Blurb blog book is finished
2012-03-15 20:26:00
The book was suppose to arrive mid March but ended up on my door step in just 5 short days.  I didn't even opt in for the express shipping.  Fantastic! The quality of the book is superb.  I went to the middle grade gloss paper for the content of the book and I am really happy with the quality.  It is exactly like any of my other coffee table books. Here is a photo of Tegan with the keepsake book of our trip to New Zealand.  There are still a couple of typos to fix in the photo descriptions, but overall the book is 10/10! My plan is to get another book published and then giving it to Tegan so she can keep it forever with her. I highly recommend Blurb for publishing blogger blogs.  You will have to do a bit of tweaking, but it is WYSIWYG, so make sure you are happy with the look of it prior to printing it.  The total cost was $148.99 for the book, but I used a coupon code I found online and my final cost was $142.42 including the shipping. ...

Creating a Blurb blog book
2012-03-15 19:57:00
I just spent the last 4 days working on the creation of a book from the content of this blog.  It was a fairly straight forward process.  I did freshen up all the photos and added a few new ones as well as running all the text through spell check.  I am looking forward to having the printed copy in hand.  So, far I am recommending the Blurb publishing website and program.  I will let you know if my money was wisely spent and I have a keepsake as I that is what I wanted to create. 2011 Rugby World Cup hours away!
2011-09-08 17:40:00
Only 9 hours until the opening ceremonies for the 2011 Rugby World Cup! Only 23 hours until we board our plane for New Zealand! I have been busy with many last minute preparations and I have to find a high note on this crap of a day I got dealt today.  I hope to watch the opening ceremonies with my family before leaving for the airport.  One of our bags is a couple of pounds too heavy, the other isn't packed yet, but we have a bunch of stuff to go into the bag yet, like a 10 pound box of chocolate bars a friend of ours gabe us to bring to her family in NZ.  Hopefully your travel preparations are going smoothly or you are already landed in New Zealand.  We can't wait to begin this adventure! September Air New Zealand Entertainment 2011
2011-08-31 01:36:00
Only 10 days to go and we are heading to New Zealand for the 2011 Rugby World Cup! Air New Zealand just released their in-flight entertainment line-up for September 2011. Tegan will be eager to learn what options she has in the form of movies, tv programs and games, can't wait to share this with her tomorrow. I am interested in the The King's Speech. The Fighter, Bridesmaids , X-Men First Class for my movie options, Tegan has seen all of the options for family films except the movies The Hopes & Dreams of Gazza Snell, Camp Rock and College Road Trip.  She really likes to play Hangman, so she will likely being asking Sam or Jacob to play against her. We get to sit with our friends on the trip down to NZ.  Should make for more memorable trip. I also heard that some of the games on the flight are interactive and you will be playing against those traveling with you; games like "Who wants to be a millionaire".  The links for the In-Flight Entertainment are here...

Canada lose match to Baa-Baas
2011-08-26 13:00:00
From the start of the game, The RC boys were in this one to win.  The level of play I thought exceeded anything they displayed when playing against USA.  That is what happens when you play better teams.  The Baa-baas were the better team on the night and they found the gaps and exploited them, usually for points.  DTH Van De Merwe played a game on par with any of the Baa-Baas last night and in my opinion the dominant player for Canada. Weaknesses to build on are: Tackles - I thought there were a few to many missed tackles and some of these created those gaps that the Baa-Baas used to punish Canada with metres or points. Territory - Still playing too much of the game in the opponents half.  (But I don't want a kicking game!) Magic - I know the team is not made up of 30th level Wood Elves, but there needs to be a little more of that ESP working... bonding further for the next month will help this I am sure. Can't wait to see the boys play, practice and c...

AUS Barbarians selected for Canada game
2011-08-21 13:08:00
Canada left Vancouver for Gold Coast via Auckland on Friday and prepare for the battle against the Barbarians this Friday night (3am MST) in a pre RWC 2011 warm up game. Combined experience of Australian Barbarians side is 407 test matches, the Canadians stat is 450 test matches for the 30-man RWC 2011 team.  We do have a chance to squeak by this one, if we play well as a team and the Barbarians do not.  There are a lot of big names in this list. The Australian Barbarians team to play Canada at Skilled Park on Friday night, (kick off 8.05pm AEST) is:15. Lachie Turner (NSW Waratahs)14. Rod Davies (Queensland Reds)13. Rob Horne (NSW Waratahs)12. Matt Giteau (Brumbies)11. Drew Mitchell (NSW Waratahs)10. Berrick Barnes (NSW Waratahs)9. Nick Phipps (Melbourne Rebels)8. Pat McCutcheon (NSW Waratahs)7. Matt Hodgson (Western Force)6. Dave Dennis (NSW Waratahs)5. Nathan Sharpe (Western Force, captain)4. Sitaleki Timani (NSW Waratahs)3. James Slipper (Queensland Reds)2. Tatafu Polota...

NZ EB Games Rugby Challenge gameplay video
2011-08-18 17:24:00
Here is a fantastic little video of the side view gameplay option for Sidhe's Rugby Challenge.  What a fantastic display of rugby action.  The animation of players on the field really brings a sense of realism to the game.  Look at how the player's head follows the chip kick as he chases the ball down.  My money is waiting for Rugby Challenge. Wish I could have been there to get my hands on a little gameplay with this title.  Wait is worth it though.   Subscribe to this blog  ...

IRB World Rankings - Canada better Rank
2011-08-15 10:52:00
IRB the governing body over Rugby Union announced it's updated world rankings of international teams and Canada has increased 2 spots to sit ahead of Tonga but slightly behind Japan.  France has taken 4th spot from England as well. We now sit nestled between the two teams we will face in New Zealand.  Our first game is against Tonga and the 3rd game is against Japan.  It is shaping up to be an interesting tournament for Canada.  I am hoping the NSMT only improve on their gameplay prior to the RWC.  I just watched an ITM test match from New Zealand and the degree of play from these teams is much better than what was seen in the Saturdays match. I will be a great supporter of Canadian rugby when in New Zealand and a fine example, for my daughter, with my patriotism towards our country and our team. Canada's defense contained the USA
2011-08-14 11:19:00
Great game last night by the Canadian National Mens Team, score was 27-7 in favour of Canada.  The boys put on a defensive clinic and showed the Eagles they haven't got what it takes to get by our boys. The only points put up on the board by USA, went under review by the TMO and they made the wrong call by allowing the try.  The ball was never touched down in my opinion.  It was in the air when the USA player Blaine Scully. There was also a missed foot in touch by Todd Clever that preceded a penalty against Canada (in other parts of the world it is just called a USA penalty) or was it a yellow card.  The yellow cards were delivered freely by Mark Lawrence, not sure if he had been given specific instructions prior to the game or what.  The calls seemed to go against Canada most of the time, I am not complaining, that is just how it was.  Another area to work on boys! Here is slo-mo of the questionable try by USA The defense last night was stellar...

August '11 Air New Zealand Entertainment
2011-08-12 00:05:00
In 4 weeks time we will be boarding our plane for New Zealand.  I can't wait to experience my first flight outside of North America...  The flight is nearly chock full, only 8 single seats remain. As for the entertainment on the flight: I have looked over the current selection for August and the options seem very good indeed.  Here are the current entertainment options from Air NZ: Movies and TV Radio and CD Games and Kid Stuff My daughter Tegan would be happy with this months entertainment and I am sure it won't disappoint when September's programming comes out. Can't wait for these 4 weeks to pass.  Going to be a blast!   Subscribe to this blog  ...
