| PS3 Firmware 2.40 Breaking PS3s? Help is Here! |

By now everybody has heard how Ps3 firmware update 2.40 turned some consoles into giant black bricks(and it is not model specific)...but, as it turns out, this doesn't affect all Ps3's and Kotaku has reported a way to undo the damage at the expense of saved files. Here is what the article says;"Users found that removing and reformatting their PS3 hard drive and then reinserting it into the console would get the system to boot completely, after which it asks to reformat the disk again and everything runs normally. Of course they lose all of their saved games and have to redo all of their downloads, but I suppose that is better than sending in the system for a $150.00 repair.One can only assume that the update was the catalyst that caused certain data on a...

OK...first of all,how come my readers can't send me any cool tips like these?
According to PS3Fanboy.com , somebody left this picture of PSN Trophies that will be available with Firmware 2.40 update. It seems authentic to me, though I am aware of talented digital imaging graduates with no jobs out there....R.C. I'm talking about you. So, it is up to you to decide whther this is real or bogus.
Then, when confusion was still intact at PS3Fanboy, another person who apparently claims to be a developer sends this picture in. Which features a user profile page that shows persons gamer level(which are earned by collecting trophies of all sorts) that gets harder to level up as players level goes up such as in CoD4.This developer person also alleges that, tapping PS button will bring out in-game XMB which will do most of its functions though some features will need players to quit game before accessing. Also, holding PS button will bring out the pre 2.40 menu options.Verdict: I don't know how...

PlayStation Network will not be accessible on June 24th for a scheduled maintenance that will last approximately 6 hours. The maintenance is supposed to start at 8am PT, and end by 2pm PT. Also, this goes for entire PSN. So, don't try logging onto PS Store either, because it too is down. Well, go out and enjoy some fresh air my fellow gamers, it will be good for you....

It has been a loong week for me, and it looks to be an even longer one for me, as my beloved PS3 will go under surgery...It turns out, Blu-Ray player on my PlayStation 3 was a faulty product and most PS3 Model#CECHG01's are undergoing repair and/or replacement. But, one thing that was positive in this ordeal has to be Sony Help Center repairing my PS3 that has gone over its warranty period for free. They could have asked the service fee of $149, for it has been a while since warranty expiration. Thank you Sony.

Ever since GTAIV launch, fanboys on both sides have been comparing their version of the game.It is no different than one guy telling another his d***k is bigger than the others, and the other responding "but you only last a minute".*Both systems have advantages over the next, Ps3 version installs itself in the beginning but then load times are shorter than 360.*Ps3 suffers from aliasing in comparison, but has less pop-in issues.*360 reaches higher frame-rate, but both versions seldom drop below acceptable frame-rates and Ps3 has a further draw distance, and clearer signs on buildings and such.The list goes on and on...but one I personally love, 360 pushes 720p and Ps3 (pushing 630p)can't. Last week, I downloaded playable demo of BF: Bad Company. And I've been playing online ever SINCE! It may not have the realism found in Call of Duty 4, but it sure has a lot of fun packed in. First of all, being able to destroy walls to get to my objective is probably the most satisfying feature in a multi player game(even though, I can't drop in on people by blowing up the ceiling :{ ). When playing Single Player campaign; BC, plays a lot like another FPS published by EA, Black. From how enemies seem to survive half a clip of bullets to how players can get swarmed by what feels like a never ending enemy assault...it feels quite similar to Black. PS3 VersionJust 2 days ago, I got my hands on Quake Wars...and I have to say, I am a huge fan of the series, or I should say I was until I switched to consoles to get my daily dose of games...Since then, it has been one disappointment after another. I do recognize that Id doesn't really work on console versions themselves, but rather let other studios handle the task, but I'd expect them to be more thorough on their check ups, so the games can be as great as their PC counterparts. Because, this game is nowhere near as good as anyone would expect a game baring the Quake name should be. Also, this game originally came out in '07 for PC. Announced back in E3 ’06, Haze has been in development by Free Radical, the creators of N64’s acclaimed shooters Golden Eye and Perfect Dark, for years. It was first announced for all, Xbox360, Ps3 and Pc. Later on Free Radical dropped 360 and PC versions of the title. But, focusing on one system did not really make any difference to the end result. As most of you know, I do not currently own a wii, therefore I have been posting other websites reviews for that console. But recently my buddy who has xbox360, got the red ring of death on his console, he sent it to Microsoft with power brick and everything, when we received it, he plugged everything excitedly just to see that, console he got back was totally fried, we called Microsoft, and they told us to send it back to them right away... Anyhow, cutting to the chase, I refuse to review games on a faulty product that will break every other month.I apologize to all xbox360 and wii owners for alienating them.

