| Afro Samurai video game trailer looks good |

Unfortunately, I haven't had much of an opportunity to familiarize myself with the animated series "Afro Samurai". After a little bit of investigation I learned that the lead character on the show is voiced by none other than Samuel L. Jackson and, according to Wikipedia, each episode costs an estimated One Million Dollars to create. I don't know what you think but that's a lot of coin to spend on a show that not many people know about. I must be in the minority because it appears this series is popular enough to warrant a new video game being made of it. After watching the trailer to this new game it appears that they spared no expense when it came to this incarnation of the show, and thats a good sign.

I admit never playing the almighty Prince of Persia series "Hey give me a break there's 12 of them" (2 in development). So I can't talk personally from experience regarding series but if I remember correctly when the discussion arose people gave it nothing but astounding reviews. Especially The Sands of Time series which included three games - The Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones. Well Ubisoft is back at it again, and this time giving Prince of Persia a whole new look to the series and judging from the video your about to see it looks amazing.

E3 is an amazing time for gamers as every minute of every day theirs something new being released and well, I'm proud to say I have another one for you. Have any of you heard of of the game "InFamous"?, I know I hadn't until today but I admit after watching the trailer this game has some promise. Developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment America it looks to be hitting store shelves sometime in 2009 for the Playstation 3. You might not have known that Microsoft on Monday showed off it's brand new interface for the Xbox 360. It's ok if you missed it because Gametrailers just released a great walkthough giving you all of the details you need to know. The video is hosted by Xbox Lives chief of staff Steve Willett. Let's go back to 2005 if we may, during the E3 trade show in 2005 the video game Killzone 2 was announced. Sony decided for the announcement what better way to show of the game then unleashed a trailer. Well this trailer ended up creating a major stir in the market place. Critics and gamers alike argued that the trailer was nothing but a pre-rendered video and didn't show off an ounce of actual gameplay footage. Hell, I'll be the first to admit I was in the same camp as everything else. The level of visual detail was just unheard of and seemed almost impossible to do in real time. Well if you have listened to the latest Down in Front radio show #36, Josh and myself talk about this in-game video and it's nothing but mind blowing experience... Enjoy...

Yesterday our good friends over at Sony released great news, coming in September, the 80GB version PS3 which currently is in the Metal Gear Solid bundle will be coming in a core form. All for the low price of $399.99. According to Sony CEO Jack Tretton core the 80GB system will be the same as 40GB model in terms of functionality.

In case you forgot all about this title "EndWar" which is the new Tom Clancy's RTS from Ubisoft. We have good news for you, According to Ubisoft, "EndWar" will arrive on store shelves in the US and Europe on October 14th. Showing up on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 first, then it looks like the PSP and DS versions will follow. If you remember right EndWar allows users to order your troops using a new voice control system. I posted awhile back a video showing off these features, but in case you missed it... Here it is again

So I know that many of you out there may just skim through the different news posts, but this one is really worth a read. As I was browsing around the internet, as so many of us do, I came across an ad that caught my eye. We here at the Down in Front News Department usually try to keep our posts about specific projects rather than the personal lives of the people in them. However, every once in a while something happens that's big enough to warrant a break from the usual. A few days ago Stan Winston passed away at the age of 62, ending a seven year battle with Myeloma. While some of the more casual movie goers may not know who Stan was, his creations are some of the greatest ever put on film. You may recognize his work from Terminator, The Alien series, The Predator films, Jurassic Park 2, and most recently Iron Man, where he created the main effect (Monster/Dinosaur/Suit) for each of these films and several others. It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of this genius and wish the best for...

More often than not these games fall way short of what one should normally expect from a video game. It seems, after watching the recently released trailer, that Hancock not only follows course but might have set a new all-time low. There arent enough words in the English language to probably describe what you are about to watch, so just sit back and do your best to watch this trailer all the way through.

The original Condemned game was, in my opinion, a breakthrough in the first person action genre. The fighting system is the standard to which most action type games should be judged upon. Amazingly, the sequel to this innovative game improves on most aspects of this system, at the slight cost of losing the feel of its predecessor. Condemned 2: Bloodshot places you in the shoes of an ex-FBI agent, who explores the supernatural with the aid of some nifty equipment. Your character is essentially a forensics officer that not only must face off against insane looking crack heads and whores, but have to be a pretty strong puzzle solver. You have four gadgets at your disposal (a black light scanner, a digital camera, the Stemioscope, and a PDA) each with there own particular use. Lost Odyssey is the second game from studio “Mistwalker”, with the popular title Blue Dragon being its first. While Blue Dragon was somewhat of a let down here in the states, Lost Odyssey more than made up for any lost integrity for this company.Lost Odyssey’s story is simply astounding to say the least. It has truly been a while since I have played a game with such an interesting story in it. Plus the length of this RPG is really quite long, totaling out just over 40 hours, which in this day and age is kind of unheard of. The story follows the path of Kaim, who is an immortal, which has no recollection of any of his memories from the last thousand years or so. Throughout the game you encounter other immortals that who end up joining your party to fight alongside Kaim. The story has many nice plot...
