A complete guide to choosing your weapons (REVISED)
2008-10-13 05:10:21
Post by ShannongUPDATE (June 3): After further extensive testing of my own, it appears that several assertions in the original version of this guide were wrong. (About half of my original version of this guide was based on reviews of other people's posts and observations, and the other half was based on my own testing.) The two significant changes based on my further testing are:Auto-attack "ticks" are largely independent of all other factors except that they are delayed (or possibly overwritten) by skills with long induction times. The only reason that faster weapons enable you to chain your various skills faster is due to the faster animations of the auto-attack "ticks" that fall in between your chained skills due to either the global cooldown timer or the cooldown timer of the next-que...

Lore master Combat Pet Guide
2008-10-01 16:46:58
POST BY lunatuna"Flanked!" is a "proc" effect that may randomly occur each time your pet auto-attacks a foe. The angle of your pet's attack does not matter: front, back, and sides are all the same. Pets with a faster attack rate, such as Raven, tend to Flank more often, but all pet types can Flank. The Sign of the Wild: Rage pet buff, Beast-Lore class trait and the Noble Savage legendary trait all increase attack speed on all pet types. When the Flanked effect occurs, you have 7 seconds in which to react by using either Improved Staff-strike or Sign of Power: Wizardry. Look for the Flanked icon as a debuff on your foe.If you use Improved Staff-strike while the foe is flanked, you also inflict instant light-based direct damage that equals roughly 170% of your basic Staff-strike damage. The t...

Guide inn league reputation
2008-09-29 11:52:30
post by boxmodelerIntroductionThis guide is intended to detail the various methods of earning reputation points with the Inn League faction. The Inn League reputation area can be found inside the Bird & Baby Inn, which can be found in Michel Delving, Shire, Eriador. The information found heboxmodelerre was originally discovered on the Roheryn preview server. I have since confirmed the information below is live on all servers as of 8/1/2008. As it stands now, you can only earn reputation during one of the quarterly festivals. In order to unlock the ability to earn reputation with the Inn League, you must first complete the Inn League reputation starter quest. This quest can be found at the Party Tree just north of Hobbiton in the Shire, but must be obtained during a Festival event. You must...

The Scholars Guide has been Updated!
2008-09-27 19:25:44
The Scholars Guide has been Updated! (August 21, 2008) The Scholar: "Perhaps the most mysterious of the professions, the Scholar collects fragments of lost lore, and attempts to interpret their secrets. In doing so, he can produce scrolls that other craftsmen can read to improve their chances of producing a superior product. They can craft Mysterious Tomes that assist Loremasters. They can create scrolls that can buff your fellowship. And finally, they can make potions that allow you to heal while in combat."The following Guide is a compilation of my time as a Grand Master Scholar, as well as the contributions of fellow LOTRO community members. It is updated frequently. Enjoy. FAQ:How do I advance from Apprentice Scholar to higher Levels?Once you fill in your initial Apprentice experienc...

Guide to get your level 20 Undying title
2008-09-18 18:18:00
This post is designed to help players achieve the lvl 20 'undying' title. So what makes me qualified to write this? I have three [Edit: five now] characters that have achieved the title on the Elendmir server. There is a lot of complaints about the nature of this title and about what the title say about you as a player. Frankly its all rubbish. The title works the way it works so we all have to play by the same rules to get the title so no amount of complaining is going to change the title's mechanics. Also no amount of sour grapes by other players who do not have the title is going to make me feel like its less of an accomplishment. The key to this title is questing and quest management. Some player talk about how the title means nothing because all you have to do is do green and light blue ...

LOTRO Warg guide
2008-09-18 18:18:00
Just to start off I would like to say that I am in no way one of the best wargs out here.. I don't think of myself as that but I do think that I've been out in the moors creepside to know a little bit of what I'm doing.Basically this is a guide more for solo wargs because that is mostly what I do myself. Along with that some of this works best for wargs r6 and above.. but a lot of it is common knowledge I would think. To start off with your skills.Bestial Claws: Your basic melee attack but it is kind of a big power sucker at 77 power.. it can be nice for burst DPS but should not be spammed.Crippling Bite: Very nice skill slows targets movement by 25% for 30s and costs 50 power which isn't too bad. If you are solo'ing by a place that has a lot of NPCs or one shots where a freep can run alway...
