2008-01-23 07:57:33
While it comes as no surprise to me that she was going to move somewhere, it was a monumental announcement that it would be Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean International named former Carnival Cruise Lines cruise industry veteran Vicki Freed as the company’s senior vice president of Sales. Main competitors for many years, this will be a big shakeup in the cruise industry in the battle between the big two. Freed joins the company after 29 years with Carnival Cruise Lines, where she spent the last 15 years as senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, Freed served in a variety of sales management positions within the cruise line. From 1998 to 2000, Freed also served as the first, and only, female chairman of the Cruise Line International Association, the marketing and travel agent training arm of the North American cruise industry. ...

2008-01-20 19:40:49
Carnival Cruise Lines wasn’t standing on its laurels as the world’s largest cruise operator in 2007 alone as it made history by winning a record number of awards during the past year, especially in the final weeks of 2007 with several additional accolades from a variety of esteemed organizations. Just a few weeks ago, I wrote about Carnival receiving a number of awards from Porthole Magazine, but now they have taken it one step further.
