Farewell Lou
2011-06-10 22:07:00
Have you ever felt close to someone you have never met yet? I do! It's not a love for someone in the opposite sex like the one you meet on Facebook, Friendster, and other social networking sites or your textmates and chatmates where it either turns into a broken heart or the love blossoms into a wonderful relationship. It's a love and care I feel like she's a family to me...
And it's weird because our connection is through work. She hired me for a freelance work as a transcriber and then more jobs came after that.
So when her husband was diagnosed of cancer early this year, my heart was hurt. :( I have never talked to him nor exchange emails with him. But I felt how hard it is for them. But... I am also so proud of how positive she is about the situation. There was no instance that I heard from her that they are going to give up. She looked for every means to cure him, motivate and make him...

isdaan rainy day experience
2011-05-31 00:29:00
What comes to your mind when you hear the word “isdaan”? What else? Of course, anything related to fishes. But, have you thought of going to Isdaan to see big statues and feel like you’re in a different country like Thailand? When we first saw the pictures of our friends with these statues, we thought it was not here in the Philippines. That intrigued us to visit the place. Fresh Catch Isdaan, The Halfway to the North Floating Resto-Park is located in Gerona, Tarlac. And with us coming from Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija, it would just be a few hours travel...We are excited to go to Isdaan not because of the food. We would just like to see the park and take pictures. But of course, who wouldn’t want the food huh? Not us. Hehe! However, the weather is not cooperating with us. It ra...

Monasteryo de Tarlac
2011-05-29 23:32:00
“You are not here by coincident. You are here because you are called by God.” – Officiating Priest in the Mass
Our plan is just to go and eat lunch at Isdaan in Gerona, Tarlac. But while talking about the plan with tatay, ate, and Jan Ray, they suggested that we also go to a monastery where the relic of the True Cross of Jesus is kept. And since Monasteryo de Tarlac is just near it, we opted to visit the place first and attend the mass then go to Isdaan afterwards... The monastery is located at the top of the mountain in Mt. Resurrection Eco Park in Brgy. Lubigan, San Jose, Tarlac. From Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija, it’s just a 2-hour travel by land. The view on the way up to the mountain is beautiful, lots of greens, trees, and fresh air. While looking at the sight, we had a thought on why people keep on living in a polluted and populated cities when there are places that are clean, beautiful, and peaceful like this. Oh well, that’s their choi...

Mountain Biking in the City
2011-05-14 19:37:00
We live in a city and we love to bike. But, is there a place to go mountain biking in the crowded city of Metro Manila where all you can see are tall buildings and people that are always in a hurry? Yes, there is. One of them is in Fort Bonifacio’s MTB Trail in Taguig.
Bem has been there a couple of times. He always tells me that it is a nice place to mountain bike since there’s a trail good for both beginners and experts. It is not just a flat surface like roads where thrill comes from the thought of biking alongside with fast cars and motorcycles and smoke belcher jeepneys and buses who always stop and wait for passengers. And the humps! Oh, we love them. :) So yesterday, we went to MTB Trail at The Fort together...
There is one for beginners so I want to give it a try. We are excited on our way going there. From Pasong Tamo in Makati, we reached our destination riding our bike. Upon reaching, Bem left his ID at the gate and we signed up in their log book. Then we ...

Sumaguing Cave and Hanging Coffins - Sagada
2011-04-18 03:56:00
After more than 12 hours of travelling on the road and many hours of waiting... Do we still have the energy? Of course!!! :) The cool breeze of air... pine trees... small town.. rice terraces.. mountains.. locals.. serene place.. These are just some of the many things that gave us the energy we needed. And our first destination? Sumaguing Cave and hanging coffins!!! Go go go spelunking!
After getting off the bus, we first looked for the nearest place to eat and have our lunch. Then, we go to Parish Center (supposedly St. Jo, but they were overbooked) to leave our bags and check in. After 20min of rest, we then went out to see Karlo, Gloria, and Cherry.
The first step to go around Sagada is to register at their Municipal Hall. So, from there, we asked for tours and guides that will bring us to our destinations. Excited as we were, and Sagada being famous for their caves, we put Sumaguing as our first destination. These pictur...

While on the Road - 1st Day of Our Sagada Trip
2011-04-18 01:20:00
This was our first trip together. It was one week long, two days of which were spent travelling on the road.We are supposed to be booked with Cable Tours. Unfortunately, the bus company said that due to the volume of passengers, they will no longer have advance booking and will just do a first come first serve basis on the date of travel. Well, to be able to buy tickets for two, I went to Cable Tours terminal at 6am. I also met two other passengers who were informed the same way that it will be a first come first serve basis. So, I wake up early on that day just to get disappointed....
Oh well... S*#+ happens. They said that there were no more seats available as all were already booked. F*#@*## S*@*! They have our contact numbers. They should have informed us!!Okay, no more of the bad vibes.. I need to have another option. Besides, they are not the only bus company that can bring us to Sagada. Bembem’s flight is at 1:50 in the afternoon so I still have time to reserved tickets...

eyes of a child

[kids guiding on a trek going
to Big Falls in Sagada, Mt. Province]
These children still have that "faculty of wonder". If for us we only have seven wonders of the world, maybe for a child, they have seven million! Or even more than that... :)
Well, we've been to different places... and every time we see kids, we can't help but take photos of them. There's just something in them, like a magnet, that attracts us..
And the result is always beautiful or should we say...
...awakening...

pearl farm
2011-04-02 13:56:00
We went to Davao last January of this year and we were so excited to be at the largest city of the Philippines. What we do not know is that there’s more waiting for us on our second day there.
Yes, we’ve done our research and saw pictures of Pearl Farm Beach Resort in the Internet. But, we didn’t expect what we’ve seen and experienced... the place is really really really awesome!!! And the service is really fantastic! You’ll experience the best service you’ll have...
Well, we booked our flight 7 months prior to our travel date paying only P300+. That is already a round trip fare for the two of us and our itinerary was Manila to Davao then to CDO back to Manila. Can you imagine that? Thanks to Cebu Pacific’s Zero Fare promo. Our airfare is even cheaper than the terminal fee at the airport!Okay, so what we availed was a Day Tour package with the resort and that costs us Php1550 each. The package includes the following:1. Boat to and from the island resort situated a...

puerto galera
2011-03-17 23:37:00
Summer is just around the corner and I bet you are already looking forward for a beachy escapade. But... your budget is limiting you to stay inside your cube! Or you don't have time to take a time off...
Well, don't you know that not all outings are expensive? And not all requires you to take an extra 2 or 3 days off from your work... Last year, me and Bem went to Puerto Galera along with our 4 other friends. We stayed at Lan Sei Resort and I can say that the place is beautiful. There are only few people staying there at that time so we had a chance to fully utilize the facilities the resort provides (videoke, billiard, and swimming pool). Did I mention that their food is also great? Yes it is! Very delicious yet cheap. Even cheaper than when you are going to eat at the restaurants near the shore.
Oh well, let's skip the details and let's go directly to our itinerary. It is a two-day trip (overnyt) for the 6 of us. You can see below our IT and the actual amount we spent. Each co...
