It's the call of the appalachian trail which stretches from maine to georgia, but not that i am going to treak the whole stretch but it is just one state that i and my elder brother are planning on completing. | Woods won't even swing a club until next year | | 2008-08-14 19:05:34 | | Tiger Woods said he's begun riding a stationary exercise bike, can't move fast enough to catch his 13-month-old daughter, and won't start swinging his golf clubs until next year. Woods said things are getting a ``lot better,'' seven weeks after surgery on his left knee. He's also regained some weight after dropping 10 pounds since his June 24 surgery to reconstruct his torn anterior cruciate ligament. My thoughtsWith Tiger out of the action it gives others a chance, but there is always something hanging over players who win when Tiger is injured - "would they have won with Tiger playing?". We will never know.

| | GEEK CRUSH: Joss Whedon developing "Cabin in the Woods" | | 2008-07-09 11:13:36 | | The Hollywood Reporter is...uh, reporting...that geek king Joss Whedon and Cloverfield scribe Drew Goddard have turned in a spec script to MGM that has "suddenly became Project No.1". Mary Parent, head of the studios worldwide motion picture group, had this to say about the project:"It feels great," said Parent, talking excitedly about a possible fall start date."It feels really good. It just came in and it was ready to go."It was just very fateful," she added. "I couldn't have coordinated it. It just happened. There's other stuff that's percolating, but this just felt great. Honestly, it's one of the most clever and original scripts I've ever read. And I love them. You put the two of them together and it's kind of a dream come true."Holy. Fucking. Wow. They sure know how to get me excited. Everyone has pretty much kept mum about the plot, but Parent did say this: "It's an intense visceral thrill ride and I'll leave it at that."Not a ton to go off of there, but I'll take it. We welcome the boost it will give to the local businesses,” Mayor Michael Moscatiello said. “It will reflect some of the most positive attributes of our town, especially our farmland. That's one of North Hanover's greatest beauties, the open space, and what better way to capture that than in a movie.”The film is about a musician named Spyder, played by Kevin Zegers, who returns home to Long Island after his second album flops. | Tiger Woods goes 19 holes to win the US Open | | 2008-06-18 08:08:00 | | SAN DIEGO: With a throbbing knee and a pounding heart, Tiger Woods made one last improbable escape and won the U.S. Open in a 19-hole playoff over Rocco Mediate on Monday, his 14th career major and maybe the most amazing of them all.One shot behind after a collapse no one saw coming, Woods birdied the 18th hole to force sudden death at Torrey Pines against a journeyman with a creaky back who simply wouldn't go away. But that one extra hole was enough to doom Mediate, trying to become the oldest U.S. Open champion at 45 years, 6 months. He put his tee shot in the bunker at No. 7, knocked his approach off a cart path and against the bleachers, chipped some 18 feet past the hole and missed the par putt.On the verge of one of golf's greatest upsets, Mediate instead became another victim."Great fight,'' Woods told him as they embraced on the seventh green.Woods, who delivered so many spectacular moments over four days along the Pacific Ocean bluffs, needed only a two-putt par at the end to wi | | By: Nerdy Eddy | | |

| | Ochoa is the Woods of the womens tour? | | 2008-04-03 09:51:19 | | Lorena Ochoa has quietly put herself in position to be the Tiger Woods the women’s tour — if she could only add some more major tournaments to her already sparkling resume.Ochoa waited until the third tournament of the year to make her 2008 debut, then won by 11 shots. In what might be the strongest field of the year on the LPGA Tour last week, she missed a half-dozen putts inside 10 feet and still won by 7.And the former No. 1 in the world, Annika Sorenstam says: “She’s playing some spectacular golf right now.”Still, for all her good golf, she hasn’t won the Kraft Nabisco, played on one of her favorite courses. She began playing Mission Hills as a teenager when she dominated college golf at Arizona. The support she feels in the Coachella Valley is second only to what she gets in her native Mexico, with so many family and friends in the gallery, along with fans from the area who make their presence known by waving the Mexican flag.

