Dates for Star Tours 2011 at Hollywood Studios
The dates for the 2011 Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been announced, and they’ll kick off with a big event. C-3PO himself, Anthony Daniels, will be on hand to reopen Star Tours as a brand new 3D ride.
Star Wars Weekends will be held four weekends -- each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from May 20 to June 12. The full schedule for the Weekends hasn’t been announced yet, but Anthony Daniels has been confirmed to be in attendance for the first two weekends. Ashley Eckstein, the voice of Ahsoka Tano in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”, will be in attendance every weekend as the celebrity host.
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue is set to open on May 20, the first day of Star Wars Weekends. Although Daniels and Eckstein have been confirmed to be in attendance for the opening, there’s no word yet if Star Wars creator George Lucas will be on hand. But George and producer Rick McCall...

Universal Orlando Summer Concert Series Lineup
Get ready for summer as top musical acts will be taking the stage for six nights this summer at Universal Studios Orlando.
With a combined total of 30 platinum albums, this year’s concert lineup features artists, some old and some new who have each led the U.S. music charts.
The list of performers includes: Drake, one of only two musical artists to have his first two Top 10 songs occur in the same week, Grammy award-winning hip-hop artist Nelly, legendary female rock band Go-Go’s and multi-platinum rockers Third Eye Blind.
On each of the nights listed below, guests can dance along to a live concert at the Music Plaza Stage in the glow of colorful LED lights from the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster.

Here is a bit of my personal experience while visiting Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. I hadn’t been to Animal Kingdom since the year it opened, which was 1998. That week it first opened, it was so busy that I didn’t get the chance to appreciate it. All these years, I have been numerous times to the other Disney parks but never had gone back to Animal Kingdom. I had lived with the attitude that it was too zoo-like. After this past Friday I have such a newfound respect and appreciation with what Disney is doing with this park. It was easy to see why over 2.9 million people visited the park last year alone. Expansion Progress of Fantasyland at Walt Disney World
For all of us who have enjoyed the “Snow White’s Scary Adventure” ride at the Magic Kingdom, it is a sad day. Part of the expansion at the Magic Kingdom is to replace this with a meet-and-greet area for Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora, and other animated heroines. This will be called “Princess Fairytale Hall”.
Our beloved Snow White will not be forgotten. On the bright side, a new indoor coaster is among the new elements being planned for this project. This experience will offer park guests a first of it’s kind ride system where the vehicles swing back and forth along a twisted track. This will be set to music from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and is likely to be called “The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train”. Expansions were initially announced back in September 2009, but since then revisions have been made.

Disney Magic Kingdom to start new show at Cinderella Castle

A dramatic new projection show filled with special effects is starting tonight at the Magic Kingdom. Cinderella Castle will transform into a shimmering canvas for images and special effects.
The ten-minute experience called “The Magic, The Memories, and You!” will dazzle park guests with playful animated sequences that seem to defy the architecture of the buildings. The spectacle is scheduled most nights with up to two shows per night depending on theme park operating hours and other special ticketed events.

Disney Cruise Ship "The Disney Dream"
With a dash of Disney magic and a surprising twist, a helicopter hoisted a 16-foot "champagne bottle" across the bow of the Disney Dream during a christening ceremony this morning officially welcoming the newest ship to the Disney Cruise Line family.
Serving the traditional role of godmother for the Disney Dream christening was Jennifer Hudson, the Academy Award and Grammy Award winner whose own dreams of stardom began when she was a performer on the Disney Wonder ship in 2003.
Hudson was joined onstage by Disney CEO Bob Iger and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs, as the enormous "champagne bottle" filled with dreams of adventure, romance and fun was lifted into the air and broken across the bow of the 130,000-ton ship.
Some 3,000 people were gathered at the Disney Dream for the christening ceremony including celebrities, media and members of the public.

Universal Cineplex at Universal Orlando to go completely Harry Potter on November 19!
This is unheard of!!! The Universal Cineplex at Universal Studios Orlando will go totally Harry Potter for the premiere evening of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1.” At 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, all 20 screens, including the IMAX screen, will be devoted to the new film! Universal is expecting to sell out this event. If you miss the first showing, you can see it at 3:15 a.m. in the IMAX theatre.
Guests can also purchase a special combo ticket that includes Thursday evening showings of the two most recent Potter flicks, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” before the 12:01 showing of “Deathly Hallows.” The ticket for all three films is $20.
