    Opposite Immune Systems Attract and A Glimpse at World Politics

    I once read something that stated one of the mysterious ways people were attracted to one another was through immune systems.  In the same mysterious way that certain breeds of Sandpiper females are attracted to the best male Sandpiper dancer, humans are supposedly attracted in some genetic way to people who will assist us is giving our offspring (or our species in general) the best hope of survival.  I am always sick, as I am now, and Beth is never sick.  I guess this means that Beth has a very strong immune system, whereas my immune system is lacking a key ingredient, immunity.  I remember the professor who was teaching the college course in which Beth and I met once pulled me aside after class and said, “Are you aware that all you did was stare at that girl the entire class?”  Now I thought I was checking her out because she was really cute, but it’s possible that my weakened antibody-producers somehow got a whiff of her “strong like bull”...
