Squad analysis after season 3
2012-02-07 23:51:09
Dear readers, today is the day to analyze current QPR squad and find the weakest areas. First of all, let’s take a look at all players sorted by average rating: I would like to make 2 rankings singling out best of them. Best Q.P.R. players 1. Jay Rodriguez, 47 goal in 47 matches! 7.60 2. Marco Verratti, 23 assists in 47 matches. 7.12 3. Ivelin Popov, 7 goals + 9 assists in 34 matches. 7.2 Best Q.P.R. newcomers 1. Alvaro Vadillo (AML, AMR), 7.07 2. Craig Cathcart (DC), 7.06 3. Carlos Fierro (SC), 6.82 Now, when awards are given, it’s time for in-depth analysis by positions. Goalkeeper Ospina was a very good goalie during the season. He is one of the team leaders actually. The only problem I have on this position: finding a good backup keeper who would...

Q.P.R. Poor substitution bench
2012-02-05 02:28:35
Dear readers, Season 3 ending became the worst period of the football year for Q.P.R. It was really unexpected because I was pretty sure to take the 5th position in the league. Moreover, Europa League final turned into an absolute misfortune. But let’s consider all tournaments one by one. Q.P.R. is only the 7th in the Premier League We took 4 points more than in the last season but it didn’t help. All 6 PL grand clubs played very well this season. You can compare top of the PL tables. Previous season table Last Q.P.R. matches The schedule of the matches was too tough for my team. We’re not ready to play a game every second day. The schedule uncovered a serious problem linked with lack of good defensive substitution players. This is the reason of all failures in th...

Season 3. Priorities of tournaments
2012-01-31 23:51:43
Hello everybody, It’s my time to report about Q.P.R. progress in 3 tournaments: Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League. I should say I hardly set priorities between them. FA Cup seems the easiest for us to win. Winning Europa League would be a great success for European debut. Highly set bar of the 5th place in the last Premier League demands to repeat the result at least… But PL competition is very high. I hope you will help me with priorities for the tournamnets writing some comments! Q.P.R. matches I would call the reported time period as almost excellent. It could be better if QPR would get at least draws in away matches against Arsenal and Man City. 13 matches: 9 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses We progressed into Europa League semifinals what seems as a great achievemen...

Q.P.R. Significant winter matches
2012-01-26 00:44:56
Hello my dear readers, Another Q.P.R. story report today for you. Well, everything is fine regarding results now. But at the moment I would like to start with the transfer window overview. Winter transfers The board didn’t give me additional money leaving $8.5M I had unspent after the summer transfer window. So I was unable to spend much, and actually I didn’t want to do it because of the negative balance: $-15M Players out I let many youngsters to go on loan due to high competition for the Reserves first eleven. My reserve keeper Boaz Myhill decided to leave the team due to lack of match practice. Players in Unfortunately, I didn’t buy any right back as it was intended. Merely there were no inexpensive footballers equal to Hinkel who would join QPR. I hope th...

Amazing season 3 start
2012-01-15 01:01:46
Hi all! Frankly speaking I didn’t expect so amazing season start. Yes, I understand my players are blended into the real team already. It’s great because, if you remember, I had made the squad revolution 1 year ago. But nevertheless my squad is only the 9th by strength by media prediction. The same was confirmed in my comparative team analysis. The amazing results described below can be related to my tactical scheme (the best I ever created!) and player selection approach. Q.P.R. results Q.P.R. played 16 matches with the following results: 11 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses First of all, I am happy regarding amount of games without conceded goals. It’s the biggest suprise to see excellent work by defenders and goalie in the season. We started the season very well making 4 victori...

Comparative team analysis before the 3rd season
2012-01-10 11:16:24
Dear readers, I decided to make another off-season post describing current Q.P.R. squad strength in comparison with other Premier League clubs. Media prediction for the 3rd season is much better than before the last season - 9th position. What I also like about the screen shot above is Highly Professional squad personality. It should be a reliable basement for future trophies which I hope to get in several years. Club reputation Currently I think a lot about my club reputation and the ways to improve it. You see Q.P.R. has only 3 reputation stars staying on the same level with Sunderland, Bolton, West Brom, Bristol City and even Nottingham Forrest. Low club reputation doesn’t allow to attract better players. Therefore its improvement is one of my main season targets. &...

Q.P.R. changes before the 3rd season
2012-01-08 11:09:21
Hello everybody! After the unexpected season 2 outcome, I decided it’s time to strengthen Q.P.R. status in the Premier League repeating Europa League qualification success again. Therefore the following season expectations were claimed by me: So I promised board to qualify into Europa League again. They gave me $33M for transfers and $1.2M for wages. Transfer strategy My transfer strategy was a quite simple this time. I set 2 main targets to achieve for the transfer window: - Buy a good central back and 2 wingers - Get some promising youngster for the Reserves So this summer I was tending to keep the squad formed after the squad revolution 1 year ago. Q.P.R. has the youngest squad in the league, and it’s easy to decide to make a stake on a youngsters’ growth. Digne, Ve...

Unexpected season 2 outcome!
2011-12-31 01:27:34
Yesterday in my “Battle for Europa League place” post I told about extremely interesting last fixtures in the Premier League. I played the fixtures and am going to write an emotional post today. As you remember Queens Park Rangers was going at the 6th position with 5 points of gap to the 5th and 7th ones. Here are all matches apart from 2 last fixtures: Sudden loss to West Ham and more logical defeat against The Red Devils were caused by our injury problems of attacking players. Take a look at the injury table after Manchester United match: Especially I was missing for Wright-Phillips and Popov because Oscar got suspended after a red card in the West Ham game. So I had not good wingers against Man Utd and Stoke at all!!! As a result I was using young and weak Obita on a left fl...
