return to Test cricket by helping get rid of two key South African batsmen on a controversial day when 13 wickets fell here at Headingley on Friday.
South Africa closed the opening day of the second Test on 101 for three, a deficit of 102, after they had bowled England out for 203.
But the tourists may have ended the day in a worse position but for a flashpoint involving Flintoff.
Hashim Amla, who made a century in the drawn first Test at Lord's and ended the day here on 18 not out, chipped a Flintoff delivery towards England captain Michael Vaughan, who dived forward at mid-off and claimed a low catch.
Amla started to walk and was nearly off the field when he was told to remain in the middle by 12th man Andre Nel and Proteas coach Mickey Arthur.

Love draws us back to love, love uncovers love, love makes us whole and love takes us Home. In the depths of the soul we are loved by God. This is the deepest secret of being human, the bond of love that is at the core of our being. And yet we have forgotten this essential nature of our being; we are hidden from our own deepest love. The mystical path is an uncovering of this love, an awakening to our own capacity to love and be loved.Like everything that is created, love has a dual nature, positive and negative, masculine and feminine. The masculine side of love is "I love you." Love’s feminine quality is "I am waiting for you; I am longing for you." For the mystic, it is the feminine side of love, the longing, the cup waiting be filled, that | | By: Inspirations and Creative Thoughts