Curious, he followed the car and saw Daddy and Aunt Janein a passionate embrace.Little Johnny found this so exciting that he could hardly contain himself as he ran home and started to tell his mother. Then Aunt Jane helped Daddy take his pants off, then Aunt Jane...'At this point Mommy cut him off and said, 'Johnny, this is such an interesting story, suppose you save! the rest of it for supper time. | | Accenture Match Play Championship - Woods escapes again | | 2008-02-22 20:15:04 | | Tiger Woods could recall just one similar birdie slug-fest in his career after beating Australia's Aaron Baddeley over 20 holes in Friday's third round at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. "The only other match that was similar to that was the Match Play against O'Meara in '98, at Wentworth," twice winner Woods told reporters after racking up 12 birdies to Baddeley's nine in a tight battle of shot-making at Dove Mountain. Woods lost to good friend and fellow American Mark O'Meara by a hole in a fluctuating final of the 1998 World Match Play Championship at Wentworth in south-east England. "I think he was 11 under and I was 10 under. I thought that was a pretty good match." On Friday, Woods and Baddeley treated the watching gallery to a thrilling exhibition of high-quality golf before the American world number one sealed victory with a 13-foot birdie putt on the par-four second, the second extra hole. | | Tiger Woods wins the Dubai Desert Classic | | 2008-02-03 18:28:27 | | Tiger Woods birdied his last two holes Sunday to rally from a four-shot deficit and win the Dubai Desert Classic, starting his season with two victories that looked nothing alike. One week after winning the Buick Invitational by eight shots, Woods had to birdie five of his last seven holes for a 7-under 65, then wait to see if Ernie Els could catch him.Needing a birdie on the par-5 18th to force a playoff, Els hit his tee shot into the water and made bogey."To go 2-for-2, it's a pretty good start, isn't it?" Woods said. This is the third time he has started a season with two straight victories, and it was another sign that the world's No. 1 player could be headed for a big year. Woods now has won his last four official tournaments, and six of his last seven dating to the Bridgestone Invitational in early August. He also won his unofficial Target World Challenge by seven shots in December.Woods birdied his last two holes for a 14-under 274 and a one-shot victory over Martin Kaymer of Ge | | By: The Golf Blog

| | Tiger Woods to be the world's first sportsman billionaire! | | 2008-01-15 03:25:02 | | TIGER Woods is set to become the world's first billion-dollar sportsman in 2010, Splash news reported on Thursday, citing Golf Digest magazine. The record-setting golfer took home a staggering US$122.7 million in 2007, an increase of US$26million from 2006, according to the reports.Woods enjoyed a boom year on the golf course in 2007, winning his 13th Major title, as well as a $10million bonus for coming out on top of the FedEx Cup competition. Woods' bank account was also bolstered by lucrative advertising deals. The magazine estimates that since turning pro in 1996, Woods has US$769.4million in total earnings. In 1996, only nine golfers earned more than US$1million a year. But in 2007, 158 players, including 99 on the PGA Tour, topped that figure.

