However, temperatures were expected to plunge Monday night to near freezing, and the cold weather likely will stay for a few days, said Larry Brown, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Wakefield.
There will be another warm-up for the weekend and maybe a few freezing nights again next week. The change isn't expected to hurt the flowers much.
