| Red Sox Road Woes Continue ...Kansas City Royals 4 Boston Red Sox 3...PAPI'S WRIST? Click On The Title Of My Post | | 2008-08-05 04:40:00 | | Monday night in Kansas City, the Boston Red Sox were beaten by the Kansas City Royals, continuing a seemingly unending string of road calamities. Clay Buchholz was undone by the end of the third inning. After giving up a first inning home run to Alex Gordon, he then gave up three more runs in the third on three singles, two walks and a hit batter. That was all the scoring for the Royals, but it was enough to down the visiters. Sox manager Tito Francona had this to say after the game concluded..."He was pitching with such confidence, his body language, he was working quicker, he was coming off the mound with some aggression," manager Terry Francona said of the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings. "But we got into that bind in that one inning. There were a lot of baserunners, and he was trying to be perfect. Just need to limit the damage. He's growing. We talked about when he came back that it's still a work in progress, and we acknowledged that. But I do like the way he went back out and h... | | By: Peter's Red Sox Forever | | |

| | A wrist watch or a video player? | | 2008-02-03 01:23:49 | | Hi guys, I might be a bit late in posting this, and maybe some of you must have already read about this cool-looking watch on other famous blogs like engadget or gizmodo. But for those of you who are not so geeky as the others (lucky for me, or you wouldn't be reading my post here), I am talking about the Brando MP4 wrist watch, which is not just a digital watch, but also an MP4 player.Yup, it supports videos for both MPEG and Windows Media formats. You can use it to record and listen audio, play video clips and store files. From what I have found, the quality of the MPEG4 recordings is very high, an hour takes about 60 megabytes of storage. It also boasts an FM tuner, voice recorder, photo viewer, "eBook reader," a 1.8-inch 160 x 128 resolution display, five preset equalizer modes, USB 2.0 connectivity, and yes, even a built-in speaker if you're not down with headphones. | | Garmin Forerunner 305 Wrist-Mounted GPS Fitness Computer with Heart Rate Monitor | | 2008-01-05 21:32:29 | | great and most powerful toolI love it. I have it for 2 weeks, did more than 12 workouts (even used it in my car to measure distances - for 80miles driving the difference between the car's odometer and the forerunner was less than a half mile. The watch (or the computer) is great. It has so many advantages than the Polar. For this price is more than perfect. And so far is the best tool on market for running. There are only two disadvantages: the elevation is not accurate at all - so just don't look at it and if you get into deep forest or under bridge for more than 15 sec the forerunner will lose the satellites - then have to slow down or stop for a while to get connected again.Once you get it don't forget to download the firmware updates and upload them in your unit. The Garmin training center software is not the best for analysis but you can use other like SportTracks.I am buying another one for my spouse.Garmin nuviThe Forerunner series provides outdoor athletes and runners with real-time information about speed, distance, and heart rate all on a single device with an easy to read display. With features like auto-lap/pause/learn/scroll, training assistant tools, various alerts, and Training Center, the Forerunner enabled people to use all of that data to train smarter and more effectively. The Forerunner 305 will serve as the next generation Forerunner family. The Forerunner x05 series will incorporate many of the same great features of the Forerunner x01 series such as ease-of-use, large easy to read display, and software training features while improving other areas of the design to better meet the demands of athletes.GPS: High-Sensitivity SiRFstarIIIarchitectureWireless: Communication between system devices via ANT protocolLap Memory: 1,000 lapsWaterproof: IEC 60529 IPX7 standards (submersible in one meter of water for up to 30 mins.)Alerts: Time, distance, pace and heart rate Technorati tags: Garmin, GPS, Gadgets, Gadget.... | | By: Really Cool Gadgets, New Gadget Review, Gadget New | | |