Sega has announced they will be publishing a new action game developed by Platinum Games and creators of Devil May Cry. The game is titled Bayonetta, which is also the main character's name. So, the story is; Bayonetta is a witch who is reborn in modern times to fight against angels. I know, I know...I said the review would be up by Saturday. But, it turned out I underestimated just how much one can do in Liberty City. Well, without further ado, I give you my review of Grand Theft Auto IV: Liberty City.When the game first starts, we get to see our protagonist Niko Bellic, lovable Eastern European guy with a chip on his shoulder, coming to US(Liberty City to be precise) on a cargo ship. Iron Man, has always been one of my favorite superheroes, he is just like Batman; a self-made superhero with no powers really, just a great mind and lots of money to buy all the things he needs to fight crime... On Friday, I went to see the movie, Iron Man, and I'd say it is tons of fun, with a few hints of a sequel in works. Then on Saturday afternoon, 12:15Pm exactly, I received my copy of Iron Man, the excitement was hard to bear...so, without wasting a second I went in...popped the CD in my PS3 and within 5 minutes I stopped to check if I got the PS2 version by mistake...And by 1:30Pm the game was back in its envelop sealed shut waiting to ship back on Monday. It has only been one day since the release of Gran Theft Auto IV, but the numbers have the look of a game that has been around for a month. With roughly over 2.5 million units sold in States, and over 1.4 million units in Europe, the total number is somewhere near 4.2 million units which generates at least $170M just on US soil...add almost that onto it with European and Asian sales and the number look staggering both unit and revenue-wise. If you were wondering, in US & surprisingly in UK, Xbox 360 outsold its Sony counterpart at a 3:2 rate, but Europe in general we see a mirror image of US by PS3 outselling 3:2 ratio. Considering how many PlayStations are out there, GTA sold more units per console on Sony.Source: Numerous reliable websites.

In a recently released video, Hideo Kojima wants us to see that he threw in some gameplay from the Original Metal Gear Solid that was released back in 1998 for PSOne, which come as flashbacks to Old Snake in the upcoming MGS4. Which don't come as a surprise to me, because the story kind of revolves around a little girl, who is said to be Sniper Wolf's daughter, plus the bosses of the game(The Beauty and The Beast Unit) are named after those in the first game(FOXHOUND). Also, another reference to MGS would be Meryl's Combat Unit is called The New FOXHOUND. | GTA IV Xbox360 / PS3 Comparison |

Just yesterday, I had a friend over to bring his Xbox360 version of GTA IV, so I could compare both consoles and see who comes on top. After playing for about an hour on both systems, I...uhm, We came to the conclusion that, both consoles are equal. Basically, on my TV, there were no visible diffrences while playing both on 1080i resolutions, except of course some pop ins on xbox, but thats because ps3 version loads a 3gig file on hard drive to minimize both that and load times. Audio-wise both systems deliver stellar performances. On a visual note though, xbox seems to be little more cleaner overall, but ps3 version has better smoke effects during explosions.Overall, both parties have nothing to b!*c# about...this is GTA at its finest.

From what I could tell, 360 version of the game sold 3:1 better than Ps3 version at this particular store. But that doesn't mean there weren't any loyal Sony fans out there... "We got your back Sony" "Some may get out the door fast..." "But we always catch 'em...", "And their friends" "Broward County Sheriff Office, Keeping Gamers Alive since GTAIII" "And this is what you get to afford by keeping the store open at midnight" Overall, it was a great joyous night for gamer all around US, no matter what system, everybody gets a 10/10 game... Ubisoft has just announced a Prince of Persia game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is scheduled to come out by Holiday 2008, and being developed by Ubisoft Montreal Studios; the guys who brought us Assassins Creed and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Trilogy.The game is to open a new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe, featuring a whole new gameplay and illustrative art-style. With only four days left till its release, I got to play the playable demo of Iron-Man on the PlayStation 3 system and had a friend play it on Xbox 360. Both versions of the game look almost identical from what I've seen, Iron-Man looks detailed and shiny, backgrounds are rather large with some detail and enemies are totally bland. Before the mission starts players are given the chance to upgrade their armor a la Armored Core, but this option was out of question on the demo, because Tony was broke... Combat system works fine, though not great when fighting using IM's arsenal attached to his arms, but close up fighting is another story. I don't know maybe I didn't know how to put together a combo but he seems to be throwing the same punch over and over...never a one-two, so it leaves me not...

Yesterday, I received my copy of GT5: Prologue and I can easily say; "I hadn't had white knuckles like I did playing this game, in a long time". When the game first started great graphics were expected, but such photo realism (even though I had seen the videos online), it blew my mind.