Beautiful ebony points will grace the forearm of this Bebot Bautista masterpiece!A beautiful pool cue deserves nothing but the best ivory diamonds! Do you notice how thick the ivories are? Bebot Bautista makes custom cues for the sheer love of the craft - turning it into one beautiful art! And please realize how well the colors of the cocobolo and ebony pieces stand apart from one another, while simultaneously complimenting each other! The aesthetics of it all is just so pleasing to the eyes! And they are all still in raw form! The thick ivory collar compliments well the color combination of the pool cue's exotic woods! And what about the very long and very nice ebony points for this Bebot Bautista masterpiece? Ebony points that are straight and true! Truly beautiful! A very good option for a pool cue is the addition of a black collar to further highlight the colors of the exotic woods from one another! | | Clemens is Not Out of the Woods | | 2007-12-21 11:58:00 | | The contents of the affidavit that Jason Grimsley made in 2006 were revealed yesterday, and curiously the names of Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte were not in it. Nor were a few other names in the Mitchell Report, like Miguel Tejada, Brian Roberts or Jay Gibbons. (Grimsley did mention such players as Sammy Sosa, Allen Watson and Pete Incaviglia.)An article in the Los Angeles Times in 2006 said that Clemens and Pettitte were a part of it, and their names were redacted out of it. The unsealing of the document proves they were not named in it, and the Times is planning on running an apology in the paper tomorrow about it.Listening to Clemens' lawyer, Rusty Hardin, you'd think this makes Clemens an innocent man who has finally been let off the hook."When this grossly inaccurate story broke in October 2006, Roger said it was untrue and the Los Angeles Times chose not to believe him. Six ahead of the pack overnight, the world No.1 fired a four-under-par 68 at Sherwood Country Club to claim his eighth victory of the year in the elite 16-man tournament he hosts. Woods, who stretched his lead to seven strokes after two holes before it was trimmed to two by playing partner Furyk over a cut-and-thrust outward nine, posted a 22-under total of 266. World No.3 Furyk, who piled the pressure on Woods with five birdies in the first eight holes, double-bogeyed the par-three 15th on his way to a 71 and third place at 13 under, two behind Masters champion Zach Johnson (68). You could choose to just use the decor in one room or you can use just a few pieces to add a touch of nature to a room, whichever you choose. You may want to start with a less used room, like a guest room or half bath to see if you enjoy the look of deep woods decor in your room. Diciamo che non è psichedelico come il primo album (international readers: here you can get their first album), nè pace, amore e west coast come il secondo (che prima o poi incontrerete, sempre su queste pagine), ma è un disco di blues rock privo di cedimenti e intriso di classe. Si avvicina il momento delle classifiche di fine anno, e la mia classifica del 2007 è vuota per assenza di contendenti validi (molta roba non l'ho ancora sentita, come al solito potrò stilare una classifica del 2007 nel 2012). | | | Golf News: Tiger Woods wins the inaugural FedEx Cup | | 2007-09-17 04:31:24 | | Earlier today Tiger Woods became the first winner of the FedEx Cup with a personal best 23 under par tournament at the Tour Championship. He was at his absolute best during the event beating Zach Johnson Mark Calcavecchia by a massive 8 strokes. This was Tigers 61st win on the tour and needs only one more win to catch the great Arnold Palmer. Tiger adds the 10 million from the FedEx Cup to his retirement fund and takes home another 1.2 million just for winning the tournament. The dominant win means that questions about just how good Tiger Woods is will continued to be asked and the answer just might be...the greatest ever!Leaderboard - Top 10 The Tour Championship 1 Tiger Woods USA -23 257 64 63 64 66 2 Mark Calcavecchia USA -15 265 65 66 63 71 2 Zach Johnson USA -15 265 71 66 60 68 4 Sergio Garcia ESP -14 266 68 64 64 70 5 Scott Verplank USA -11 269 66 68 67 68 5 Hunter Mahan USA -11 269 65 68 65 71 7 Vijay Singh FIJ -10 270 68 68 65 69 7 Tim Clark SAF -10 270 62 69 70 69 9 Rory Sabbatini SAF -9 271 68 68 67 68 9 Camilo Villegas COL -9 271 67 68 70 66 The final standings in the FedEx Cup threw up little change. Unfortunately for golf fans the title didn't come down to a close finish, which would have probably secured the FedEx Cup's place for years to come. However, I am sure there will be some serious debate over whether the cup should continue to be part of the Tour. I must say congratulations to Steve Stricker who finished second in the FedEx Cup points standings and will add 3 million to his retirement fund!Stay tuned this week for my thoughts on the FedEx Cup | | By: The Golf Blog
| | A Walk in the woods | | 2007-06-26 07:43:39 | | I’m a nature lover. When I do have a day off - a rare occurrence during Summer - there’s nothing I love more than getting outdoors and exploring the country side to recharge my batteries.