| Garmin Forerunner 205 Wrist-Mounted GPS Fitness Computer | | 2007-12-19 06:29:04 | | Awesome device for marathon runners This is a great device. I was shocked by how well it works and all it can do. I no longer have to run on pre-planned routes to keep track of my mileage. I don't have to worry about pace or distance in races that don't have mile markers. All this information is on the watchface and can be uploaded to my computer and permanently stored at the touch of a button. It also keeps track of calories burned and shows your routes in gps format on the computer. It is extremely user-friendly. The only drawback is the size. I have a small wrist and it is kind of heavy. Definitely worth its weight though. I'm sure Garmin is working on this aspect for future models. If there is a distance runner on your X-mas list--this is the ultimate gift. Garmin nuviJust when you thought Garmin had cornered the market on powerful, affordable, and effective wrist-mounted GPS devices, here comes the Forerunner 205. The release of this device is a major achievement from a design and technology perspective. This isn't just marketing-speak; the Forerunner 205 is the most accurate, most reliable wrist-mounted performance and GPS tracking tool we've ever tested. Yes, it's that good. While no device this compact can do everything (yet), the 205 pushes the boundaries of what is possible from something strapped around your wrist. While the 205 doesn't offer heart rate monitoring, or connectivity with Garmin's wireless speed and cadence sensor -- for that, you'll need to step up to the Forerunner 305 -- but it's a great way to get basic GPS location and performance data. With the Garmin Forerunner 205, form meets function with a sleek and stylish personal trainer. Designed for athletes of all levels, this running partner and personal trainer tracks your every move with a super-sensitive GPS. The GPS tool even works on tree-covered trails and near tall buildings. It continuously monitors your speed, distance, pace and calories burned so you can train smarter, mor... | | By: Really Cool Gadgets, New Gadget Review, Gadget New | | |
| | Original ledy's watch: mirror, mirror on your wrist | | 2007-12-17 12:02:36 | | Looking for a cool gift for the geek who has everything? I really dig this shiny new digital watch and its dramatic styling.Concealed behind the mirrored face of the Reflection watch dwells a bright red LED display which only shows itself when illuminated. When it’s not telling the time, it’s perfect for checking out your good looks. The super-shiny finish is a perfect complement to the Reflection’s highly-polished gunmetal band. There’s something about the retro-modern style of LED watches that always catches my eye. I especially like the fact that the display on this one is a little different from the typical 7-segment readout, using a dot-matrix to render the current time instead. The Reflection watch features a durable mineralite lens with a polarized mirror finish, and a sturdy stainless steel case and band. You can find it at LEDWatchStop for $159 USD.... | | By: Gifts For All | | |
| | Baseball's Wrist Slap | | 2007-12-13 15:55:00 | | The Mitchell Report on Steroid use in Baseball came out today and named names.Big Deal. This report means nothing to me because:1. They have made it clear that there will be no punishment for the people named in this report. So essentially, it is toothless.2. The report does not address amphetamine use, which is 10X worse and widespread in baseball than steroids3. It mentions that most of the players have moved onto to HGH, which cannot be detected in standard urine testsIf Selig wanted to make a statement he would have:1. Included punishment for current/past/future players that would have included a lifetime suspension/records deleted from the book/banishment from the HOF2. Named names for the amphetamine use, turned over to the DEA3. Announced research into new tests that can detect HGH (Like this: http://www.cnn.com/2004/SPORT/08/12/pound.hgh/index.html)The players named in the report may lose in the court of public opinion, but that's about it. This report is just another exampl... | | By: Genius of Love | | |

the wrist is injured in all sports... | | 2007-02-20 00:03:00 | | WRIST AILMENTSthe wrist is injured in all sports as are the figures. The wrist is very responsive to acupressure or pressure acupuncture. There are a number of important points in this area which besides having use in wrist arthritis or general systemic problems. The figures will be repeated when these illnesses are discussed, but for now the wrist itself is the object of our attention. Wrist hand point I is described in figure 16. Pressure can be used with or without massage.Wrist injuriesWrist-hand point 2 fig. 17 is an important point for wrist injuries. It can be used either with pressure alone or with rotation of the finger. The applications should be for several minutes at a time and more than one point can be stimulated simultaneously. Of course, if the injured party is working on himself, the uninjured hand works on the injured. If both hands or wrist are involved, he may need help. The next two points , wrist-hand 1... | | 2007-02-19 23:53:00 | | Forearm PainThe next two points , wrist-hand 10 and wrist-hand 11 (fig 25 and 26) have an important use in acupuncture anesthesia, since these points are used in chest operations, including open heart surgery and lung resections, unbelievable as it may be. However, on one here is suggesting that such a use should be applied at this time. They are useful in wrist and forearm pain, nevertheless. Fig. 25Wrist-hand point 10 (triple Burner 5)Located on the back side of the forearm three fingerbreadth from the middle of the wrist crease. See also fig. 96The two points can be pressed simultaneously by the middle or index finger and the thumb. Straight pressure or pressure with rotation can be used. Since these points are remote from the wrist itself, in the common sprained wrist, they can be pressed described points and thus have their value enhanced.
