| | Watch Out, Warhol, Here’s Japanese Shock Pop | | 2008-04-02 05:19:05 | | By CAROL VOGEL
The fifth-floor rotunda of the Brooklyn Museum on a recent afternoon was strewn with a curious array of body parts. Resting on a mover’s blanket was most of “Miss ko2,” a busty blond waitress whose jellyfish eyes stared up at the ceiling (and whose white-painted fiberglass bosom pointed skyward too). Nearby, her counterpart [...]... | | By: ArticlesModern | | |
Así que si aún no la has visto, ¡Corre, Forrest, corre!thanks a lot DandelionIf you are in Madrid and you like Pop Art (that is, Andy Warhol) you HAVE to go to see the exposition in La Casa Encendida before 20th of January (this sunday!!) about Andy Warhol's pictures, focused in the image of Andy. Although the name of the exposition is Warhol on Warhol, many of the paintings and pictures are not pictures of Andy, there are also the Marilyn Monroe serigraphies, the famous shoes, and some Mick Jagger collages, and much more.I loved seeign photos of Edie Sedgwick, because although I had seen them before on the internet, I was so happy when I found them there.Apart from the paintings and photos, there are some videos featuring Andy Warhol (there's one where he's doing his make-up) and videos they recorded at The Factory of people talking about Andy. The timetable is from 10:00 to 22:00, and you don't need to pay anything. They also have a photo-machine that takes pictures of you and gives them a Pop-Art effect. I tried it and the result was gr... | | By: Miss at la Playa | | |

| | Andy Warhol Changed The Modern Art World | | 2007-11-04 19:36:00 | | My early thoughts about this art world icon were sorely incomplete and inwardly deceptive, this figure had a very silent but exposive personality that caused everyone who met him to misinterpret him. Behind the blonde hair and nu vogue wardrobe lied a rather intriquing and accomplished visual artist - an artist that would change society and help usher in the “pop culture". Andy Warhol was a catalyst for a new world structuralization of our normal psyche, revealing a new and a exciting chapter in our ways of viewing the art world. He showed that the visual arts can commune with and influence all in a very profund way.The vision of Andy Warhol was in the changing of what we as consumers of visual communication consider art, and thereby challenging the established criteria by which the arts are judged by the art world elite. Warhol’s cans, portraits and other works were an attempt to lead the way in this direction. Since his rampage on the art scene, art has become more accessible to the average man and woman. Many shied away from the art world now feel more included and comfortable relating about art, and its expressive ambiance and ability to influence culture and our daily lives. We say thank you Andy Warhols, and may your creativity continue to inspire future generations.artartistandy warholpop culture... | | By: Glendell's Art And Music | | |
| | By: Butaca en Linea | | |