Spring in Canada is Amazing. Everything is so lush and vibrant. There are seemingly animals hiding in every shrub! Here are a few shots I grabbed while out yesterday…
If you’re interested in getting into some of the countryside but don’t know where to go close-by, drop me an email and I’ll hook you up. This particular walk was on this route. Remember to take some good hiking boots and your bug repellent ; )

| | The Celebrity Baby Brigade Rolls On -- Tiger Woods and Wife Welcome Daughter | | 2007-06-19 11:27:00 | | In more celebrity baby news, Tiger Woods and his wife have welcomed a daughter named Sam Alexis. Sam? Not short for Samantha? Just Sam? It's like when Melissa Etheridge and her wife named their daughter Johnnie. Maybe it's a Swedish name or something. Celebrity baby names drive me nuts. I think my favorites would have to be Reese Witherspoon's Ava and Deacon or Kevin James Shea and Sienna. Pretty names.Congrats Tiger and Elin! | | By: Superstar Hotness | | |
| | A Villa in the Woods | | 2007-04-08 07:50:00 | | There is nothing new I can tell about Shimla. The erstwhile British summer Capital and one of the most popular hill stations of the country, this place has no surprises to spring on the discerning traveler. And yet we decided to go to Shimla... Since we were constantly scolded for going for our honeymoon along with five other people (which included two children), we almost felt pressurised to go for our 'real' honeymoon! But, why Shimla?Well, it so happened that during a cleaning process in my husband's office, a visiting card fell on his desk and he by chance looked at it. The card said Woodville, Shimla. Curiosity led to an Internet search and this is what he found - Woodville Palace is one of those beautiful hotels in Shimla which the town can boast about. But this is not what prompted us to go there. What really inspired this decision was that Swami (Sai Baba) had also stayed there (I wonder he had sent the visiting card to us).Back home, I was offered, "Let's go to Shimla for three days this week." Not being the instinctive decision maker type, I was apprehensive and skeptical. But promptly, the website was shown to me and I was impressed. One call to Woodsville and the booking was made. We seemed to have got a nice room at an okay cost. Even after the tickets were bought for the to and fro bus journey, till the last minute I kept wondering, "are we really going?" It was natural, considering the way things were planned. But in no time, I found myself in the bus comfortably seated right behind the driver's seat. The paranthas lovingly packed by mommy were gobbled down at the Delhi ISBT itself. Rest of the seven hour journey was after all, meant to be spent dozing off.By the time, we reached Kalka, I started getting jittery and instantly ate the Avomine I had carefully kept in my pocket (I've always hated the ride to the hill stations). It worked and I peacefully slept straight till I heard some people shouting Shimla, Shimla. As soon as we descended from the bus | | By: Bikkupedia Unlimited | | |
| | T-Woods '03 | | 2007-03-02 21:10:00 | | The value of this story lies solely in the fact that it includes Zim, the 4th overall pick in the 2005 MLB draft. We lived in the same hall our first year of college. It should be noted that the 4th overal pick in the 2006 NFL draft also lived in our dorm. We nodded to each other from time to time. One of my Hanukkah gifts that year was Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 for PlayStation 2, which became a huge hit on my hall. For some reason I had more skill at T-Woods than anything I’d ever done. I was simply amazing and never lost. My hallmate, SanFranCrazy, got into the game more than anybody, and even created a player ranking system. Of course, I was number one.One night SanFranCrazy organized a huge tournament to determine the true Tiger Woods champion. We had eight players playing in two separate heats, with the four winners playing in the championship round. SanFranCrazy held the tournament in his dorm room, and even designed stadium seating so that spectators could watch.I was the favor | | By: I'VE STILL GOT BOTH MY NUTS: A TRUE CANCER BLOG | | |
